As we walked around there was a mom pushing her kid on the swing but other than that there was no one there until I spotted what looked like someone being interviewed and I realized it was him so I told my friends and we all stopped and just looked at him. A few minutes later he noticed us and stopped mid interview to come up to us and say hi. Ended up he was being interviewed by MTV. Just goes to show how genuine of a person he was. He made a mark on this generation as a whole, his music is like nothing we've ever heard before he was an artist, a musical genius IMHO. Macs death hit me harder than anyone else. I felt like I literally grew up with him & felt like he was a long lost brother of mine. I discovered him when i was 16-17 years old, he was one year older than me. Him and I were into the same stuff, just livin it up smoking weed little drinking and just having fun. Then few years later at the same time I did, he started getting into psychedelics (Macadelic album), that whole era. He Started experimenting & thinking deeper than just partying, as was I. Then years after all the thoughts got too loud for him and he started heavily abusing opioids, exact same time i was too. My entire young adult life ive related to his music. Also like Mac ive always kept a smile on my face through my issues and if I wasnt open about it you would think I was totally fine. His death broke my heart & still does. I hope hes in a better place, I believe he is. Much love to him & his family.

I'm a 43 yr old man and I'm obsessed with mac's music. I started listening to him a few months before he died and it was the only celebrity death that actually fucked me up. Not a day goes by that I don't listen to at least one song by Mac.
mac died september 7th 2018 and it hit me really hard i love mac his music taught me so many things i would listen to his mix tapes on repeat a year later my brother died of an overdose on september 7th 2019 and i was at an all time loss i didn’t know what to do with myself i contemplated suicide because i felt like i failed my brother but i couldn’t let my mom lose another son i felt that if only i tried getting him help sooner he wouldn’t of died i blamed myself for 2 years i’ve only just now in 2022 forgiven myself i still listen to mac and when my brother died all i could listen to was mac swimming and circles help me every fucking day for 3 years i still listen to that album when i think about my brother it feels like mac’s gifts to me yunno he has no idea who i was but it genuinely feels like he gave me those albums to help me grieve and heal and i love him for it… REST IN PEACE TRISTAN CAMPBELL AND REST IN PEACE MALCOLM MCCORMICK… i miss you both you both effected my life in amazing ways

mac died september 7th 2018 and it hit me really hard i love mac his music taught me so many things i would listen to his mix tapes on repeat a year later my brother died of an overdose on september 7th 2019 and i was at an all time loss i didn’t know what to do with myself i contemplated suicide because i felt like i failed my brother but i couldn’t let my mom lose another son i felt that if only i tried getting him help sooner he wouldn’t of died i blamed myself for 2 years i’ve only just now in 2022 forgiven myself i still listen to mac and when my brother died all i could listen to was mac swimming and circles help me every fucking day for 3 years i still listen to that album when i think about my brother it feels like mac’s gifts to me yunno he has no idea who i was but it genuinely feels like he gave me those albums to help me grieve and heal and i love him for it… REST IN PEACE TRISTAN CAMPBELL AND REST IN PEACE MALCOLM MCCORMICK… i miss you both you both effected my life in amazing ways
