I just got back from about a 200 mile ride, with 80% off road, and this bike just feels better and better each mile. It's shockingly well put together, handles great, perfect power, just wow!
Great looking bike! Just a suggestion on the hi-vis on the seat. Buy some spray paint specifically made for vinyl and just mask off the hi-vis and paint it. I put a black Seat Concepts seat on my 2019 Africa Twin and painted the pillion black with vinyl spray paint (it was blue). It's super durable and really changed the look of the bike. Enjoy your new ride.
From Australia where there have been multiple reviews …I can honestly say your forensic review , has more real world detail about the bikes build and quirks than all of those Aussie reviews put together .👍
I stopped in at my dealer up in Washington on my way home from work last night after seeing online that they had arrived. These bikes are very nice. TOP NOTCH build quality, not low end looking at all. I am very impressed. The dealer has already sent a few home with buyers and only has two blue ones in stock at the moment. Several observations: 1. The front of the tank seems to be a lot wider than a T7 tank / fairing area. 2. The seat height allowed me to totally flat foot with both feet and still have my knees bent a little bit. I'm 5'9" about a 30-31" inseam (jeans size). A taller seat would probably be fine for me. 3. The windscreen and instrument display screen seemed a little bit further way than on a T7, though the display screen is lower.
@@Adventurerider1985 Empire Cycle. They are also the Triumph and Husqvarna dealer here in Spokane. I don’t recall what other brands they sell. They open at 9am. If you wanted it, and weren’t in a position to drive across the state to get it, there’s a good chance I may head to the Tacoma area in the next month or so and could meet a buyer near Tacoma. I have an enclosed trailer I transport my bikes in.
I now have 6400km on mine & loving it. Couple of points, Your dealer will sell you a factory tall seat, a much better fit for us taller riders & as a bonus its very comfortable with the higher foam. Talking about seats, yours seems to be missing the 2 rubber grommets at the front, they attach to the holes in the plastic 'posts', they do tend to fall out because being rubber they grab against the frame when you install the seat, a dab of grease in the grommet fixes that. Not sure if you worked it out but you don't need to stop to disengage the ABS, just push the button & close the throttle, offroad mode stays engaged. That bash plate dents very easily, you can buy aftermarket ones but I skinned it with a sheet of 5mm HDPE, that stuff takes some serious hits.
@@willgilligan7605 I had to rewind just to make sure I hadn't imagined it. Mine didn't come with any either, they'd probably popped off at the dealer. A blob of grease makes it easier to get the seat on/off too now.

I wonder if you are confusing the Ibex for the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, which does have two height positions for the seat. I haven't seen any other reviews for the Ibex that discuss anything other than the availability of a Tall seat option.
Got mine a couple of days ago. Prefer the Zephyr Blue, kept the electric pink highlight stripe, bit safer on the roads. I'm an 80s fluro kid no issues with loud colour schemes . Never planning to do single track or enduro. full crash bars and luggage rack with a centre stand so, I threw any idea of keeping it light out the window. still breaking it in, definitely should have had the 15t front sprocket as standard. Still debating the high rally seat, can flat foot 5f9" but you feel the seat after 2hr. might get a larger wind shield. Other than that super happy with it and no regrets
You are very entertaining, I love your excitement with new bikes. What a great selection. I may switch my Rally too. I am 5'-7" so the MT may be a great choice. Please keep going!
Glad to see your review. Been thinking about adding that bike to sit next to my 690 Enduro R. On the seat height, think they offer 2 different seats. Short and tall one. Be safe
Nice review. You've made me want an IBEX 450. It looks every bit as nice as a Japanese motorcycle. I can't wait to see one of these in person. I was looking at the 700-800 cc bikes, but they are heavier than I want to deal with. The IBEX 450 may be the one. The Himalayan 450 and 390 Adventure R are also on my list. The parallel twin may win out since I already have a single popper DRZ-400.
Excellent first impressions video, looks like you may need to order their tall seat, looking forward for some more content on the bike, and later how does it feel in comparison to your scl500, specifically for mild trail riding Thanks for sharing 👍
Looking forward to your progress on this bike! We have yet to get one at the dealer I work for. I feel you may have some confusion as to the pricing in the invoice. The dealer unit price is the price that the dealer pays CF Moto for this unit. Then CF Moto suggests that the dealer sells it for $6,499.99. They can then do with that what they will. They can mark the price down if they are having trouble moving the machines off the lot or mark it up if the demand is high and supply is low. Seeing as how these are new models and there is a lot of attention in our market for them, they will likely not price them any lower than MSRP. As for the freight, these bikes have to be sent to the states in shipping containers and then put in long haul trucks to the dealership. That is where the freight charge comes in. If the dealers ate the delivery fee, they would make peanuts on each unit after the salesman took their selling commision and the dealer wouldn't be able to keep the lights on. The customer then pays the freight fee on top of the MSRP. The dealer prep and PDI (pre-delivery inspection) are where the tech in the service department will remove the bike from it's shipping crate and assemble all necessary pieces to make it a rolling chassing and working motorcycle. They will then go over the bike and check for tightness of critical fasteners, verify correct fluid levels, make any cable or drive chain adjustments, set tire pressure, make parameter changes in the display, perform a QC test ride to verify all systems work, clean the motorcycle and deliver it to the sales department. With the fee being $634, you just have to divide that by the shops labor rate to find the flat rate time the service department has charged the sales department for the fully setup and clean motorcycle sitting on the floor. Of course, if the sales department paid both the freight and the setup of the motorcycle they would make no money at all. The customer is responsible for these fees and they will show up on the invoice of the motorcycle. They aren't doing anything shady or hiding any price gouging in there. Honestly, you may be lucky to pay MSRP. My guess is that when these start hitting showrooms everywhere in the states, the greedy dealers will mark up the price of the MSRP because of demand. They did the same thing in my local area with the Tenere 700, because of low availability. Have fun with that thing and remember to make it as stinkin' cozy as you can!
yeah I get the process and it a business with a goal to make $, but I buy all my Hondas without freight or prep fees, MSRP or less + tax. Just gotta find the right dealers
I have a 29” inseam. Do you not think the rally seat will make it too tall?? I was thinking of getting one and putting the suspension link on the lower hole, and maybe winding the preload down too. Thoughts?
For shorter riders, the Rally seat might not be necessary since the rider triangle won't be as cramped due to shorter legs. On the plus side, once a rider becomes more confident they can always get the taller seat
Winding back preload is ok for smooth bitumen , but affects handling on rougher bitumen ,cornering and off course off road . But if you only do smooth roads it would ok to do that .
Everybody felt the same way about japenese bikes years ago and your new bike will be just fine and after the quirks get fixed the bike you will love just give it time and the value is there great price your a lucky man and take care of yourself
Do yourselves a favour and fit the 15 tooth front sprocket, drops the revs by about 400rpm and still remains very responsive. Very popular mod here in Australia where the bike has been on sale for almost 12 months.
This is one of the most anticipated motorcycles in a long time. I hate neon also. However, with drivers these days, I want to be seen. Safety supersedes looks.
Interesting observation regarding the weight and top heaviness. Would really appreciate your opinion on which bike feels least top heavy. Would also appreciate a comparison with Tuareg. Thanks
I don't know if I'm the only one with this issue, but I had to double the volume on your video, in comparison to most of content on TH-cam. I'm not an audio expert, so I'm not sure what may have caused that.
My opinion, stuff made in China looks good when new right up until it breaks. I have 40+k on my VStrom, 25k on both my Africa Twin and CRF250 Rally. I'm not buying a Chinese bike until I'm seeing these bikes holding up to 50 and 100k miles. IMO all the 5000km "long term reviews" and I did a 2000 mile trip mean nothing. In my mind a bike is a bit of a capital investment that should hold up for 10 years minimum. I like the fact that these bikes are what we want and a wakeup call for the big 4. But IMO these bikes aren't proven and have to overcome the "Chinese quality" reputation. In short, I'm afraid to spend my hard earned dollars on a unproven Chinese anything and am willing to pay the Honda premium if they build something similar.
It dies, but it also rubs off again just as quick, I've even tried black shoe dye, lasts a bit longer but still rubs off eventually. I now have 6400km on mine.
I have the 2019 CB500X absolutely love that bike but this thing is pretty well set up has a radiator guard a skid plate it's a nice bike... I'm a Japanese bike guy but let's see how these things run long-term! Good luck 💯🤞! I also had a CRF250L rally I miss that bike I traded it in for the CB
I'm torn between the CRF300l-R and NX500... thoughts for 60 yr old; getting back into riding after 20 yrs away; will ride 80% Road/20% dirt; want to handle an hour at 65-70 if need to.
@RobertBenson-z3x I had a 2018 250L rally & it was a great bike & I could do 65-70 but no more than that so if you get the 300 you could cruise at 70 mph the 500cc is what I have now it's just so much more of a bike but it's not nearly as light & nimble, feels like it's definitely more of a road bike than off-road if you ask me but that's somebody that just got off of a rally... I also had an Africa twin adventure sport 2021 but it was just too big & cumbersome not what I'm looking for the CB500X feels like a smaller version of the Africa twin that's much easier to ride I upped the gearing by one tooth 16 front ⚙️ & I cruise that at 80 mph no issues. The CB500X is also much more of a comfortable bike on the highways. Considering the price is pretty close on both of them it's hard not to get the 500 for like $1,200 or so more I think that's money well spent but again depends where you ride & what you do with it.
Does the dealer you bought this from keep a supply of parts? (At least consumables like air/oil filters). I'm concerned about ease of parts support plus realiability/durability on these. It does seem like a really nice bike though. Like the tubeless spokes !!
I have the 800 Ibex T. I love it. I have tons of accessories and already paid for a service plan. I really like this 450 but would hate to lose my money trading in. This 450 looks to be an amazing bike. A little more off road friendly than the 800.
I think CfMoto have about 600 dealers on USA and they have a main office too in the US so this is a realy good bike i have had mine for a year now and have drived 8000 kilometers on it and not one issue it is a quality bike even it came from China! I have ATV too from Cf Moto who eithere have had any issues that one is from 2023.
I just hit my local dealer and rode the demo bike for a while. I only see one downside to it. It is NOT geared for Texas highway speeds. Other than that, I love it!
The rubber bands in your seat fell out. These are the ones from the front. Watching your video, you can see one of them is near the battery on the left side.15.16 :) Typical problem with 450mt seats. You need to lubricate these rubber bands with some grease,of course, if they are still there and you haven't lost them.new ones cost about $1 each.
Slightly different exhaust than what we get here Downunder. Ours has a twin pipe outlet & sounds a tad different. May be for tighter emissions? May be why it took a while to get to Trumpland. Like my Himalayan450 the tyres are OK until you hit any mud
CST are the initials for Cheng Shin Tire. So they're a known brand of dirt bike and motorcycle tire that's been around for ages. While not something like a Bridgestone they're decent for the money. I've been looking into an Ibex 450 as a potential purchase since they've announced it. Though I'd eventually change the stock tires to something much more aggressive if I were doing trail riding. Mabey a road legal dirt bike knobby or something like the Metzeler Karoo 3. But I'm not familiar with Metzelers since I've never owned any so I don't know if the Karoo 3 is even any good. They look nice and aggressive though.
HA! Not what I was expecting for a first mod. Deposit on the KTM 390 ADV-R when pricing was released. It will be a bit over $8000 with the reg here in Mass.
I was seriously considering one of these but settled on a Tenere 700, mainly because I heard these are pretty small from seat to pegs.. I am not sure I want to watch this video I may regret the extra money i've spent!
I took the chance and watched haha and got to the part of you complaining about leg room.. glad I went with the Tenere, i'm 6'3 and gout has caused some joint damage in my feet so I really need as much leg room as possible. This wouldn't have worked for me.
When l learned of a 660 Tenere & then the rumor of a potential U.S. Tenere l saved up cash for the 1st year model , the 2021 model , l waited patiently at least 3 to 4 years then we got 2 2021 models & l set both up . Yes they are top heavy but for parts availability & reliability you can't beat a Yam Tenere 700 , knowing it will take you anywhere & get you back home . I put pivot pegz , 30mm risers , Pro Taper Suzuki/KTM bend bars & a Rally seat on my T7 & l'm 6'0 , its nice & roomy to move around on now .
I wonder if the rear shock reservoir is fake and cast to look like a working saw a video where they saw through the narrow area between the reservior and shock it was solid no oil or gas just for looks?
Do a throw down between this MC and the 2025 Honda NX 500. The NX is the better, safer, less risk purchase with proven reliability, world wide bigger dealerships, worldwide mechanic familiarity, world wide less costlier parts & modifications available. Performance wise either Adv Road Touring or Adv off road exploring, the gap between the 2 is not great enough to beat the CFMoto short comings in overall ownership of the Honda NX 500. The Honda should prove to be the better overall MC and better buy.
find me a cfmoto video that suffered engine damage on low odo, and i will also give you a video of a honda unit brandnew 240 km odo suffered crankshaft damage. to see how you will lie about you honda hearsay quality. your poor honda 180 degree crank against a better cfmoto 270 degree crank. most honda fanboy are willing victim even their honda is cutting cost. nothing new on your honda bro. dont add durability to make your cheaply made honda better.
No good place to mount a GPS. Can't really mount it to the bar above the instrument, since that goes down with the windscreen, so the GPS would prevent lowering the windscreen all the way.
Good bike but its too late for US market. There are so many 450cc midweight adv proliferation since EICMA. Riders are spoiled with revampped DRZ4S from Suzuki, brand newly developed F450GS by BMW, incoming Turareg 457 from Aprilla, possible KLE500 from Kawasaki, and already existed Himalayan 450 from RE and NX500 from Honda. Don't know any strong incentives for this particular bike.
@@adventureundone Do this, go back to your dealership and ask them to show you their invoice for the bike they sold you and ask them what the hold back is. Good luck getting them to show you though they don't want you to know how bad they bilked you. That being said let's do a hypothetical scenario here. Let's say they do show you and their cost was $5k and the hold back is 5%. Hypothetically, they pay $4,750 for the bike after it sells. Now if they sell the bike to you for $6500 and nothing else then they made $1,750. But that's just a hypothetical so you get the jist. In this hypothetical that's 36%. I question that freight cost but without seeing their invoice you wont know and that prep cost is... just wow. I mean what did they prep? Those bikes leave the factory ready to ride. There's no "some assembly may be required". What'd they do, wipe it down with a dust rag. $634 for what? And the Doc fee? Check with your motor vehicles for the costs to file the MCO, Reg etc. and then subtract that from the $424 they charged you to find out how much they charged you to file the paperwork. I mean the the title fee does say it is only $10 so there's your MCO filing cost that brings the total down to $414. I'm not going to touch the Trauma Tax because.... trauma. Anyways, I checked JD Power for an invoice for the Ibex 450 and they aren't up yet so I had to do a hypothetical scenario so you'd get the jist. They finagled you $1k over msrp. But if you're comfortable with paying that then by all means do you. It's your business, your invoice, I'm sure you can write it off.
Wait, WHAT?! They upgraded the suspension on the 2025 model? That was the only flaw the bike had in the first batch!
Noise and emissions standards:
E4: Approved in the Netherlands
E13: Approved in Luxembourg
I have the 800 Ibex T. I love it. I have tons of accessories and already paid for a service plan. I really like this 450 but would hate to lose my money trading in. This 450 looks to be an amazing bike. A little more off road friendly than the 800.
I think CfMoto have about 600 dealers on USA and they have a main office too in the US so this is a realy good bike i have had mine for a year now and have drived 8000 kilometers on it and not one issue it is a quality bike even it came from China!
I have ATV too from Cf Moto who eithere have had any issues that one is from 2023.
I'm on 0:41 you still haven't showed the bike! However, i will guess what it is! 450MT - 100%. (editing the comment) Just saw the name of the video :D
I also put timestamps in there, so you can skip along. I know it was a long one. But I don't script, I like real raw conversation style videos
I just hit my local dealer and rode the demo bike for a while. I only see one downside to it. It is NOT geared for Texas highway speeds. Other than that, I love it!
@@LimitedGunnerGM Is it happy at 75mph?
The rubber bands in your seat fell out. These are the ones from the front. Watching your video, you can see one of them is near the battery on the left side.15.16 :) Typical problem with 450mt seats. You need to lubricate these rubber bands with some grease,of course, if they are still there and you haven't lost them.new ones cost about $1 each.
That camo flat black is sick.
Slightly different exhaust than what we get here Downunder. Ours has a twin pipe outlet & sounds a tad different. May be for tighter emissions? May be why it took a while to get to Trumpland. Like my Himalayan450 the tyres are OK until you hit any mud
Nice bike. Do you have a link for that awesome ramp with the inbuilt steps?
www.stepramp.com/shop/
That’s not a bad price. I’d be pretty happy with that if I got that deal
theres should be a free toolkits under the seat , and theres like after market seat high seat for taller people
yeah they just had it all in a bag for me
This dude loves to talk. Born for youtube.
LOL, I also have another channel 😂 (The Techne)
I’d love to see a comparison between the IBEX 450 and Honda NX500.
To be fair all factory tires no matter what bike suck ass
very very true
@@adventureundone I'm looking forward to more content on the cfmoto. Still on the fence
@ man, very mile this bike amazes me, and I have owned many great adv bikes
"light and bright" that is 101 when being visible on the roads
HA! Not what I was expecting for a first mod. Deposit on the KTM 390 ADV-R when pricing was released. It will be a bit over $8000 with the reg here in Mass.
lol, I think the best mod
That skid plate is pretty thin. Most likely 1.5mm thick. I doubt it will last long...
I saw these at a dealer in Washington state over a year ago
Such a good video. 👍
🤝
u can turn tc on off when u ride dont have to stop
I was seriously considering one of these but settled on a Tenere 700, mainly because I heard these are pretty small from seat to pegs.. I am not sure I want to watch this video I may regret the extra money i've spent!
I took the chance and watched haha and got to the part of you complaining about leg room.. glad I went with the Tenere, i'm 6'3 and gout has caused some joint damage in my feet so I really need as much leg room as possible. This wouldn't have worked for me.
I have my eyes on a 25' Tenere, I like the mild changes (just wish they went with tubeless at least :(
@adventureundone tubeless would have pushed me to a 2025 for sure but I got a huge savings on a left over 2024 and jumped on it.
Cheng Shin Tire. They probably make every companies tires except continental.
really? I didn't know this
I wonder if the rear shock reservoir is fake and cast to look like a working saw a video where they saw through the narrow area between the reservior and shock it was solid no oil or gas just for looks?
Each to their own but I love my blue and pink ❤ to me grey and or black is boring and dull
Much better without stickers, I'm looking into this bike and thinking to put black vinyl wrap on the grey parts
if it helps me be seen and not ran over by some karen in her mini van talking on the phone then ill take all the neon they want to put on it
our legs will cover it up anyway
Im here for the ibex 450
The Honda looks more like a road bike to see a model. MT450 looks more off. Road, just my opinion.
CST = Cheng Shin Tire
I'm 6 feet tall, get the tall seat, it'll fit you just right.
I need to order that asap
Pink? Maybe my color sense is a bit off-isn't that neon yellow trim?
He's referring to the pink on the blue/white version.
@@DualSportDoug Oh, thanks! I was a bit worried I might be going color blind. And yeah, I completely agree-pink just doesn’t work.
@@lr_spb lol, I was starting to think I was

It does look better, not into that either.

Might want to cut back on the caffeine
lol, I don't drink caffeine, I just nerd out when I talk about things I enjoy
Aliexpress sales the tall rally seat...
6950 dlls in Mexico, taxes included.
I PRICED ONE IN ... P.A. A MONTH AGO. O.T.D.. PRICE .. WAS $8866 .54..😅😂
tell them no, but maybe a litter firmer tone, lol
No good place to mount a GPS. Can't really mount it to the bar above the instrument, since that goes down with the windscreen, so the GPS would prevent lowering the windscreen all the way.

Here is a solution to the gps.
10:55 CST = Chinese Super Tires? Lol
CST = Maxxis, same company but different name for marketing
First look in USA, Amercia is a continent not a country...sorry
good call, updated
CF MOTO is a Chinese bike?????
Not a good deal. You got rekt.
what would be a good deal? What OTD have you been seeing?
Too expensive for 450cc unknown brand in USA, over $8000 out of the door
