This was an invitation only show, just over 100 fans were invited and I was one of them. This is the best show I've ever seen in my 65 years on earth. They played a nonstop 2+ hours of 22 original songs set before delivering this 7 minute gem of an encore, their onstage energy is absolutely unbelievable.
Keep The Warning reactions coming, you'll soon learn these young ladies are incapable of bad or even mediocre music, everything they touch is gold! 🤘⚡❤⚡❤⚡🤘
    Thanks!

Both parents enjoyed all kinds of rock and exposed the girls to it all. From there all 3 fell in love with rock and the fire was lit! If you are not aware this performance of Atlas Rise was the 23rd song in a 23 song concert. They were exhausted but as a nod of thanks to the promoter they played this as a special just for him.

This was really their own doing, obviously with a huge amount of help from their parents and many others, whom they definitely credit. Their parents are not "stage parents" who pushed their offspring into something to feed their vanity; the idea for the band was their own.
Their parents did start them off with music at young ages, with music appreciation and theatre activities starting around age 3 and (classical) piano lessons at age 5 or so (maybe a bit younger for Ale, the youngest, on bass). They are the only children of Luis and Mony Villarreal, and there are no musicians other than the 3 in the family, but Luis did own a recording studio at one point. Luis bought Rock Band for them as a present, and they had so much fun with it (well, Dany and Pau at any rate; Ale was too young at the time) that he offered them the opportunity to try other instruments. Dany gravitated to guitar (and later said that she didn't realize at the time how different playing a real guitar would be from the controller). Pau gravitated to drums, and Luis did say that he noticed Pau had an unusual innate sense of rhythm. Ale was first interested in the harp, but switched to bass.
While their parents weren't musicians, they were big music fans, and family activities often included evenings of watching classic rock concerts together.
I believe -- maybe someone else can correct me -- that the band's name came from the Rock Band era, when they imagined themselves members of a famous rock band preparing to record their next album, which would be called The Warning. How that came about, though, I don't know.
Fast forward several years, and they either entered a talent show or were playing at a Christmas pageant at their school, and needed a name. Mony suggested a rather anodyne name that's the target of some good-natured jokes, which they didn't like, but then they remembered their fantasy name and used that. At some point, I believe they told their parents that they wanted to be professional musicians as a band, and their parents agreed to help them on condition that they put in the work -- 2 hours per day of personal practice, another of band rehearsal, all in addition to homework and chores. If that's true, it's certainly a good way of sorting out whether it was a real interest or just a passing fad, but it's eminently obvious what it was! In any case, he wound up selling a lot of prized possessions to buy them the equipment and lessons that they needed. Perhaps they'll buy him a motorcycle, if they haven't already.
They started posting videos on TH-cam so that their grandparents could see their progress. One of them, Enter Sandman (also by Metallica) went viral in 2014. In 2015, Ellen DeGeneres found out about them, while they also launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for them to attend the Berkelee 5-week summer program for young musicians. Ellen and Target wound up presenting them with scholarships for it, and they learned a lot over those 5 weeks in 2015.
Some time before Berklee, one of their teachers challenged them to start writing their own music. It was definitely before Berkelee because there's a video of them playing one of their songs (River's Soul) to Dave Ellefson, former bassist for Megadeth, who really liked it (it's amusing watching Dany practically hyperventilating from excitement, saying that the bassist from Megadeth liked their song!)
They did an EP in 2016, Escape the Mind, partly to experience the recording process and partly to work out their musical style. It has 5 songs, in a variety of styles, that are quite good. In the end, they decided that they liked rock. They started off with basically a classic rock feel, although not derivative of any other band, but Choke and the clip that I've heard from Evolve, the next song on the album, suggests that they're spreading their musical wings -- still rock, but with very definite indications of evolving (pun intended).
Their first full length album and music video was in 2017, XXI Century Blood. The video was the title track, and is very definitely not what one might think of a teenage pop! The album has a lot of variety; Survive is the song that pulled a lot of people in. Their second album, in 2018, is a concept album, Queen of the Murder Scene. It's a "rock novel" or rock opera about a young woman who is obsessed with someone who apparently doesn't even know she exists. Teen enough, but then it progresses to murder, psychosis, and eventual suicide. The third album is due [starts with 's' and rhymes with 'moon' -- TWA members do not use that word]. It's on Lava -- they spent 7 months negotiating details of their contract -- and was produced by David Bendeth.
Others can no doubt add more...

What others have said is pretty accurate. The only thing I can add is that unlike myself, these girls are just plain MUSIC lovers. They like it all. They just enjoy "performing" rock music more. As Paulina said in an early interview, "pop is a duller experience".

On top of drumming and singing Pau controls the shows click track from the laptop and also can control the lights at some shows with foot peddles down by her left foot. The band is on the soon to be released Metallicas' Black Album doing a cover of Enter Sandman so Metallica is aware of them.

    • @robertkrawitz8237
      @robertkrawitz8237 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Metallica has known about them for years -- recall that Kirk Hammett commented "the drummer kicks maximum ass" in regards Enter Sandman. They were going to jam backstage with Metallica in 2017, which is why they first learned Atlas Rise (learned and recorded from scratch in 4 days!), but that fell through.

I’ve seen a lot of artists come and go. Listened to just about every genre of music there is…and no one can convince me there isn’t something very special happening with The Warning. I felt it from the first note; in 40 years I’ve only had that same feeling about Prince and Amy Winehouse. Thanks for reacting.

Nice! The London concert was supposed to be in Bush Hall. It was being organized by one of their British Patrons. Whether they will honor any previously sold tickets is TBD. This song was the encore after two hours of playing. Ale was so tired she could hardly stand up. TW doesn’t usually take a break in their concerts. They have a new version of Enter Sandman that will be on Metallica’s upcoming Blacklist album to be released September 10th. Mom and dad had family hours watching rock concerts on DVD (Queen, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, etc) while eating popcorn. They took classical piano lessons starting at age five. Their dad then bought then the video game Rock Band to which they became addicted. He then asked them if they wanted to learn other instruments. Dany picked guitar and sax. Pau picked drums. Ale at first picked harp, but then realised how hard that would be. So she switched to bass. They then realized that they had the makings of a band and played their first gig (cover of God Gave Rock and Roll to You) in public at a Christmas event at their school in 2012. About a year and half later, they uploaded a cover of Enter Sandman to show their grandparents how they were doing. The rest is history.

London concert will happen someday. We’re waiting things ease down, traveling etc..It was part of their Kickstarter campaign and we TWA Europe members bought that reward together. There will be tickets but it’s early to say anything spesific yet. If you join their Patreon you will get information for that too. Next January there are two shows in Los Angeles and my guess is that over hundred europeans are traveling to these concerts. I got my tickets, I’m from Finland, there will be also people from UK, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy as far as I know 💪🤘🙏🏻❤️🇫🇮

"Melt the crowd's faces". Haha that they did. This was my first time seeing them live. It was a private show. They played 21 originals. My face was melted, then just as we thought it was over, they hit us with this rare gem. I had to scrape my face off the floor after that. I say this is rare because now, I have seen them 9 times. I have only seen them play 1 cover 1 time, and this was it.
Once things settle down, they will follow through on that private show in London. Just have to get the world straight where people can travel and gather.

Paulina is maybe 5' tall and - what? - 80 pounds, and she beats a drum kit like it owes her money and has been avoiding her. Yes, they had a North America tour and a London date. The London one was actually a Kickstarter thing that some guys bought and set up. I'm sure someone will be along to fill in the details. They grew up on classical piano lessons and watching concert videos of rock and metal bands from the '70's. So yeah, their parents are not musicians but they like rock.

Yeah, honestly, Dany's best guitar solos so far are on covers. She's got a couple of good solos on originals, but they are FAR TOO SHORT! They really need to step it up in their originals. I have a feeling Pau has a little too much control in the direction of the music, (there I said it, hate me. LOL). It's just a hunch. She's assertive, and the primary song writer, soooo. But, this is ROCK, and Dany can get it done, and it's time to SHINE GURL, SHINE! Hopefully their latest album, "SOON," lol, will have some face melting guitar solos!
