I was in Iraq and OAR came and played. It was just after we lost a lot of men in a helicopter crash. They were very supportive and dedicated the show to the survivors from the platoon. Needless to say it was a very special night and I am an OAR fan for life. 52/50 resonates with me. It is a magical song and captures the essence of going to war and missing your lover and home. This song will always remind me of a special time in my life that holds great sadness and great joy.
@wu3banga6 I like this comment very much, I am a true fan, I have seen this band live and they are awesome, one of my favs ever and I am 54 years old. My grandson has loved this band since he was two, he is five now and still asked me to play O.A.R. Like the new album, was very glad to hear they are still doing it. Thanks for posting, post more.....
i love their band live.. its just a great time. no worries.. everyone is there for the same reason- to have a beer and dance and have a good time!! i had such awesome times!!
Scott, hoping with the amount of O.A.R. Fans you have that you might be able to help…I’m trying to find videos of the July 2006 O.A.R Stories Of Stranger At the Chevrolet Amphitheater. It’s a concert that means a lot to me because my roommate was the one that got me in there music and he bought a bunch of tickets to see him live that night but ended up passing away on his 26th Birthday in late May of that same year. We all went to honor him. Why I want the videos is because Franks absolute favorite all time OAR song was City on Down… That’s something that always stuck with me because it was almost like it was a prophecy…. The 9-10 of started chanting Play City On Down! After every song…We had probably another 15-20 people we knew or we’re friends chanting along also but the number kept growing after every song we were all bartenders back then at different places so we new a ton of people but as it was getting later and later it seemed like the entire stadium was chanting it and they saved it till the end at least from the memory I have but there was a ton of booze involved so it could be a false memory… I was recently listening to pandora I don’t remember the name of the song I was driving and wasn’t paying attention but as the band is doing there DMB like 10 Instrumental at the end of the song I heard the chant start… Now I need to know if the memory I have of them playing that is correct or if they ignored us. If you were there or ever heard any songs from that concert you’ll believe me when I say they definitely heard the chant… if there’s Any way you can help me solve my own memory issues I appreciate it!!! It was an amazing concert and probably the most emotional concert I’ve ever been too.
personally, O.A.R is one of my favorite bands. I've seen a lot of great live shows, dmb, metallica, petty, the black crowes etc.. O.A.R is hella nice live.. seen em a buncha times.. they are more appealing to a younger crowd yes.. but if you're a true fan of music, you can appreciate all aspects of this band.
Cuz of the saxophone. Annnnnd I saw them live in 2002. Sweet live jam band. And this era (earrrly 2001-2004 definitely the best of their sound. For the demographic itleast.,,.
@foots7 To my knowledge, OAR , much like Dave Matthews Band, supports sharing of live recordings...video/audio or just audio... HENCE...they sell "recorder" tickets ... where you can plug DIRECTLY into their soundboard... they have a problem with you SELLING recordings..but not sharing them!!!!!!
Stories of a Stranger in my opinion was a bit of a letdown (compared with the perfect In Between Now and Then). But they made the right choice to have this as the last track on the album. It leaves a great taste in your mouth since this is quite easily one of the best songs they've ever made.

bem que faziam como dave matthews band e vinham a portugal
Huge Dave Matthews live and fan period but o.a.r. sounds the same live as studio
Stinkbug I think you're thinking of the wanderer
@bobaseball3 and you are drunk, the sound is totally different live
really really love this song but he doesn’t sound good live... then sometimes he sounds great. idk, weird.
The Gap Band is miles ahead of O.A.R.
@OARDarby Takes one to know one, but pirate
These guys look to me like they like to chug rod.
