Zenith renders don't lag. It renders each frame individually, slowing itself down when it has to to make a no lag video. You can also do it in UMP. The MIDI isn't slowed down by me, Zenith slows it down on its own to make a no lag video.

lots of trial and error. i did this without a video editor. i just chose random times until i got one that mostly matched

If you choose to include audio in Zenith, it should sync automatically…

Not sure I know what you mean. My guess is that notes are all the same length. That's caused by the soundfont.
