Your comment about "you're gonna get fresh fries" is absolutely not true. There is nothing worse than a cold McD's fry, just as good as it can be fresh and hot. They don't make new ones as much as you think. In the old days, yes, this was not an issue, but in the last 15 years, they do not care about it. And asking for fresh fries? You should see the eye-rolling and comments about that!

Back in the '80s, I used to work at the McDonald's in Willcox arizona, in the middle of nowhere. I mean there was nothing between Albuquerque New Mexico and Tucson at the time and this was a pull off. The entire Street was nothing but hotels and restaurants.
It was in the middle of the desert, in the middle of nowhere, and the manager was from michigan, where I had just moved from and when he saw where I used to work, he hired me on the spot. It was across the street from his mother's dress shop in a small town in Michigan.. he couldn't believe it so he hired me.
I used to be extremely cute and tiny and they put me on the front register. Like I said there was sort of a tourist trap and it was nothing but buses and customers, 24/7. There was never a break.
I wanted off the register so after a couple of weeks, he told me I could be in charge of making the salads.. there was a bucket that was half full of salad mixing and a bucket that was still full of water. He told me to finish the first bucket and drain the second went only when I needed it.
Anyway, I opened the bucket of salad and it was crawling with Arizona cockroaches, I don't know if you've ever seen these b****** but they're like 8 inches long 3 in wide and dark blood red. You can't kill them. I closed up the bucket and drained the second bucket and started working.
He came in sometime later and saw that I was using the second bucket and questioned me, when I told him the bucket was full of roaches, he looked at me and said "So, pick them out!"
      🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
I told him I was quitting...

For the complaint about waiting in slow drive-thru, then not knowing what u want when u get to the speaker: Maybe the should put a menu(make sure its up-to-date) ahead of the speaker so it can be read BEFORE getting to the speaker to order. I've been going there for years and basically order same thing. Every once in awhile I want to try something new or somebody in my car does. If we could've seen the menu ahead we can have it together. OR you go specifically for something that on menu and the say the offer is OVER. Now you have to shift your taste gears ... another stall at the order speaker.

The problem with drive-thrus is that you have to know menu pretty well to use it. You can't stop to study menu before going to order spot. Even there, cars will be honking at you too pull up when cars in front of you do. At least inside, you can study menu before walking up to cashier. This is why I like fast food places that have printed menus you can keep in car or at home to read before you even go to the restaurant.

Here is another tip, if you plan on doing a big orders make sure you order it through mobile so the drive thru or front counter person doesn’t mess it up. Not only that but most fast food chains now have reward points on their mobile app that allows you to redeem free items after you hit a certain amount of points.

The closest McDonald's to us is at a gas station. No seating, just drive through. They routinely charge more for burgers than the price listed on the McDonald site. Since it's drive-through there's no easy way to complain without holding things up. When I order a McDouble with Mac sauce it costs more than a big Mac.

The ice cream machines are designed to break by the manufacturer so they can charge the McDonald's businesses a bunch of money to fix them but most of the time there being cleaned and every other day the machines are suppose to be striped down and cleaned manually for a detailed cleaning, stores are suppose to do this before the lunch rush or directly after the lunch rush so it's up again for the dinner rush

Not everyone frequents McDonald's like it's the grocery store. While sitting in line u can't see the menu until you're pretty much at the speaker. I know there are lots of frustrating quirks that customers have. What's frustrating for the customer? Being asked to repeat their order or part of it three times and STILL being given the wrong order. Being treated with attitude because a customer before u was a nuisance. Being told McDonald's doesn't make something that's on the menu or that you've purchased before, from McDonald's. Not getting your whole order is frustrating. Using up gas while sitting in a looooong line and getting the wrong order. Sitting there is a choice. Receiving the wrong order is just wrong. Especially when it's happened a few times. Now, I just order a drink, in a rare short line from McDonald's

Just because you've ordered something before doesn't mean it's permanently on the menu, there will also be things on the menu that aren't able to be made or it may be past a certain time so that item is no longer available, if you're told you can't have something then you can't have it. If you don't want your order to be wrong then listen when it is repeated to you(this should either happen at the speaker or the window that you pay, there may also be a screen on the speaker or menu which should show you your order), if they don't repeat it to you then ask them to repeat it to you.

If they ask me to pull into a spot because my drive thru order isn't ready, I just get a refund and go somewhere else. I've tried waiting for them 6 or 8 times now, and every single time they either mess up my order or give me someone else's instead. I understand why they do it, but they have never gotten it right after they ask me to park. It just isn't worth my time.

The fries aren't constantly made fresh. I get old fries when its slow. Also, Taylor has made
icecream machines for McDonald's with those codes bc then they can regularly service them that way. Taylor makes money off of their codes being off limits to McDonald's managers to get the machine up & running again. Its a scam & we all are told its not working when it is. Its just the codes they need to put in, but can't bc Taylor needs to be called in. Managers should learn the codes & put them in without calling Taylor.

That's part of the job folks...
Stop whining..we all have things that happen on our job that agitates us... That's life
I fear eating at fastfood because sometimes unhappy employees vent by doing nasty things to your food...then smile at you as they hand you your order...
This worry's me...also many fastfood hire young people who are careless and who don't like being their working in the first place..
These type of people shouldn't be kept as employees
All food should be kept clean and cooked fresh...
People feed this food to their family's
Having employees who aren't happy working their job...
Can only result in them doing nasty things to your food..
Because they will be fired if they act out towards a customer..
    They know this
So they strike out by tampering with your food..
and you end up eating food that's been dropped..or spat on...without knowing it..
Because some people work for a paycheck but they hate their jobs and would rather being somewhere else...rather than stuck working on a weekend when they wanted to go out and party
