For one, you weren't grasping concepts of the show at the age of 8. lol And sure, you can have that theory about the characters, but none of them are just a person. They all serve a purpose, or they wouldn't be in the show. lol In reality the writers were getting bored and/or running out of ideas with the 4 boys as the main characters, so they started introducing the adults more, which gave them more complex personalities and story arcs. They've also said its been more fun giving the adults a bigger role because the older they get the more they relate to them more than they can the kids. When it used to be the other way around for them. Usually any major change to characters is more reflective of the writers than it is the actual town or show. lol
41:08 it's an allusion to a Steven King book. In the 50's the milkman came to the house every day just like the mailman, usually during business hours which was also when most of the husbands were at work and thus not able to keep track of their wives. The milkman didn't just bring milk, you could order cream, yogurt, ice cream, cottage cheese, and sour cream.
I hate Gerald in Season 20 becasue he never got any kind of comeuppance for casusing the whole mess with the trolls in the first place. What;s worse, it was never mentioned or brought up in the later seasons.
First-time viewer, this was a hoot! 😄 I was a paralegal for decades. There are "Geralds" all through the legal system. Most baby lawyers start with good intent... but the 💰 is always the impetus. I will say I found more honor than is the stereotype. But, please do some research BEFORE you hire the attorney. 😊❤ (You can fire your lawyer and find another. You can also report "Geralds" to your State Bar.) 😉
To answer Gerald's question, here's MY interpretation on what makes a Nihilist different from a Satirist. A Satirist depicts certain events or historical figures in a somewhat comedic light. An example of this can be found in the old Kids WB series, Histeria; which had several figures of history being depicted through celebrity caricatures of themselves (ex. Frank Sinatra as Julius Caesar, Charlton Heston as Michelangelo, Cher as Sacajawea and so on.) But while depicting these things, the creators behind them make sure not to outright demonize them. Meanwhile, Nihilistic people (like Rick Sanchez) all believe that existence is meaningless and nothing matters, which gives people like GERALD the idea they can cause a nuclear war just for the fun of it
I think "Johnathan" is more of a Fred, since he's most likely based off of the character from Pet Semetary, Jud Crandall, who was played by Fred Gwynne in the 1989 movie.
Yeah! Milkmen used to be a thing up until the populization of Super Markets and refridgerators. Because most folk lived near farms, farmers had a thing going with local markets where they could have the milk delivered to customers that were I believe on a special subscription with the market. They'd come and drop off ice cold milk for the day in tall glass bottles, reusing the old ones that would be left out at the doorstep.
I'm pretty sure that there's one title for lawyers and that technically, any lawyer can represent your case, but you may wanna find a lawyer that specializes in what your case involves. An example is you wouldn't want an attorney who specializes in civil suits acting as your defense attorney in a criminal case.

Originally Endor was supposed to be populated by Wookies but they changed it to Ewoks for the kids. I believe there's some old comics, novels, cards and/or other merch that list Chewbacca's home planet as Endor.
@@lukespillman1313 I could be wrong or it could be just an urban myth but I'm pretty sure Trey and Matt are referencing it in the bit. He didn't say Chewbacca is from Endor, said that Chewie is from Kashyyyk, and lives on Endor. I don't think he lives on Endor, but did visit like you said. The real flaw is that he said the "planet Endor" when they actually go to the forest moon of Endor. The moon and planet use the same name. "Which doesn't maek sense."
In Sexual Harassment Panda it’s so funny that Cartman actually helps in making Gerald the stereotype shown in Death camp of Tolerance being a Covetous Jew
Kitty monk listen to Johnny Cochran again he did said that Chewbacca was from kashyyyk he did not say at all that Chewbacca was from Endoor. He said and I quote "This is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk. But he LIVES on the planet endor." I have watched this episode a lot of times as a wee lad and it's still hilarious to this day.
I would've been fine with the trolling arc had it been Randy instead because it would've felt more in-character for him to do something like that. Having it be Gerald just felt completely out of character.
I don't like fart jokes either, but the whole point of the jokes in smuggler is literally "these people act so pretentious they get high off their own farts" It's south park taking an expression and doing it in the most literal crude manner, plus there's more to the joke than just "haha farts" like standard fart gags.
I watched this entire video as someone who's extremely hyper-fixated on Gerald. No, I'm not joking, I actually have a problem I think. Anyways. I like this video essay. I was originally wary about watching it because I assumed you'd just sh*t on him the entire time for every single thing he's done, or call him the worst father in the show (which I have seen some people say? Randy and Stephen are right there...), but you do make a lot of fair points. While I love Gerald as a character, he obviously has flaws like everyone else. The show is not about good people. Everyone in the show (with few exceptions) has done something completely terrible at some point. I do agree that the Troll Trace season did mess up his character a lot, though. It's the first focus season for him, which I doubt we'll ever see another again, which makes this worse. He's portrayed in such a bad light, and yes, while he has done some messed up sh*t before, he's never done anything to this extent. He still shows remorse for some of his actions at least, but I feel it's weirdly... out of the blue for him? I don't really like that season other than for the fact that he's the focus and there's more content of him. I don't agree with some of the points in your video, but overall I think it's good. He's not the worst father in the series, I'd argue he's one of the best. He's at least the best father out of the main four's parents, excluding Tenorman because he's barely a father. He can be a good person at some points in the show and it sucks that his focus episodes mainly portray him as a horrible person causing people to dislike him. While he's not the best person, which again, almost everyone in south park isn't either, he's still a good character that is fun to watch on screen and is unique from the other dads.
Community college often gets looked down at or belittled, but its by far the cheapest and most efficient way to get your undergraduate degree. In my state (ironically NJ just like Kitty) any graduate from their local community college with a 3.0 GPA or better gets automatic acceptance to any public university in the state, with your entire academic history and credits transferring completely. So rather than going to Rutgers for example as a freshman and staying for 4 years to earn your bachelor's degree, you can instead go to Community College for your first 2 years, potentially save tens of thousands of dollars in student loan debt, and transfer to Rutgers as a Junior with a full 2 years of credits completed. Future employers and most if not all graduate programs will only care about (or in many cases even become aware of) your initial studies at community college, as once you complete your Bachelor's degree you are in exactly the same spot as a 4 year RU student. With the only major difference being the tens of thousands in student loan debt you saved your first 2 years

40:58, No, you call that man either Jud or Fred. Because that old man character is based on Fred Gwynne's portrayal of the Jud Crandall character from the 1989 adaptation of Pet Sematary.
"is Mr Krabs worse than Mammon?"
Originally Endor was supposed to be populated by Wookies but they changed it to Ewoks for the kids. I believe there's some old comics, novels, cards and/or other merch that list Chewbacca's home planet as Endor.
Really? I always thought Endor was always meant to be populated by Ewoks.
@@lukespillman1313 I could be wrong or it could be just an urban myth but I'm pretty sure Trey and Matt are referencing it in the bit. The idea being that it makes about as much sense to say a wookie lives on Endor after the events of Jedi because it was briefly mentioned in some old lore as does a glove not fitting perfectly get a guy off for murders when much more relevant evidence was presented.
I didn't know South Park made an Air soft episode with teenages. Isn't that the same as the paintball one from king of the hill.
Kitty! How can you forget the troll episodes?
In some ways Gerald is similar to Sheila.
Gerold and Sheila deserve eachother. Their both terrible people
“if my argument makes no sense you must aquit“ 2:44 -Johnnie Cochran probably
Of course he's a bad PERSON. If only he could swim with the dolphins, the soft and gentle dolphins.
Last time I checked, money from suits is the only time tax can't touch money you're getting. How ever you still have to pay for over priced filing fees and printing paper and other bs
You are creative and engaging talking without swearing
But I would love to hear you swear! 🙂
Lawfin was one of my top SP jokes!
Obviously, He's a lawyer.
If I remember, the press conference Gerald hosts is suppose to be a reference to the Tiger Woods fiasco when he cheated on his wife.
Look up Elliot Spitzer. When you compare his wife's face during the press conference to Sheila's, you'll know
His clod speech really hits different after the panderverse
I just want to say. The Internet troll thing makes him super bad lol
Question not really related to the vid: what happened with your new avatar? It was used it like one vid, then went back to old one, now I take it you use it as a alternate version of yourself to give yourself critism? How come you went in this direction? I know a couple of people found it odd, including me at first (it hard to get use to new things) but DAMN. Alternative Monk has had a crazy character journey lol
In Sexual Harassment Panda it’s so funny that Cartman actually helps in making Gerald the stereotype shown in Death camp of Tolerance being a Covetous Jew
was that a reference to the weird CGI Rudolph sequel?
Yes 😟😟😟🦛🦛🦛
You cant say mamon was a bad joke and then use the king krab of all MONEY and say he was WORSE OF A JOKE. HES A KRABBBBBBB!
i love getting kittymonk lore drops
Amazon. Some people say men are made out of mud…
Now i need a helluva boss video from you😭😭
Kyle + Ike
lol I get it
Horror movie scary levels: 4/10
Smoking commercial scary levels: 7/10
Dolphin Gerald scary levels: 10/10
How did I never see the names! Even if they didn't mean for it to be like that it just so happens to be
The bane moment was good
I would've been fine with the trolling arc had it been Randy instead because it would've felt more in-character for him to do something like that. Having it be Gerald just felt completely out of character.
I don't like fart jokes either, but the whole point of the jokes in smuggler is literally "these people act so pretentious they get high off their own farts"
It's south park taking an expression and doing it in the most literal crude manner, plus there's more to the joke than just "haha farts" like standard fart gags.
With the only major difference being the tens of thousands in student loan debt you saved your first 2 years
Legal chime in since you asked: Really it all depends, it's unlikely but Gerald could be working pro bono initially, other than that, a bunch of times a lawyer will be getting a decent % out of a settlement, let's say 30-some% if they're good. With 1.3m and considering it was a silly, gimme lawsuit in universe, Cartman potentially could've come out with at least a million bucks.

yes milkmen used to be a thing but its no longer a thing like blockbuster
