    I am a spokeshaving fool when it comes to traditional woodworking. I might own 6 or 7 of them. I will stick to router table and jig for safety when it comes to big musky baits. I got annoyed for you just watching. Haha. If I had the time I might feel different but I can safely route 20 6 to 8inch baits in 45 to 60 min. Absolutely great work. Truly enjoy the videos and your baits.

    hey mike there used to be a lure maker in south central ohio named bill wolfgang made lures for years him and his wife ,fished musky together.he made three dementional lures like these your making here he used large rasps,with the lure clamped in vice, after bill died a man i spoke with told me went to see bills wife to console her and asked wife if he could see bills shop,the man being a lure builder too.when he went into shop there was a lure still in the vice, the last lure he worked on ,,prosumebly and there was a bunch of different sized rasps.he used rasps instead of spokeshave/drawshave...the interesting thing he told me is that directly above vice was a light,that he could move back and forth to cast shadow on lure to insure both sides of lure were identical,,,,good trick bill wolfgang...wolfgang lures catch fish im told ,one thing though he was notorious for fishing/trolling very slow speeds, and most of his lures are slow speed baits,i also heard he caught lots of fish big fish too. love the vids mike.......toothy out

    Master of the spokeshave! Awesome vid! I need to use mine more, I hate using a router with a passion!

      The spoveshave is a much more fun process for sure. The router can be dangerous and it can't do complex shapes.

    This is your most recent video, but you made it ten months ago. I REALLY enjoy and learn from your work, and I hope you'll soon share it again with amateur lure-makers like me.

    Wow! Most of that video was in high speed. You are a perfectionist with a lot of patience! How long per bait does that take in real time? Thanks for posting the video.

    • @FrettholdBaits
      @FrettholdBaits  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      About 18-20 minutes per bait from start to finish.

      I know.. I've been thinking about how I've been neglecting this channel. My wife and I had a baby so I took the year off from baits. I'm just now getting back at it and I plan on filming very soon! Stay tuned.
