Thanks so much George on the Coles Notes-esque video on essential words and phrases! I added them to my translator app as favourites so I can reference them easily. This will certainly come in handy when I head to Tokyo first week on November. I’ve watched many of your videos to help me prepare for my upcoming trip (first time to Tokyo and hopefully not the last). Keep up the great content George and Heidi! All the best!
Well, my first trip to Tokyo is in early October. I am a slow learner but I definitely will write down all the must know word in my notebook as a back up. Thank you for sharing.
Excellent video (as always). Very well organized and practical. Also,, I did not know you could download a country file to use Google Translate off-line, nice tip.
I'm leaving to go see Japan for the first time ever, in about 2 months so I'm trying to learn some japanese again with Duolingo, Renshuu and some other stuff. So this is a very welcome addition to my practicing schedule! Thanks for your informative videos 🙇
This is quite a random question but… can you walk around with your coffee/drink? Like if your window shopping and get a coffee, should I finish it before leaving where I got it?
Hi, without knowing someone it can be hard. But you might want to check both VRBO and airbnb as they might be the easiest. Otherwise, there are apartment rental websites, but do note that for most places you need to pay extra fees to rent compared to most countries.
If you're just going as a tourist the important word is onegaishimasu. Kudasai is supposed to go with another word- the something you actually want and you're supposed to know what to call it. It requires vocabulary. Onegaishimasu can just be used standalone. blah blah blah blah blah blah blah y/n? y And once they do what they're doing you can infer what the blah blah blah is and maybe say daijoubu next time instead. Or if it's immediately obvious you told them the wrong thing, then you get to use the trifecta.... onegaishimasu.... aaa... sumimasen, daijoubu desu!
Leaving for Japan in 2 weeks. Product has mixed reviews by users. And, is it only useful if you have an iPhone? I presume An Android phone is incompatible,yes/no?market research needed more getting. Thanks anyway for sharing.
Hi, it works on both iPhone and Android. I agree with a lot of the reviews. The device is great for directions and using at places like at restaurants but for actual conversations, the translation can be slow. Hopefully, this will be improved.
Ha it was funny when you gave her the detailed directions and she just let you go on and on and then pulled out the translator and asked you to repeat it all over again.

I’m terribly rusty with my Japanese and am nervous to use to skills
Thank for the video; it is a good start. And I will rewatch 😆
You can do it!

So helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
so useful!
TQ, CK! 🙏🏼
I enjoyed the video. And was looking at the ear buds. Still have not decided if I am going to purchase them.
thank you so much!!! very good, what do you say to: how much is it? We are looking forward to come to tokio in November!!
Hi, so ask how much is it say, Ikura desuka? or if you add kore wa ikura desuka? how much is this?
Have a great trip!

Most people finish food/drinks where they bought them. It’s less likely to spill it on someone that way.
@@KenshoQuest got it. Thank you 🙏🏼

But with "te form" and objects kudasai is always better right?
Ex: "Camera o mitte kudasai" or "Tasukete kudasai" correct?
correct, always use kudasai with te form.
