    Ricky practice rounds are great, he explains his mind set and breaks down the holes great. I'm a fan of them for sure.

      I agree. It also makes watching the tournament more enjoyable because I have a better understanding of the holes and landing zones etc.

      Ricky is the best in the business at the preview. Love all of the tips. If you listen to him you can learn something on almost every hole.

    Its funny how ricky talked about gannons game face, im newer to disc golf but always thought gannon seemed like he was a weenie .lol but i met him at maple hill this year while i was at skins and he is really nice, willing to carry a conversation with you. Thats when i realized its just his game face lol. He is a really cool dude.

    I personally have been happy and see the improvement happening with the live coverage. There is the occasional spot with spotty coverage but overall I’m happy with it. I don’t understand the gripes about the live coverage. Yes the storylines etc could be better but this year has gotten much better

    I can tell you - like Mahmoud did couple years ago - 90% of the coverage is NOT live. At this point we have a lot of cameras and plenty of stuff to show. People wanted more action, so there's now a huge ammount of clips and scenes jumping on and off the stream.

    Don't know how expensive it is but, PGA has live ball tracking. I think it would be really cool to watch the disc tracking every shot. Maybe not a putt within circle 1, but drives, 2nd shots and long putts it would show the level of accuracy the pros have. And it's a cool visual. They will do it time to time on Aces, but that's about it.

      I feel like I always heard jomez complain about how hard it is to do flight trackers but now every basic TH-camr has it and I see way less from jomez

      Just a graphic on the side of the screen that shows where the discs landed from the overhead view. It is so hard to tell where they are on a hole sometimes.

    Against Bodie's point about 2h rounds: I don't think we should try to go too far with compressing the run time, as often the chase cards have charging players these days. There should be time for checking up on them, too. Then again, maybe the threesome would be perfect for this.

    I root for Gannon to keep doing well. Even bought his cloud breaker. But I can’t stand watching him live lol. I’m not wasting five hours watching disc golf

    We need our own Drive to Survive on Netflix, talk about the best and also the guys that barely make it touring in a van on tour.

    They need to play recorded shots shortly after they happen because they spend too much time watching slow players setting up for way too long as well as showing too many shots of the FPO players bending over dealing with their equipment rather than moving on to the next throw.

    3 player cards. Rounds from 1 to 18 go faster. More opportunities for a 2nd or 3rd card player to cause upheaval at the top of the leaderboard. Less backup, so cards can start closer together.
    But that likely can't happen until FPO has its own tour like Missy has talked about. Because putting a full FPO and MPO field on 3-player cards just doesn't have enough hours in the day to make it work.

    Drone footage is what is going to take disc golf coverage to the next level. Imagine the Pro Tour hiring professional drone pilots. The producer side of DGN is not good either. Also DGN needs to stop putting post produced on major networks.

      And the quiet sounds of nature will be drowned out by by that annoying drone whine.

    Jomez has better coverage than dgn, I get live is exciting, but when it's garbage coverage, jomez is way better.
    Commentary is way better on jomez also which makes me wait for the jomez coverage over watching dgn. On most courses pro could use golf carts to get around that would cut down time by alot.

    I think DGN needs to figure out a better wireless connection. I think the quality is dipping because of poor connection between cameras and the studio that puts it out to us viewers.

    • @RobRoane
      @RobRoane 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      The next step up is way more expensive. I doubt they have the budget to do satellite feeds like major pro sports

    • @Alternate_O
      @Alternate_O 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@RobRoane There is no way they have the money lol. I'm just saying I think the cameras are fine it's the wireless that is suffering.

    • @RobRoane
      @RobRoane 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@Alternate_O right and there’s no way to improve that without going to a satellite broadcast. Even if the connection from the cameras to the video trailer is super strong, if they don’t have some kind of high speed internet to stream through the viewer experience is going to be like it is. I assume most courses don’t have high speed internet onsite, so they’re using a cellular signal to broadcast. Satellite broadcasting would be the only way to get a high quality stream out to the viewers consistently

    • @ztsb_koneko
      @ztsb_koneko 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Like others said, it's the bad connection from the course that kills it. I believe they invested in equipment to strengthen it for this year, but further upgrades are more and more money, which the cheapskate viewers certainly don't seem willing to pay. Unfortunately we're likely stuck waiting for the sport to grow to a point where bigger sponsors get interested...
