Saber still beats Harley most of the time even with defense items. I found clock actually makes squishy mages way harder to kill in the early/mid game than armor item for saber. And of course, late game saber can burst any squishy even those with 2 armor items if he builds right.
Basically the most sure fire way to counter Saber is to out farm him. If you have at least 1 level higher than him with warrior boots then Harley would have lower chance of being one shotted by Saber and still counter him. But of course that depends if you manage to secure every turtle and your teammates doesn't let themselves be a free food for Saber. Dominating in jungle lane won't matter that much if Saber can farm on other ways and it won't be long till saber over takes you in terms of gold and exp.
Wait I just realised saber wasn’t their team’s hyper that game. He was the roamer with dire hit and execute. Cyclops was using ice hunter boots and retri. So that’s why saber’s damage was lacking. His farm was reduced. I saw saber use execute on Fredrinn at 9:35 (u can even see the kill notification)

i love playing harley in soloq cos it's like most of the time you don't really need to rely on teammates to help you dish out dmg you just need to isolate the squishies and then bam you're eating good and snowballing with ease

i think the biggest mistake of the enemy team is to let cyc jungle instead of saber. if saber was the jungler and got the farm he needed then it might be a different story.

Warrior boots alone isn't good . Most of the items saber builds are pen items. So you need more defense . I recommend building mini antique for skills based assassins.

Another tactic to counter one-shot heroes(e.g. Saber) is to get Twilight Armor. It's passive will reduce the amount of damage when they deal 600 in a single hit along with giving some bonus HP to be more tanky.
@@jordanthierykurniawan6806 plus Antique Cuirass has the better components. Dreadnaught Armor is the best item in early game you can get against any phys spellcaster. I kinda wonder why Betosky didn’t use it on Harley yet.

Problem is saber's burst damage is done in multiple hits. So why not go antique cuirass entirely?

I usually use steel legplates early when there is a saber and switch to twilight armor at late game or if they decides to use malefic roar.
dreadnought armor is better against saber and don't build twilight armor, it's not really a good defense item better go for antique cuirass
