  • The Greens are proposing a Robin Hood tax reform that would see big corporations slugged with a 40% tax on super profits, which could raise $514 billion to help Aussies through a cost-of-living crisis.
    Greens leader Adam Bandt explains.

How about we address the loopholes enabling corporations to shift profits offshore? What if we eliminate corporate political contributions and lobbying incentives so that politicians truly work for us instead of just pretending to? Just picture the continuous rise in costs every year - from rent to repayments, food, bills, and taxes.

Why should the worker get taxed more and more but corporations can pull in unlimited profits making the rich richer? Extra taxes on big profits and plough that money back into infrastructure and public services.

Per capita spending on pensions for politicians and judges is next to nothing. A potential benefit is that it decreases the financial incentive for politicians/judges to be corrupt.
Removing medicines from the PBS could lead to more people needing government assistance. Likewise it could lead to some people no longer being able to work.
I have a problem with ‘work for the dole’ and limiting the duration of unemployment benefits. My issue is that some unemployment is built into Australia’s economic system. The idea is that if the employment rate falls too low, people switching jobs would put upward pressure on inflation. So that the majority don’t suffer from inflation, the minority suffer from unemployment (or underemployment).

We have far surpassed what is reasonable
All that is happening is a thing called empire building
Many of the bureaucrats have positions that they get paid quite well for with exceptional working conditions that include much more leave entitlements and other benefits
That are not available to the rest of Australians
One of the major concerns is the excessive rules and regulations that are designed to hinder progress and prosperity to the rest of Australia
I offer a solution that no politician has the courage to implement
    Proposal number one
A sweeping review of the bureaucracy of Australia
In particular the billions of dollars we pay these people
In return for very poor or no productivity
That are designed to justify their position and create pretend jobs /positions
Absurdly excessive ridiculous rules and regulations
That are mostly not necessary in many cases
    Proposal number two
When dealing with citizens the ones who pay their wages
All bureaucrats must be forced to supply an ID NUMBER
    For all interactions with citizens
This is for accountability and performance
I can as many people may be able to in their professions refer to
Site certain excessive ridiculous rules and regulations
In some ways are against human rights in other countries
I will give on very quick example in my area being training
If you want to complete a simple CPR course
There are two government departments that if you do not comply
You are not entitled to obtain your CPR certificate
One the unique student identifier USI or useless student identifier as I call it
An employer does not care about your USI database
They just want to see the actual certification
In addition the USI is never up to date or the site is down
Next you have AVETMISS too long to write out here
This is another useless government department
That you have to comply to where they ask you obtrusive questions in order to get a database they can so called interpret
Don’t comply to both of those things you cannot get your CPR certification in Australia
This does not even happen in other countries maybe not even communist countries
Other countries would call this educational blackmail
In fact a breach of human rights your right to an education
Another statistic I recently come across was in the Australian health sector where one in three employees In the health care system do not have anything to do with patient care
The ration in most other countries is one in ten employees
Another issue is the ridiculous benefits
We pay to politicians once they leave office
    This needs to stop
    Good luck on this one
Australians need to stop being apathetic on these issues
The billions we pay these highly unproductive bureaucrats
Could fix the healthcare system and infrastructure
Ok if you are a bureaucrat or a close relative or politician in their pocket
You will be saying oh no we are needed we are important
How about this we close down your department /organisation today and see how it impacts production and society
    Probably for the better
Yes we do need some government institutions but nowhere what we have
Note I am only discussing bureaucrats
Not the real government employees who make a real difference
Medics Paramedics Nurses Firefighters the list goes on we need a lot more of them
Again clean out the useless dead weight from the government and employ the real professionals
Yes it is a pipedream very few politicians have the courage to do this
We lack courageous leaders or if they try they are quashed
And Australians who are too apathetic until one day it will be too late
Leading to little to no freedom left for your children

    Fees on super will explode...
Look at the rentals in Victoria. How the greens stuffed that up..
Question should be, who is funding the greens to destory Australian business, so it moves abroad...
When the greens attack the textile industry, it was funded by a French fashion house, to give the excuse to move to a third world country....

Business do do alot for the community but id respect that more if those companies wernt offshoring the profits, sacking people left and right for decades and clearly not giving a single f about the cost of living and rent in favor of taking advantage of overseas talent and people who can pay out the entire 12 month rental contracts in advance.
Always make us fix the problem and use this sea of talent to block, negate and reduce thier share. this is the logical course for them.
The amounts he is talking about are actually greatly reduced esp if you go into the territory of retroactive recouping of the years where there was no royalties due to their predatory lobbies.

WOW... this guy truly has no idea about how the economy works and has a truly naive view of the world. He is under the assumption that businesses have no other choice but to operate out of Australia and more importantly to not understand that revenue is totally different from profits. On a separate note, if he is essentially saying that companies are only allowed to make a 5% return in Australia and anything above that is obscenely high, he clearly has no idea about how businesses operate. Most companies would just shut down and put that cash in a bank and get better interest on the money sitting in there and millions of people would be unemployed but I suppose politicians would not have to worry about that right..?
