Some of these components (MOSFETs especially) can take a whole minute or more to heat before the solder becomes liquid, while for this buck converter I think it only took 30 seconds. As for applying new solder, I only do that if it's old/bad, or if the component I'm replacing is expected to endure some physical stress i.e. an HDMI port. I'd never expect a 5V buck converter to get pulled or pushed around.
Hey man. I got two broken cards. I’ve decided to give up on trying to fix them. I don’t have enough time because of work / family. You want them? Vega 56 and 1080ti.

I’d like to one day be able to fix dead gpu’s just like him but have absolutely no idea where to start. I have some idea but still need help. Firstly, What was the gel like substance he used? and it necessary when de-soldering. Secondly when replacing things like mosfets can you get any mosfet similar to the one trying to replace on say Amazon or do you have to have a second gpu of the same model to replace parts. If so can anyone send me the link to the website. And lastly where can I find the Electrical blueprints (again, sorry I’m a noob and I know it’s probably not the right terminology) like the one he linked for this specific card for other cards. For example I want to try and fix my asus turbo 1080 ti but i need the “electrical blueprints”
Dear friend, I have a question. One of my friends has a graphic card, XFX RX580 8G. I checked all voltages and everything seems good. GPU is heating, system detects GPU but there is no screen when I plug HDMI or DP port to graphic card. I tried to flash the bios in DOS but it doesn't work. When I measured 1.8v rail, the value of impedance was 60ohm which must be around 700 to 1k ohm. it might be a problem. I appreciate if you help me. Thanks in advance
On an RX 580 an abnormally low resistance on 1.8V often leaves the GPU as the main suspect. All I can suggest is you confirm the PCIe capacitors on the back are still 220nf each, the first pair is the one that determines whether the card is detected.
@@TechCemetery Thanks for your reply, I checked all caps, all of them were in the range of 200 to 228nf. Another question is, what would happen if we have low resistance on 5v rail(50ohm), while we have all voltages?!
@@mohsenhatami100 Unlike 1.8V, 5V does not connect directly to the GPU itself. Likely you have a damaged component on 5V, but since you also have a low resistance on 1.8V, you also have a damaged component connected to that. While you could have multiple faulty components, I'd be inclined to believe it's just one component that's connected to both 5V and 1.8V - my first guess would be the 1.8V LDO itself. A low resistance on 5V should not prevent the card from being detected if all power rails are present.
hey so I "stole" my dad's quadro rtx 4000 and replaced it with my PC shitty 6gb gtx card, he didn't notice. For some reason it is not getting detected by the motherboard at all, I tried switching it back at night into the other computer and it is not detecting the card on the PCIE slot in the bios (so no boot screen :( ). I am going to try ur methods here, if not can you I send it to you for a fix or am I screwed here?
@@TechCemetery I will be watching them. I will watch the older ones whenever I get free time for it. Good Job. ( I will try to keep telling advices like this. No worries :D )
Like trouble maker mentioned, error 43 usually indicates a problem with the bios and or memory subsystem. For an RX 400/500 series cards there's a high chance it's just the BIOS, but for say a GTX 1000 series card, the memory is the far more likely culprit.
It was only a simple fix because you are so good at fixing these cards.

I have a discord link with a few people who are capable of doing repairs on graphics cards, myself included.
İ have msi gtx1080ti 11gb. İ have 6.5ohms on pex rail. İs gpu dead??
i got a short in the 5v riel, what does it means?
The card in the end is the same ? the power connector is different...
The power connector was moved by the previous owner, but the PCB is the same otherwise.
I have a GTX 950, not detected like this, I hope he could come across with the same card
Simple but effective :-)
Im very new to this and I’d appreciate any advice. My questions may sound dumb to people with experience, so please bear with me.

@@TechCemetery Thanks for your information. 😊👍👍👍👍
@@TechCemetery I will check other components, I assume the most important issue is the low resistance on 1.8v rail.
Thank you so much.
Good? pcie 3.3v no beep
Where can I get schematics pls
can a gpu boot with no drmos?
hey so I "stole" my dad's quadro rtx 4000 and replaced it with my PC shitty 6gb gtx card, he didn't notice. For some reason it is not getting detected by the motherboard at all, I tried switching it back at night into the other computer and it is not detecting the card on the PCIE slot in the bios (so no boot screen :( ). I am going to try ur methods here, if not can you I send it to you for a fix or am I screwed here?
Yes, you can send it in to fix. I have an email listed in the description.
Can you make this audio mono. You are speaking from right to the microphone so only my right speaker works.
Sorry!, I'll remember that for the next video.
@@TechCemetery I will be watching them. I will watch the older ones whenever I get free time for it. Good Job.
( I will try to keep telling advices like this. No worries :D )
how to fix gpu error code 43?
Error 43 is a very general code, I would try to flash the bios, to rule that out as a culprit
Like trouble maker mentioned, error 43 usually indicates a problem with the bios and or memory subsystem. For an RX 400/500 series cards there's a high chance it's just the BIOS, but for say a GTX 1000 series card, the memory is the far more likely culprit.
@@TechCemetery thanks this is very helpful information 👍
What's the name of rail he says at 2:44 after GPU VRM ?
PEX as in PCI-Express
@@TechCemetery Oh, thanks!
motherboard video please
1080 you say thats a PCB LAYOUT OF A 1070 IS IT NOT?
