Damn! back in the 70's there would have been a hundred riders and the stands would have been full...Sad. I raced FT and TT back then in NYS and every weekend there was a race to go to. Now there is 1 surviving TT track in Medina NY and the last of the short tracks...Paradise Speedway...closed and sold 2 years ago with no apparent interest in keeping it going. Syracuse Mile is gone, Trumansburg half mile is long gone, Weedsport speedway use to run a pro/am race the week before the pros would be at the Syracuse mile every year but IDK if they are still holding that race anymore. Palmyra NY Hogback Hill TT scrambles track is long gone now an MX track. Change is inevitable...some is good some not so much. Flat track racing popularity started fading in the 80's and by the 2000's was just a shell of the former glory it once was. Even the pro circuit is getting few spectators. I was shocked to see how empty the Daytona Pro short track race was. I would bet the vintage races bring in more fans and riders. In the mean time the pro Supercross races are setting attendance records every race now. More for the fans to relate to i guess...
Go Fast Turn Left Baby!
Damn, I worked up in Haviland and spent time in Van Wert. Never knew about this !
The greatest form of all motor racing shame so few people even know it exists.
Not so much anymore.
Where’s the twins and framers
