The nurse at my dad's dementia ward in the nursing home told me how she was amazed that people could forget their own name and even how to feed themselves but they don't forget GOD! God works in amazing ways.
I worked in the ER in Alabama USA Medical Center and I met people who were over a 100 years old, some had dementia and some had Alzheimer’s, the one thing they didn’t forget was Jesus. They didn’t know who their kids standing right there were but they knew Jesus and never forgot any verse they had ever learned, it was amazing, they knew God and they knew who he was, they loved him and talked about him as if he was right there. I pray that if I live to be that age, I never ever ever forgot the one who died for my sing, took my shame and forgive me. I love you Jesus with all thats in me.
Thank you for this!! I want to get to that age & remember Jesus, Bible verses & all the words to hymz I learned as a child & all though my life would sing in church & when I have my horrible Chronic pain that Jesus helps me through all the time!! Praise Jesus!!! ❤️🙏❤️🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🎶🎵🎶
This made me cry and laugh. My sweet Momma passed with dementia, too. She talked to a picture of Jesus hanging on the wall in her bedroom. One day she asked Him, “Jesus, do you like hot dogs?” I asked her what he said. Her reply...”He sure does!” Love and miss our sweet praying Mommas, Mark! God bless you! Oh, I got whoopings, too! 😉
She was one of my very favorite profs at LU. I had her my very first semester at LU, right after my dad passed away, and she loved me and championed me in such and incredible way that semester. I'm forever grateful to her!
My sweet Granny had Alzheimer’s. A few years before she passed away, my mom and I and others from our church went Christmas Caroling. We went to my granny’s nursing home. My granny came up and sang with us. Not only that, she sang harmony. That’s one thing she never forgot how to do.
I loved your momma! She taught a class I took at Liberty University. I use to love her stories about you Mark!!!! She was a blessing to us and now she is a blessing to Heaven.
I needed this. My mother is suffering from dementia, which they are now saying full blown Alzheimer’s. I had to place her in a retirement home this past Monday. I have done nothing but cry.
❤❤❤ Yes it’s very very hard to see our Loves one loss a battle in which there is no coming back from . In my prayers for God’s strength to see you through this terrible season.
My mother was my best friend. Lost her 3-29-10 and can't wait to be with her and my amazing dad in Heaven. Lost my dad 8-20-12 and lived with him and took care of him. We became so close. Now, it's 1-16-20 and I have tears in my eyes because I'm so alone without them. I'm grateful they didn't have to experience the pandemic and see what a vile world we live in today. The happiest day of my life will be when my life is over and I can hug Jesus neck and be with my amazing and loving christian parents. I keep holding on, but want to give up a lot and be in Heaven. 💔
I am so blessed to still have my mom here with us at the age of 89 ... While we are all sad that we cant be together for the holidays, but so blessed and thankful that we are able to call and talk to her on the phone..She still does housework and laundry and loves to be outdoors. Cooks just as good as ever!! Thank you Lord for a wonderful Mom!!
Mark is the #1 comedian as far as I am concerned. I have never watched comedian channel on TV. When you have to make people laugh at someone else’s expense, that is not humor that is humiliation. And there is a big difference. Mark is a true comedian, and a great singer. #1 in both.
❤❤❤ I pray for you Mark, I thank God for you also. I love your comedy and your love for Jesus. I hope someone in your personal life makes you laugh. The struggles of life have no boundaries and often times it’s the ones in the spotlight that need the love most but are ignored the most accept all the demands made on them. ❤️❤️❤️ God first, you and your family second, the rest of us can wait. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏✝️✝️✝️
Oh man, I’m in tears. My grandma, Aurelia, had Alzheimer’s for many years. She had similar features as Mark’s mom. When we were kids, she always played the organ and sang hymns. Sadly, her disease was already underway; none of us kids got to learn music with her. With the internet, I know now that perhaps we could have heard her sing if we’d have played some music for her. Nonetheless, she loved Jesus and that’s all that really matters. She was finally free when she passed. Thanks be to God! \•/ Oh, and I love at the end how Mark’s mom says “Oh, that’s good.” 🥰
Mark, I went through the same thing with my Mama...and I miss mine so much...But if there ever was a Blessed Woman...She would be up there with the Number One's...She taught me so much...She would look at me and confuse me with my Brother Robert who I told you passed the next year after Mama. God Bless You Mark. Gotta go feed my horses...
Worked in a mental hospital as a chaplain and was amazed that when when we would sing with the patients who could remember their names yet when we sang hymns they remembered every word of every verse.
Power of your words Mark. Of course, God’s will. But the power of your words. Claim His word to keep u safe and continue the wonderful work you do for Him ❤️
Wow...your mom had an amazing voice. I was a caregiver for clients with dementia/alzheimer's, and each one taught me how to love. Truly a blessing. Thank you for sharing Mark. My own mom passed 7 yrs ago...a mom's love is the closest to Christ's we will ever have.
Thank God for praying moms who believe in our God-given potential! Mark Lowry, thank you for loving your precious mother right up until the end. And she still had her pretty singing voice!
Our sweet mother lived to be 98 yrs and I know GOD gave her a long life because she served him totally. I was her care taker in my home and was with her when she passed away . I told her to go be with JESUS and she took her last breath .
What a dear lady! She spoke at a women's retreat I attended years ago & I was able to meet her! She was absolutely wonderful, & gracious! As a speaker, she was engaging, & funny!

Mr. Mark Lowry, I forgot to say in my previous comment that I use to be a C.N.A., and that I took care of people with, among other things, Alzheimer's and dementia. The Lord showed me immediately how to be helpful to these sweet, and often times afraid and agitated people by "stepping INTO THEIR WORLD". This calmed them down, and we would talk, most times, "as if they were actually STILL living" in their past. I REFUSED to "talk AT them", I CHOSE to "talk WITH them". I always gave them: 1)Love, 2) Respect, and 3)Dignity, NOTHING else would EVER do, as far as I was concerned.wado,Mr.Lowry.
Daniel Benson please pray for us, I have an autoimmune disease that affects my brain and signals , muscles , nerves etc then my mom 83 lost her caregiver who she lived with , we have her and she’s so precious ,we need to find a place to care for her and it just kills me I can’t take care of her myself. Please pray that Jesus has the perfect place that will love her pray with her and do bible studies with her. We interviewed the only place open today ,a private home , they are not saved , don’t know Jesus and I couldn’t send her there. My husband took leave of absence to take care of her until we find a place but he has to go back to work. She’s small and scared and trying to be brave. This is so hard
My sweet mother had a gorgeous soprano voice. Today is the 28th anniversary of when she passed away and even though there's the hereafter to look forward to seeing her again it still cuts me up that she's not here. There's so much she and I have missed together.

I don't know if you will remember me, but we met in Janesville, Wisconsin, maybe 10 years ago, or little bit more. You was doing a concert, and you kept going as long as you could until we all had to get to shelter because of a storm. I take that memory with me and I treasure it. I was so honored to meet you and get to talk to you. My first name is Michelle. God Bless You and Yours.
Mark thank you for sharing your mama with us. She did a wonderful job raising you. She’s reaping her rewards as you stand there and talk about her. 😂🌻 Your so funny 🤣
I was also that kid with notes on my shirt everyday, coming home from school. I would have loved to have momma like yours. She was your advocate. My momma just stood by and watched.
Mercy, God gave you enormous strength to be able to capture what and share in on Facebook, Praise God for your bodlness. may He richly reward you more than you ever believed to be possible.
When I was growing up Miss Mary played the piano in church. Years later she was in the same nursing home as my grandmother and both no longer had their memories. Miss Mary couldn't read nor recognize anyone. They would push her wheelchair to the piano & ask her to play. She would say, " Oh, I can't play." But when they would put an open hymn book on the piano stand, she would start playing beautifully! Now, mind, she couldn't read that hymn book and she never turned a page, but she would play hymn after hymn until she was tired. Selah.
I am so glad that Mark shares his experience with his mother and her Dementia. We lost dad two years ago. Before he died he had Dementia. Hearing Mark share his experience with his mother seems help alot
My mother had that to wish I had some video of her singing. Her and her brother done some of that great family harmony. They are singing for God now. God bless you.
@@Gigi52162 you mean Mark uses the fit God have him? Sorry, wasn’t sure what you meant by “God uses the gift he gave him”. God gave Mark a gift, and thankfully Mark uses it for God’s glory.
Oh my word! That last bit broke me down! Ugly cying, let me tell you. My oldest son has ADHD and I pray for him so much. My pastor and a few others have told me God will use him, but I worry and have my doubts.
Dear Mark, I worked at CBN when you and the Gaithers entertained the staff with songs, testimonies, and so much comedy that truly was a blessing. I think it was one of the first times they let you loose to express that wonderful gift of good, clean humor. Years later, I had absolutely no clue that you were the songwriter of a powerful and moving song, Mary Did You Know, until I discovered that fact here on TH-cam. The Lord has given you great abilities and I thank Him and you for sharing them with the world. (I wish there was a saved video of that joyous entertainment at CBN!)
Sherry H I couldn’t believe he was the one that wrote that song because he was such a great comedian!!! That song is the best song of all Christian songs!!!!
When my mom went to the nursing home the dr. asked her if she still had any of her teeth and she said every one of them. The dr. said he was impressed and wanted to see them. I started to explain mom was wrong when all of a sudden she said; "They're back home on top of the toilet where they're supposed to be". I thought that dr. was going to bust a gut laughing. Luved you for yrs. Hubby does too.
Oh, Mark. I know your mama is beaming with pride over you. And God is too! God bless you. The next time you do anything in Nashville, i'd love to come and see you!
Sorry to hear about your loss Ryan..My mom had a stroke, and is in rehab. Don't know if she will be coming home. She is 80,with multiple health issues. I miss her terribly, around here. She could lose her home, and bank savings, if medicaid runs out ( they give you 30 days) she has almost used them up. I would be lost,if she stayed there. Things keep delaying her release. I pray you get peace, strength, and comfort, during your time of sorrow! I will keep you in my prayers.Mom and I are christians. So she is ready to go, if it is Gods will. God bless you! Yes some of things they say or comes out of there mind. Can you just imagine what they could be thinking. My dad had dementia and so did my mother In law. My mother law had it for awhile before my dad got it. My dad past away almost a year before she did. Miss them both and wish they were here. But they are such in a better place not sick with that terrible disease any more amen.
I have a dear friend with dementia. She was diagnosed last year and her short term memory loss is accelerating. Her family is in another state. I know that some day they will have to intervene and I'm dreading that day. Until then I'm going to do all I can to help her.

I lived with my mama and I tucked her end in bed and kissed and said I love you and said it back to me. This last 5+ years were a blessing to us both. We found out just how alike and different were and you know it was okay. She was 94 when she passed. I am so thankful I got this to always remember. God is so good!

What a lovely soul and beautiful voice your mother has. Yes, has.
I’ve heard this story many times it doesn’t grow old 🛐✝️🇦🇺🌈🇮🇱
Love you mark!! I will pray for you mark!!

I couldn’t believe he was the one that wrote that song because he was such a great comedian!!!

I just lost my Mom a little over a week ago. I needed this.
So sorry love
@@kui_maina thank you
Sorry to hear about your loss Ryan..My mom had a stroke, and is in rehab. @Hello Ryan how are you doing
You are a good friend.
My dad is getting this way.
It's very sad and also scary sometimes.

Lords. Blessings Brother♥
I lived with my mama and I tucked her end in bed and kissed and said I love you and said it back to me. This last 5+ years were a blessing to us both. We found out just how alike and different were and you know it was okay. She was 94 when she passed. I am so thankful I got this to always remember. God is so good!
Mark, your humour is beautiful and with this you give so much honour to your late Mom. It is just so touching. God bless!!
