One day, when I was about 5, I was watching the news with my family. It was Halloween, so suddenly the news reporter said "the witches are out on the streets!" And showed images of a lot of people dressed up as witches, skeletons and all that. I was completely horrified and looked at my parents, thinking "aren't you listening to this? What are we gonna do? Why is this man smiling as he says the witches are out on the streets?" It took forever for me to be able to sleep that night, thinking of the witches.

I worked 200 hours this month and I still managed to earn less money than Ian did eating that fish. Life.

For the record, my sister had long term COVID symptoms where she lost her taste initially, and for a full year afterwards, all cooked food tasted and smelled rancid to her, like human feces. She couldn’t even be inside a restaurant without gagging and retching from the smell of food. Her favorite food was French fries and she kept trying to eat them but she would literally vomit from the taste. The only thing she could eat was sweets and raw carrots/cucumbers. When she could finally afford to see a doctor, she was so weak and malnourished from getting basically zero vitamins nutrients or protein for a full year, that she required an IV. It was horrible.

@@lolokoboboko6674 after a year and a half it gradually subsided. Food still doesn’t taste the same to her, but at least it’s not rancid. The worst part is her cognitive function has been significantly effected by covid. She can’t organize her thoughts or pack a bag or get herself out the door. She is in a constant fog and had to quit her job because she couldn’t handle it anymore. She can’t carry a conversation without forgetting what she was saying mid-sentence. Those symptoms have not subsided. It’s been terrible for her. She had covid over a year ago.
Thats interesting cause i know someone that experienced the opposite. She eats everything but cannot eat cucumbers anymores.

No one ever washes a loofah and uses it for weeks. You can literally use a rag then wash it clean and use a different rag the next time you shower. I don't use either but the rag sounds cleaner. With a loofah you can have dried up bits and "human fecal matter" on it next time you wash up.

I use a loofah and a korean towel. I use the loofah daily and the towel at least once a week...but knowing that I lather the loofah and rinse it and hang it to dry...I feel alright using it daily. The korean towel...I dont lather it, but I rinse it thoroughly...and I've never really scrubbed my crack with it...but I might try it next time

Omg Hilas story about her childhood belief reminded me of one of my own. When I was a kid we were told the rapture would only come when no one was expecting it/thinking about it and so I apparently took it upon myself to make sure I always tried to think about it so at least one person on the planet was expecting. I really don't understand what the controversy is here. Zack is 100% right. I use a new clean washcloth every time I shower and do the cleaner areas first and the dirtier areas last including between my butt cheeks and then I take the washcloth after the shower and I put it in the wash with hot sanitizing level water and detergent? What's the issue?
It's better than repeatedly using the same sponge or loofah that you leave in your shower to fester in its nasty state. Not to mention that a washcloth is much gentler in that area so it keeps your skin from getting too dry and cracked, thereby forming a better barrier from germs 😁

When I was a kid I was always so scared of pulling back the shower curtains because I was always convinced there was gonna be some scary demon or something looking right back at me. the womens bathrooms having a couch myth comes from when women started to work in factories and it was deemed that they are so weak and frail that they needed a space to rest, a restroom. the restrooms would have couches to sit on and were placed right before the womens bathroom so that women who needed to take a piss could be lovely and ladylike and say that they needed to go to the restroom instead.
I remember an old 1950s-era
bowling alley my mom used to take us to when we were little kids & one day when we were the only customers we just walked into the women’s restroom... it was the most beautiful lounge I had ever seen 😂 One long red-velvety couch curved along the wall, gigantic mirrors & glass bottles by every sink (idk if it was for soap or perfume or something else) but as young as I was & as impressive a sight as it was I still didn’t assume that’s what every women’s bathrooms was like

When I was like 5 years old, my older sister told me men with muscles had surgery to get coconuts put in their arms. I believed for YEARS all muscles were coconuts… we’d be watching the 90’s gladiator show and I’d be like “WOW look at his coconuts!” 😂

When I was a child I was in a store that was robbed at gun point. We went straight to daycare after and I remember the director saying something along the lines of, that’s a once in a lifetime situation. I went about my life for a while thinking nothing else bad was going to happen to me because it already did and it only happens once.
Edit to say that the store was a tiny gas station, 3 men came in with guns about 3 feet in front of us and my sister and stepmom ran out of the store without me. It was terrifying.
That would be so tight if we only ever had to endure one traumatic event in our whole entire life
So bloody traumatic for a little kid. I wasn't going to comment. But when I saw you had to go to school straight away after the incident; plus it was your stepmother who booked it out of there without you. Poor little kid.

As a kid, my mom and all of her sisters collectively decided to convince me and my cousins that they had eyes in the back of their heads and that's how they knew we were up to something when they weren't looking at us. We'd all try to debunk it and try to find the eyes by looking thru their hair, but they told us that the eyes moved once you looked for them lol

When I was 6, my family moved from New Mexico to Oregon, and before we left NM my mom told me that everything in Oregon would be super green. I thought this included people so I was worried I wouldn’t be able to make any friends because I wasn’t green and I wouldnt fit in. It all worked out tho

As a kid my older brother (14 years older) told me that Porky the Pig from Looney Toons was real. That a farmer’s pig was hit by a car and needed a brain transplant to survive. So they used a human brain, which made the pig stutter and talk. The pig became so famous they made a cartoon character out of him to remember him when he passed.
