I mean, this is ridiculous. I can almost say that I could have not gone to med school and just study from these youtube videos, and I would probably get a better performance at my tests. Thank you so much to all the people out there making these videos to make everything so much easier and quicker to digest (learn).
I just discovered your videos! Wish I had known about these when I started nursing school two years ago. Better late than never. Thanks for the simple explanations!
Explained it better then my anatomy professor, Ima find out where you live so I can get professional tutoring from a grand master like yourself God bless your beautiful soul
I just started working in interventional radiology as a technologist. This has been very helpful in helping me understand the anatomy we treat in our procedures. Thanks!
Fantastic work. I've referred tons of other students over to these videos who all really appreciate it. Very helpful, comprehensive, and informative! :)
I like your videos I frequent your videos and Kahn academy videos due you both do a wonderful job. Thank you for sharing your knowledge without a fee. I hope you get a grant to assist with all your work and kindness to help others.
Very nice, simple explanation. I was looking for a little more help for an A&P2 lab exam. You helped bring the concepts together for me and I think I have a pretty good grasp on it now. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your video, it was easy to follow for a first timer trying to grasp different concepts. In nursing they teach you about the hepatic vein but don’t tell you anything about it!! Absolutely wonderful 😊
Terrific summary. One minor suggestion: label this one #2, so it's clear where to find the next one in the 3-part series on the physiology of the liver.
My husband was at the ICU recently, and was released. According to the doctor after all the testing that was done, cat scan, lab work etc., that they don't know what cause his stomach to expand and gas develop to his portal vein and around the stomach wall. His symptoms was vomiting, diarrhea and his stomach sounds like he has a lot of gas. The specialist wants him to get tested EGD and colonoscopy, they said my husband was in serious condition when they admit him, do you think it could be portal hypertension? My husband doesn't think he needs to go back and do all this thing because he is not feeling sick anymore, but the doctor is adamant for him to go to the testing. I'm listening to your video and I realized that this could be very serious, your explanation is simple but it's so clear. Thank you.
It does no t sound like portal hypertension but rather a food allergy or poisoning. There is a lot of data missing to come up with this idea but consider one of these.
Hey Andrew.... Do you know what they mean by Splanchnic vasoconstriction? I'm studying Beta-Blocker drugs and I've read that Beta-Blockers reduce portal pressure by producing splanchnic vasoconstriction thereby reducing portal blood flow. Thanks for the great video!
I appreciate the way you simplified very complex things. I am also so happy to watch your videos before I start reading any other sources. I have one question here: what I saw in your video is that Hepatic portal vein= SMV+IMV+SV+EV. What I knew from my past experience is that The first three form HPV but the esophageal directly connected to hepatic sinuosides . can you explain for me please. Thank you so much for your informative videos. I am PhD student
Why is is capillary bed on the liver considered to be separate, while the capillaries on the stomach and the intestines are considered to be one entity?
I love how you break things down! It makes it a lot easier to understand than reading any textbook. Thanks for another great video.
