Holy guacamole Bob !!! Oh men, thank you so much for the help, your contribution couldn't have come at a better time. I really need that coffee, tough times. Really, thanks a million.
11:50 you can also use the - and + buttons to increase/decrease tempo it provides a super cool effect once you are playing live and create a time ramp whilst holding the - or + button in tempo mode
Dude GREAT tutorial thank you. I finally said “eff it” and bought a KO2 earlier this week, been watching a few other tutorials but I agree with other commenters, TE should hire you to make all of their tutorial series. Cheers and thanks for the upload
35:50 another option to change scale is to enter the Code ID when you are on the system page keys code goes from 311 (MAJOR (IONIAN MODE) to 331 (SCALE KEY b)
48:50 you can jump to a scene without playing the other holding shift then use +/- to navigate thru your scenes then when you release shift the scene is triggered
👏👏👏Some great tips & info. Was thinking GAP was GROUP hence GRP(abcd) or PAD(1/9). Thanks again for the post , enjoy these videos and they are great for hitting the rewind so that anything not understood sinks in. Better to learn in simple steps first. Love the KO2 and sure future updates will sort out bugs. 🥊💥🎯🙏
Thanks for the great video! Maybe it's just me, but can somebody confirm that there is no reverse playback for samples? To be fair: this is also not possible with the PO-33. But the K.O. 1 has at least some punch-in FX featuring reverse playback. I'd like to see reverse as a playback mode for the samples next to keys, one shot and legato. But maybe I've just missed it yet. Also I haven't been able to just have the metronome playing while normal playback. This would be handy to practice a little before you punch in record. Sure, there's a count in with normal record mode but this is not really the same. Another thing I do not understand is the lazy chop mode. Does this only work when sampling from line or mic and not with already existing samples? I'm missing the feature from the K.O. 1 where I can paste a melodic sample to the drum section and get it sliced evenly in return instead of transient detection. Haven't figured this out yet. kind regards
Hey !!! Thanks a for the support, got a few super thanks this month, what a good timing. I am trying to keep the channel going trough tough times where I live, so your help really helps me to keep making videos. Again, thanks a million !!
WOW. This is a really helpful tutorial! Well done! Even though this is a very long video it is worth every minute! Thy for it. 👌👍👍👍 ---------- Apart from the video, I´m still looking for a basic "reverse sample" function. Did I miss something?
Hi does anyone know why trying to control the samples with an Arturia Keystep there seems to be a sustain issue on all the sounds (cut off abruptly). Is this due to an envelope setting affecting all the samples? Or some weirdness in the way the Keystep is talking to the KOII? I do believe it's the right cable (whichever it was, A or B) given that I initially had the wrong cable.
They are different. Drumbrute has a more analog vibe, K.O is a sampler. If you want more analog but not versatility, go with the Impact. If you need a versatile groove box, go with the K.O 100%.
Could you use the Punch FX for external audio by any chance (using audio interface, daw, etc)? I know it doesn’t work if you’re playing external audio straight through the input.
Excellent tutorial, thank you! :) I use this whilst travelling as it’s so compact, but aaargh it’s as if TE had a laugh on us and left out - wav export to DAW ( there’s no point keeping music on the EP133 is there?!) - no waveform for trimming samples (yet such a large lcd screen?!) - no scene chaining ( whaaaaat? Even stuff from 1983 had chaining?!) - 64Mb only (whaaaat? Is that the same as the first SP1200 in 1987?!!!! Geeeezus) So in the studio I’ll use the powerhouse MPC One, which cost me just $120 (used) more than the TE!!!! But the KOII is so compact it gets picked for travel….nice one for that TE 👍
Hi! i need an audio interface for use the EP 133? im a beginner:( in case that i need one interface, wich you think it's the best for get into this world with an EP 133?
Love this tutorial! I'm a novice at music but this device has really helped me understand music WAY more. Maybe it's the keyboard feeling idk. I do have one question, I can't seem to wrap my brain around groups vs scenes. I get the use and function of the scenes but I don't understand the point or use of the groups. I get how groups work but why wouldn't I just go to a new scene instead of use groups? Could anyone please tell me what situations I would need multiple groups for that a scene wouldn't be able to do? For some reason I can't understand why I would need multiple group As for example. Thanks in advance!
I know you can't chain scenes but can you chain patterns together? If not, can you use the max 99 bars of a pattern as a sort of song mode assuming your song doesn't have more than 99 bars?
Yeah this would be a very clever way to do it - using copy paste. You can sorta also chain scenes if you’re set to bar mode and sorta perform it with precise button presses. Obviously a song mode would be a fantastic firmware update though (that and re-sampling!)
@@jakewastaken By setting an equal number of bars for the four groups you could even do it just using bars in a single scene. Most songs have under 99 bars, you just need to figure out when the changes happen, not that hard really.
I think most of the fader issues were due to shipping and people pressing too hard when they install it. Clearly that’s also on TE and can count as a build quality concern as well though. I haven’t seen many other build quality issues beyond that. I know some people wish it had some more metal aside from plastic to make it sturdier though. Mines been fantastic so far. No fader gate or bending here.
In your section about sampling and chops i had two issues, in samples, when i create a sample it immediately ends the sample mode and returns to main, so im unable to recorde a sample over multiple pads as you showed. in chops, you didnt mention how to remove chops, or where theyre stored, when i tried it, i found my chop overwrote the samples i had on the pads, which i expected, however i had no clue how to undo that. if its even possible that is. and if not, i was unable to delete the chop effect from the pads easily.
BEST DAMN Tutorial of this device that I've seen!!! And I've watched them all, comprehensive, clear, and consice! Much thanks mate! This was dope!!!
Bro always makes the best tutorials for many devices playboy
The best tutorial video in Internet history 🙌
Thank you, amazingly useful stuff!

It’s crazy to see how good everyone could understand this guy, he fr put everyone on and showed us the way🙏

XNB tutorials are long but comprehensive (and fun 😎)!
Hey thanks for the comment and support !!
48:50 you can jump to a scene without playing the other holding shift then use +/- to navigate thru your scenes then when you release shift the scene is triggered
Head and shoulders above all the other tutorials. Thanks! 🙏
14:00 you can also use the shortcut to undo as an option to erase a set somehow using shift+B (when the umbrella icon is lit )
Definitively worth the watch for quick progress on EP I just received yesterday.
Thanks a lot !!
Hope you like it.
Definitely the most comprehensive guide out there and easy to understand. Thank you! 😎
This is the first tutorial video I put I comment on because of good and straight to the point it is. Thank you so much dude. Subbed
Thank you, indeed the best tutorial one could ever find in this unit, from the absolute basics to deeper things.
I had no idea you could type the tempo in and go outside the 60-180. That’s awesome.
Thank you for taking the time to explain. Keep up the good work
Thanks you for the support and the coffee !!!
Teenage Engineering should pay you for this tutorial. it's fantastic.
now can you do one on the SmplTrek 😅?
Thank you so much for your amazing tutorials. It helped me a lot. You are doing amazing job.
Thank you friend for deep dive!!! You made life fun 🎉
This video has helped me so much, big thank you! I am sure it was a lot of work to put together, much appreciated 🍻

Your videos area amazing - a complete crash course in a new piece of gear inside an hour or so.
Thank you for this man!! Legend
Nice tutorial, explained a lot of functions perfectly. Cheers.
38:00 We already do, we can use Shift and the numerical shortcut 310 to enter the scale mode. There are also numerical shortcuts for every function.
Thanks for the great video!

Do you know what ERR SAMPLE_F5645 LL2 I get it while tweaking samples
Hey man, your deep dives are great, is there any chance you could do one for the sp404 mk2?
Guess what.It will be released tomorrow :)
@@XNBeatsMusic Damn, im ready haha
Great tutorial again... thx!
Thanks! Cool machine. I wish it had a better build. Best tool to sketch ideas and make jam tracks.
Suuuuch a helpful resource. Much appreciated 🙏🏻

This thing has very strong pocket calculator vibes. "Kraftwerk Taschenrechner"

If each group holds 99 patterns surely you run out of polyphony???
Great content. I need something a bit more in depth. I need to see the unit being set up out of the box. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Timing Correct was not clear to me after reading the manual.
Hi! Can chords be inserted on any step of the step sequencer via external keyboard? Thanks!
I believe they can. I need to snag a keyboard still to test it out though.
Hi! i need an audio interface for use the EP 133? im a beginner:( in case that i need one interface, wich you think it's the best for get into this world with an EP 133?

There are no multiple Group A's. There are 4 Groups. A to D. You can have 12 different Sounds in each Group.
I know you can't chain scenes but can you chain patterns together? If not, can you use the max 99 bars of a pattern as a sort of song mode assuming your song doesn't have more than 99 bars?

If anyone knows how to make it more than 2 bars please lmk or how to extend the loops to bars per say
I would like to ask everyone, does Ep 133 have the function of sampling reverse?
It doesn't. Sad.

Anyone had issues with the build quality of the EP-133? Heard they are not very clever

So calculators make music now?
I didn’t know this had common calculator functionality
To quote Kraftwerk, “By pressing down a special key, It plays a little melody”
What do you think a computer is?
Calculators have been making music for decades 😃
Casio calculators made music 40 some years ago.
So trolls inside of people are still something normal to have and show?
Very good tutorial, but jeeez this machine is really not intuitive to use at all. I guess, I'll move to a m8 tracker or something.
Don't stand on your ep133!!!
Almost did this , my leg retracted so fast I amazed myself. I wish the unit wasn’t so damn fragile.
