    Quite possibly the best opening sequence I've ever seen on TH-cam!
    These two watches sound like Polar's version of the 945 vs. 745 game!

    The whole polar series of watches are so similar with unite all the way up to v2 with increase of features coming with an increase in price. I'd probably be happy with the gritx since those new features are for me a one time usage thing but I guess I'm not so data driven that I find the need to jump up and down all the time either to see my leg recovery or run 30 minutes for that run data. I do wish that it had the screen of the ignite though.

    • @mlegrand
      @mlegrand  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just didn't like the raise to wake on the ignite/unite series watches. But I agree this and the Grit X are both really great watches. Solid options for running and the battery would probably work for some of your crazy long runs. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • @Cuba1hr

    Great review. I agree, some of the features should be brought to the Grit X, if not even to original V. I purchased the Grit X after V800 and now I should sell it for 70€/$ pricier watch to get weekly report, watch faces or music control. If I knew, I would have waited.
    I really like the look of Grit X, not so much the battery as watch (comparing to V800). I only track sleep and I charged the Grit X 3 times while V800 only once. Why is OHR still working for minutes or hours If I manually confirmed that I am awake.
    I hate when I can't start GPS activity below 9% battery. WHY? V800 recorded an activity even lower and only showed later "Low battery".
    If I start a GPS activity at 9% - I have probably 10 minutes max on the Grit X and recording is done. The main thing I miss from V800 is Recovery Pro. I bought the Grit X hoping they will include it in the new firmware. Running test is also nice to have.
    The firmware updates on Grit X are also kind of slow, two since release, 1st immediately and with 2nd one (beginning of July) only bug fixes if I recall correctly. C'mon Polar, don't let us down and bring something to 6 months "older" users. I hope this won't be my 3rd and last Polar because I really like the Flow, especially on the computer (hint Suunto's ONLY App).

    My training is combination of running and outdoor workouts. Once per week triathlon, but sometimes not in a standard order, sometimes i start with running. Does v2 or gritx support various activity start?
    I think there is multisport regime on the watch, but is it possible to save more various regimes? Because the outdoor activity sometimes i change with fitness etc..would those watch fit to my type of sport please? Thank you from Slovakia

      Hi Filip! Getting 8 years out of the FT80 is fantastic. That's such good value! Neither of these watches allow you to do triathlon in a different order as far as I'm aware. There is a new watch from Wahoo that will allow you to add on activities in any order but my guess is that you want to stick to Polar. Both of these watches are very similar.
