Thank you for tearing the trimmer down and posting it for us to see. I bought my hedge trimmer attachment after my original purchase of the tool only Quik lok pole saw kit. I read online somewhere and it may not have even been a Milwaukee trimmer tool in question. My point is that someone said that’s is good to lubricate trimmer blades daily or twice if you’re using it all day long. This is not to say that your problem wouldn’t have happened, but I like to think that all tools need more attention just to curb the “planned obsolescence” that these corporate companies planned on to begin with. I just made it a habit to give the whole trimmer head a good spray of silicone before I start and when I finish. I definitely don’t have as many hedges that need maintenance like you but I have helped some friends to hustle some side cash. I’m constantly looking for reasons to buy another attachment like last summer where I replaced my POS craftsman weed whacker with the quik loc head and boy does it now through grass and everything else. I’d be afraid to see what the dual 18v stand alone weed whacker feels like, the videos for that tool are insane. I heard through one of my you tube channels that Milwaukee is releasing a new 2.0 power head later in 2024, wondering what upgrades forced them to update the base tool so soon. BTW I found it interesting that the EU version of the hedge trimmer has a hand guard next to the pole padding. Mine doesn’t have any guard attachment whatsoever. But the new trimmer attachment released late last year during pipeline does since it’s much shorter like a traditional trimmer design would have. Thanks again!!
@aaanton11 I thought about returning it, but after a while, I decided to strip it down and found out that the 2 screws at the very end were the problem. It explains why the gear box was stuck. So I opened the gear box to adjust the blading seating, making sure both blades ran smoothly and checked it with the battery to make sure it was as good as new. Tighten the blade with the 8 socket and torx it all down except the verylast 2 screws and still was all good. I then tightened the last screws at the very end, and as soon I put the battery started up. The gear box was stuck, so I knew it's something to do with the last screws at the end, so I removed it an is working as good as new

It says to me that’s these machines are only designed to get you just over the 2 year EU warranty. Bad stuff.
Hopefully Not! Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 Hoefully it was just a manufacturing defect, and your new one will last.
