- This is a re-upload in 1080p 60fps of one of my older QuakeLive Videos. It was recorded in 16:10 and features English commentary. Here is the original video description:
"The first Quake Live Semifinal at the Intel Extreme Masters Season 4, CeBIT 2010 in Hannover.
This semifinal was played between 2 good and successful players, in the Quake series.
The players are Maciej "srs/rzr/av3k" Krzykowski (POL) and Anton "mouz.Cooller" Singov (RUS).
Commentators are Joe "Joe" Miller and James "2GD" Harding.

The announcing is so much better than QC games now. They speak at a normal pace, actually think, let you still hear the game, and don't try to fill every second with gibberish commentary.
2GD and Joe were the best duo that quake has seen tbh. Really miss em

after first match it's clear to notice that defrag movement lessons av3k was taking from some of the oldschool defrag.pl players have paid off. I mean g is gliding through that map

TheVanillatech vq3 players cant even handle cpm,too fast and need think too fast , too much skilled for them,cpm players goes on vq3 and are top10 ez, vq3 players goes cpm and get raped 40- -1 ,its simply too skilled ,if u always played slower games. nothing against vq3,i play both and like vq3 more then cpm,its simply facts

Lets see ... if that was true then the CPM players at the top would be going to Quakecone and ESWC and ESL and IEM and simply beating the shit out of Rapha, Cooller, Evil, Cypher, Dehang etc just to take the $20,000 prizes and then going back to CPM. BUT THEY DON'T! Because they can't. Or maybe they are simply too l33t to need money? Idiot.
Some quite good CPM players can mix it up in OSP but they don't ever place top 3 in the finals. I can only think of two times it ever happened.
I can play CPM just as well as I play OSP. I just prefer the higher skill level of vanilla movement, having to control and plan ahead and know exactly when to change weaon. It requires far more skill than CPM. Quake 1 physics should have been left in Quake 1, which I still play, so why do I need to change Quake 3 back into Q1?
Like I said, there is no money in CPM. If what you said was true, then your beloved CPM elite would have been cleaning up the world contests for the last 14 years. BUT THEY HAVEN'T! That's a fact, boy. CPM is for casual quake players. The big boys play OSP.

Kinda odd that Av3k was miffed about losing. If he was terse with Cooller, there's no reason for that. This isn't a judged match....if someone loses, it's because someone else was better. Very simple.

If some of you are using Firefox and cant see the 1080p60 option, make sure your browser is up to date and follow the instructions from this site coltondrg.com/2015/02/watch-youtube-videos-at-60-fps-in-firefox/
1. Open a 60 FPS TH-cam video in a new tab for testing. I used this video, but the video above is also 60FPS, so use that one if you want.
2. Go to th-cam.com/users/html5 and notice that three of the technologies are missing.
3. In a new tab, go to about:config. Bypass the warning and access the settings panel.
4. Search for media.mediasource using the built in search box.
5. You should see four options. For me, two were set to true, and two were set to false.
6. Set all of the options to true by double-clicking on the ones that are false.
7. Go back to your TH-cam HTML5 test tab and refresh. All of the boxes should be checked.
8. Go back to your test video and refresh. 60 FPS should be working.
9. If everything works correctly, close your about:config tab.
10. Enjoy!
GUYS, Do NOT play Quake Live. The community there is literally littered with assholes. They'll kick you if they don't like you. You don't even have to have done anything, they're a bunch of kick-happy assholes. They abuse it like there's no tomorrow. Do NOT play Quake Live. Quake Live is slowly dying off and the community is exactly why.

***** Yeah, I was kind of in over my head when writing that comment, but I still think the Quake Live community is filled with a lot of shitheads. It's not all shitheads, but there's still a lot of shitheads in that community. It's a shame because I like the game itself, a lot, but the community is what literally made me throw the game into the recycling bin.
Couldn't find any answers on Google, but I'm wondering whether they soundproof the players so they can't hear the commentators? I assume they do, otherwise they'd hear if their opposition has picked up a significant item, but I can't figure out how they have done it.

Quake III (osp) is a better game, from a pro FPS point of view, but in terms of today then it has to be Quake Live, because it actually has players. A very small, diminishing number of players, but player none the less.
