- We found Nick Zakarian and his incredible 1964 Mercury Marauder at the Mustang Memories show in Detroit. It's as perfect as a car can get and has a 427 2x4 combination with a four-speed! If you like this video, consider subscribing and please share the link to our channel with your friends.
These big fords/mercurys from the early-mid 60's are my favorites.
What a beautiful car.
Nothing sounds like an FE.. music to my ears.
Thanks Mr. Revan
Nothing like the big Fords and Mercurys from the early '60s.
390/406/427 inch FEs with tri-power or dual quads, the big input T&C top loader, and a big gear out back to Make Things Happen.
Ah, to go back in time....
My grandpa bought one brand new. 390 4 speed. He won I stock in kearney nebraska with it.
I still have the trophy
LOVE this car.
Love it. I hope to have my 1961 Mercury Meteor 2Dr completed one day.
Evan, you’ve just shown me my dream/fantasy car. I was born in June of 64, so that car was made right about the same time as me. What a car, and that 427 sounds incredible
Great video as always Evan! My first car was a one owner, '64 Galaxy 500 XL. 2 door 390 4 barrel, cruise o matic, floor console shifter. AM/FM,bucket seats. White over red & red interior. I put chrome reverse & baby moon hubcaps on it. Sharp looking car! A good friend had a few '64's,one with the 352,3 speed on column with factory overdrive. One with a 428 CJ,built C6. Also a factory 427 4speed, Galaxy 500. Fantastic days of our youth!
Beautiful car! What a gem you have there, and you've had it for 20 years, awesome Nick!
I love that car, I Have a Kenny Brown drag pack marauder 03 and I love it, these cars are special!🐍
My Grandpa had one of these,I’m glad he said it was an original 394 car so was my grandpa’s.He lost his right arm in 1965 at work,so he sold it and bought a 1966 Mercury Montego with a 427.Wished I had either one today.🔥👍
390 (with a 4 speed) original power
@@WDuaneCox67 That’s what I thought I typed,sorry for the confusion.
WRONG ! FORD NEVER MADE A 394 ! ITS 390 ! GET YOUR STORY STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU COMMENT!
@@Jerry-up8bk typo error Mr. Perfect
That frontal chrome treatment reminds me of the '61 T'birds ! Love it; what a big block black beauty !!
Love those Pent roof Merc valve covers with the Lightning bolts. What a gorgeous car. My great Aunt had one with a 390 Marauder special. Damn its so sad they don't make cars like this anymore.
BEAUTIFUL! 64 was the most beautiful year for the big Mercs.
Evan, your channel is fantastic! Keep up the good work, no one has more knowledge of muscle cars of all years
I had a 66 428 super marauder equipped 2dr park lane that I was the second owner on I bought it in 1985 my girlfriend a few years later borrowed it with out asking and it got away from her needless to say I needed a new car and girl friend , I still think about both of them because they were both really beautiful
One of the finest cars ever presented on the channel! As he says, a luxury performance car. A mix of plain and ostentous at the same time. Loved every detail, the color, the chrome, badges, interior and of course the looks and sounds of the 427. Great video, congratulations to the owner too... Hey, nothing cooler than a Ford/Mercury shirt (or Ford/Mercury/Lincoln shirt)...
Daddy owned 2 of the 1964 Mercury's when we were growing up. "Big Red" was the fastback 2 door Park Lane Marauder 427 with column C6......and his custom made 2-door white over black Montclair Marauder Breezeway (390 "M-code" tripower)
Wow that's an amazing car! Love seeing cars like that! Thanks for sharing!!!
Beautiful car!
Very nice 64 Marauder. Had a 64 Park Lane Marauder Convertible. for 26 yr. Although it was a 390 4V.. It was a great car performance car to drive. I can only imagine what it would have been like with a 427 and the two fours. Drive Safely!
I have always loved the looks of the '64 Marauder. Fantastic. And this gent has himself a 100% classic. The sound is perfection. Beautifully done.
Incredible car and video Evan. The HM sticker sums it all up huh !
Cool car!! Thanks for the awesome videos!!
Gorgeous, always wanted one.
Amazing car thanks for the tour
As a Kiwi, I love the number plate. NZ 🇳🇿🥝✔️
Hey Dean! Good to see you (Ford Guru.) Have not been catching any lives by Bare Rose as I have been too busy working on my 67 Mustang Gt from top to bottom. Take care friend!
@@robertclymer6948 You too. It's gonna be a beast!
You forgot all about the "transistorized" ignition box that came on all "R" code 427 cars on the top left inner fender under the hood.
That is SO Beautiful! BBF, my fav.
NICE! My girlfriend wrecked my last FE powered 66 falcon. It was 428CJ powered with 3X2 intake from a 406. The cam was only 520” & 300 degrees advertised. It had a drinking problem also.l but was a street bruiser with shift points @7000. Great little car with only 38,000 on the clock. I’ll never be able to put those parts back together. Those Falcons are not easily to find but it’s a bolt in swap from a Cobra Fairlane. I’ve owned three of those.
Love the Marauder. Especially a 427 Marauder. Just the name, "Marauder".
i was made in 59 that beauty gives me goose bumps !!!!!!
Sold lifter FE’s are my favorite sounding engines
Dream car. Best era of NASCAR
Mercury was always underrated.
The comet caliente 1964? Took several cars and ran 24hrs a day at Daytona only stopping for gas and service for 100,000 miles breaking a good many records in the process.
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hi Evan! Nick brings this car up to our local car show and lives in my city of Westland, MI. Love it!!! Oh that lumpy Idle when he shows up, wow. Always a crowd around it. Thanks for sharing!!
Amazing car! Love it.
Absolutely absolutely a beautiful mercury
❤😂😊 if you guys weren’t so far I would go to the show too but I’m in California 110 miles from the Oregon border so I can’t make it maybe who knows I love to see all the good forwards over there
Thank you for posting this, i have never seen one, stunningly beautiful car!
Great video awesome car Ford powered forever baby keep on pulling the knot out of them boties and the horns off them mopars l love it
Hey Jimmy! I always appreciate your enthusiasm about the Blue Oval!
What a masterpiece
Had a chance to get one 40 years ago with a 427 in it, nobody wanted something like that then, so it got junked, I would have grabbed it if I knew they would junk it
Sweet Merc
Another great car, thank you for doing what you do for us ford guys
What a cool car! And Mike Rey, one of the hardest working men in the Mustang world!
That 427 sounds fantastic!
GOD SHE SOUNDS SO GOOD!!!!!
Dream Car!
Sweet ride..
Sweet Mercury!
Unreal
Dang nice Marauder. Great paint and straight........not to mention the FE ! I believe I saw this car in 2014 at the same facility in Dearborn. Had different wheels, but I'm digging these. The CycloneMX emblem on the wagon.....Ha, great !
Just saw this video. My brother has an original black 63 1/2 427 4 speed Marauder.
Theres also one 427 r code/4 speed breezeway Monterey out there somewhere.
Thanks for sharing, beautiful car Nick! I bought a white 64 Galaxie XL from Nick back in the Late 80’s, nice guy.
With the peacock blue teardrop hood, slideaway wheel
@@nickzakarian6477 yes and swing a way wheel, wish I would of kept it! Now I have a blue one with teardrop hood, surprised I haven’t seen your car I live in Westland.
Think you had a Cyclone at the time also
That thing is SWEET!!!
There is an old youtube video of a farmer with a white one...big block tri power and 4 speed...one owner...and the old boy is still driving it !!!
That is one impressive car!
Now this is a rare car. MUCH better looking than the Galaxy . That worked over 427 is a great engine for this car and sounds wonderful. Would luv to take a fast ride thru the gears in this baby!
The best line of the interview; “its got a drinking problem”. I will have to use that when folks ask about the gas mileage of my 408 inch Nova!
❤😢😅😊 yes, one sweet 64 mercury that is so bad ass. Take care of that. Nice baby take care and have a good night and a good week.
It was an option for 1964 full size Ford cars.
A WICKED CAR I LOVE IT AND WANT IT
The "TERROR" part starts when you try to STPO that two ton barge...
Bad ass
Best Mercury ever!
The 1970 Torino front end was inspired by the 1964 Mercury Marauder.
He’s right. I haven’t gone to Ford Carlisle Nationals in years.
I owned a 1970 Torino Cobra ’drag pack’ 1975-1985.
Today, I own a 1969 Ford Cobra fastback.
I also own a 1969 Roadrunner.
I attend the Chrysler Nationals every year at Carlisle Pa.
It’s overwhelming to see the variety of different models fully restored. I see more 1960’s Valiants than the above mentioned Fords, and also Mercurys combined.
During the late 60’s,Mustang was getting its ass handed to them by Camaro and AMC Javelin, while the intermediate Ford and Mercury was mopping up the tracks in NASCAR,NHRA.
Today, Mustang is getting its ass handed to them in NASCAR by Toyota Camry and the now defunct Camaro. 🙄
Apparently you have no knowledge of the 68 Cobra Jet Mustangs?
Nicest Merc I've ever seen...
I'll take 2 !!
The roof lines look like the Didge cornets .
the 427fe is the iron. never enough road for that animal. rev wise,, thanks much.
Are there any 427 two four barrel cars still around.???
I've seen 3 factory real versions.
Sick car man- anyone know where to buy that mercury shirt ?
I collect vintage Mercury patches 6:18 and was lucky enough to have the Stroppe shirt to use for my own, had a local shop do the stitch work! It's a one of nine, lol. Thanks
I believe motortrend car of the year
@chrisswanson7780, The 64 M.T. Car of the year went to the entire 1964 line. Believe it or not. Ford made some really nice cars in the mid 60's to the mid 70's.
When I was a kid my father owned one exactly like that except for the color and ours had a 390 love that car it was the ugliest color though he had ever seen bittersweet pink with pure white interior put that car went like hell
Is this the 427 cammer!!!
👍
6:00 6:14
Reel steel .
Galaxy doors? I don't think SO ! Hood OK doors Different body style!
Yes they are 63 Galaxie doors with bolt on piece that meets the fender and quarter, I know it's my ride, thanks
I have room.
i have a pink one.......do u want it....az
are you sure it was a 390 and not a "410"??? It should have been a 410.
Its a cross bolted main cap 64 top oiler!
Yeah be nice the camera person learn how to show the engine while it's running
beutifel car, Did not care to hear tou talk, at all!
Dang, that car is so bad.
