Solid album, and always cool to hear new heavy material from Wino & Co. Probably ranks as my #5 from The Obsessed, but that speaks more to the strength of the other four albums and not a lack of enjoyment from Gilded Sorrow.
Really good album. Thanks for the review as always Pete. I'm going to see them on the 28th of this month at a local brew house in Palmdale, California. They're playing with Howling Giant, Gozu and Idol Lord.
Hi Pete.. Been looking forward to your review on this.. Got it planned for weekend.. Listened to LUCIFER "V" yesterday it was amazing.. Have a great day our friend..
@@tomp4053 I bet ya LUCIFER is a great live band.. But she does copy off of Jinx of COVEN.. LOL.. Obsessed is a great band but haven't heard in many many years.. Classic Doom Metal..
@@logancollins7097 Logan the LUCIFER album is amazing.. You will enjoy it.. Right now i am listening to for the first time this new one of the Obsessed.. Amazing.. Classic sound.. Have a great night our friend..
@@markandmandyd7445 Was just listening to their 94 album Church Within! Definitely gonna have to give the new one a spin! Take care! I'll try to play the Lucifer tomorrow if I remember I'll let you know my thoughts!
This Lp is the ONLY LP that I've pre ordered & received it on time!! Beautiful vinyl. Sounds BIG. Lp is just classic WINO. Yen Sleep is re-recording of Obsessed classic. US tour starts next week!!!!
I love all their work and this one isn't any different. I do dig ''Jailine'' though, it's a nice rock 'n roll song I think. The rest of the album is pure Black Sabbath Master Of Reality-like doom metal.
Jailine isn't my favorite either, but it doesn't sound commercial to me. It's an up tempo stoner rock song. Wino usually throws one or two faster songs on his albums, although this one is maybe not his best.
TH-cam has been goofy with some of the regulars here. Whats weird is I don't see comments from a few people here and there on this account but can on my other gmail acct.
Ugh, long work day, here's an abbreviated version of what was deleted. There may no be a doll available yet, but eleven years after I wrote I Want a Wino Doll, Scott “Wino” Weinrich’s legacy as modern rock ‘n’ roll legend is secure. Despite about half of his best work being released in the 21st century (The Hidden Hand, A Place of Skulls, Shrinebuilder, Premonition 13, Saint Vitus, solo albums, the last two Obsessed albums), he is firmly a boomer, born in 1960. Which makes it all the more remarkable that his music has remained as fresh and vital as it is. Many have compared him to a certain Ian Fraser Kilmister, and if you look at where Lemmy was at with Motörhead at the same age, it was between Motörizer (2008) and The World is Yours (2010), representing a gradual decline from the late career peak of Inferno (2004). No decline is apparent here. It’ll take some time to determine where it fits in the Winography, but it’s worth mentioning that this is probably the best sounding Obsessed album so far. I agree about "Jailine" being least favorite track. I also really love the Early Moods - A Sinner's Past album.

4.0. Nice. No slouch at all. Thx. Pete once again 👍💯
Great album going to see them tomorrow night in Philly

Love it. Really like the classic stoner vibe of this album. Cracking stuff!
Really enjoying this one. Thanks for the review.
Amazing.. I am listening to this new album of the OBSESSED right now.. Great CLASSIC sound.. Highly recommended..
Thanks Pete! Your ranking with Craig rekindled my...obsession...with this great band!
Great review. This album deserves the attention.
Thanks for the awesome review Pete. I love this album. It's my favorite Metal album of the year so far.
I agree with everything you said. Those are my two favorite songs, too. Thanks for the video, Pete!
I agree. 4/5 stars. Love it.
Just got it last week, I'm still getting familiarized with it, I've never been disappointed by Wino !..! !..!

That Lucifer album is definitely very good. I need to delve into The Obsessed. I will check the 1994 album first when I have the time.

Sensational album. On par with Wino's best.
The album is amazing and the lyrics are simple with strong punk attitude
Solid album for sure. I really enjoyed it.
Yep it is a gooder. 🤘

Will you review the new Morbid Saint album?
Too underground would be my guess.
Damn good album, far better than the new formulaic Judas Priest.

I like it but I don’t think it’s as good as their last album Sacred.
Why was my comment deleted??
No idea...ask TH-cam.

Every once in a while when I respond to someone, my comment vanishes.
