Haiti is just like any other country/island in the caribbean, with beautiful beaches and lots of mountains and some crime ridden areas. Im not at all surprise we have homes like that over there but unfortunately only a tiny percentage of the population can actually afford these homes. The majority of the country especially the capital is in ruins and we lack infrastructure because of poverty but mostly because of corruption. The poverty and corruption is something that can definitely be fixed and hopefully one day it will!

This is really a very nice neighborhood, I won't mind having a nice house there when I move to Haiti. I love the fact that there are flowers and trees all over. I wish soon most Haitian families will be able to live in a nice house well constructed. I also love the houses with the red tiles roofs such is safer during earthquakes. I am sure there are many beautiful places in Haiti that we aren't being shown on TV but it is up to us Haitians everywhere to show the world the other sides of Haiti.

The best part is these homes have no mortgage like homes in the USA . People are able to enjoy the home instead of slaving all day to pay the mortgage until the bank or the state take it over for back taxes or bankruptcy.

+Pastor Gertha Atis-I know you are trying to look at the bright side of things, but you need to bring your two feet back on the ground. This video demonstrates precisely the problem with what most third world or developing countries face. Regardless of how nice the homes and beautiful the community, it shows the ugly side of capitalism. While a small few pig out and indulge in worldly pleasures and control most of the wealth, the vast majority are deprived. I could never understand, how anybody could live day-to-day surrounded by extreme poverty knowing full well that people just a few yards away have nothing. It is hard for me to fathom how I could be clothed in designer wear while thousands have no shoes or shirts on their backs. How is it that so many can peacefully sit and indulge in French cuisine, savor a large lobster, consume caviar, champagne, fine wines, caviar and a thick juicy steak while children and the elderly are starving. How can I have the conscious to drive around the streets of Puerto Price in a luxury, gas guzzling Mercedes/Benz behaving totally blasé while being a witness to a city in total ruins and complete chaos. I really have a hard time grasping the whole concept of why the vast majority of us (and yes I include myself) simply do nothing but stand from afar and watch as if its not there, hoping that if I close my eyes and open them a few minutes later, it will go all away or suddenly disappear. I don't really understand how mankind has become anesthetized, alien to human pain and suffering. We must seek the antidote to our callous indifference and desperately find the solution once and for all. If we do otherwise, the vultures will come and consume the remains, while those on top continue with what they have always done to protect the status quo, getting cozy with the vultures as long as the vultures don't devour them.

What you said is true too but unless you are ready to support the non-profit agencies that are 501c3 like my church who send food each month to Haiti and clothes to help them, you care just talking and not acting. even here in America there are children who go to bed with no food.that is why I keep extra food at my house for when the neighbors need food so they can get it free of charge. Hunger and poverty is not only a 3rd world problem. it is everywhere. That is why when I see progress being done even if it is the middle class or higher class doing it, I am happy for them. God gives to those He think is able to handle the wealth.

Nerema Nerma..........These houses you are seeing in Belvil Haiti are not or have not been built by developers. There are no developers/banks yet in Haiti that are building houses or suburbs. The owners of these houses are the ones who hire architects, engineers and construction companies to build their houses. These houses in Belvil Haiti are being built mostly by the 1% elite in Haiti and Haitians from the diaspora who have worked hard for many years while living in the USA & Canada largely.

Haiti holds many neighborhoods like this one, but international journalists won't show you these spots. These neighborhoods are lived by different ethnic groups; however, you would see more blacks than other faces.

some houses are for people that are living outside of Haiti, others by Haitians who never set foot outside of Haiti. Haitians also own several businesses in other Caribbean islands. After the earthquake we have international entrepreneurs who are now investing in Haiti because they realize there’s a marketplace there. Digicel owner is an Irish gentleman, and we have Japanese investors, and other European countries and Asia coming aboard.

Get the hell out of America and start investing and building in blk countries then we’d Lee’s our own ppl be our own government if our ancestors can built America invent everything they invented we can do the same we are smart but we don’t use our brains and we refuse to love eachother but love our enemies

Keep in mind that the owners of these stately homes are do-nothings in the game to change a system that has made them rich at the expense of the vast majority of Haiti's people.

Second of all 90% of these houses are owned by Haitians who either once lived and are still living and working hard overseas. Third of all like most viewers have already educated your ignorant ass about NOT ALL HAITI IS POOR AND FULL OF POVERTY besides Haiti isn't poor Haiti has been governed poorly courtesy of the USA and France because I am giving you the benefit of the doubt that you might be a non-Haitian although I doubt it BUT SPEAKING OF CORRUPTION....BITCH GO TAKE A WALK DOWN MIGHTY USA specifically WASHINGTON DC.........IGNORANT CUNT....!

Because they had a law only Haitian born could own lands. But to answer your questions black, white, mix Haitians have the same right to own home where ever they please NOT like the usa where only white can live in certain areas. There's class problem n Haiti but not RACISM, It is solely on the ability to buy. I’m offended by your question because it's disrespectful to my Haitian people but you don't know any better since that's what the news media want others to believe.
