I once heard this piece played by a viola choir. You need about eight violas to capture all the moving lines and harmonies. But one violist like maestro Mizera does it justice with just the one instrument, the way Bach intended of course. Bach would approve.

What an immense piece to be played so flawlessly! I loved your phrasing, everything connected in such a logical and tasteful way. I have been waiting for a recording of this piece to be played on viola (on youtube) and I think that you blew me out of the water with the quality of sound and skill!

Take care of each note emission and articulation. It means that you could probably spend a day on just a musical phrase.
