Wasnt the reason of low profile tires to have a lower chassis so that you can build a taller trailer in the same height restriction? Like in europe high cube trailers run low profile tires usually on 19,5 rims. So that you have a lot more headroom inside the trailer because the chassis sits lower. These are usually coupled to low deck tractors with lower than standard fifth wheel coupling height.
My 2 cents… 22 talls are better for tractors… they increase speed at lower rpm, handle higher torque better because of sidewall surface area, they run lower internal temps making them less likely to blow as they get older, and they wear less adding a few months of heavy usage to their life because the tire makes less revolutions per mile.
Is it actually ok to run 11r22.5 on reefer? And if the air bags drop would the trailer sit on the tires? Just curious because I’m thinking of putting 11r22.5 on a reefer
Hey, I just brought a tractor and the drives are 445 50r 22.5 super single Tires. and the steers are 11r 22.5. should I change the steers to a low profile Tire 295 75 22.5 or is it fine the way it is?
Only if the treads are bad or you can sale them for a good price other wise keeping them on the truck won’t effect the performance of the truck. If anything you will have something to compare if you decide to switch to low profile.
the first number is sectional with of side wall like 275 millimeters from sidewall to side wall the next number is aspect ratio or sectional height which is bead to top of tread, the 275 is a taller tire than the 295, so by your information you have taller tires on the front axle than the rear
@@isaitrujillo2323 rim size yes , on the drives you want the tires to all the same size for example 245/75R22.5 on tires the second number tells the height like 75 or 70 are different heights
Tire shop should have told you that this wouldn’t work.

For steer tyres, use reliable brand. For drive, trailer axles in 22.5 in, any brand will do, as low price as possible.
God Bless in Jesus Christ Name Amen.
Is it the same wheel for both tire sizes?

marcus mccoy your 275 on front and 295 on drives only means the brand of tire like Michelin and Yokohama
