From what I have seen no one else has made a comment on this 3:39 This was never in the game, I don't think, it's supposed to be one of the party CG's I think but Hiyoko might have gotten re worked because only Akane and Peko ate the food, that's what i'm guessing.
This is actually my least favorite game besides Ultra Despair Girls. I feel like they copied way too much from the first game, so many of the trials were too predictable. Also, while the characters themselves are pretty great, the relationships between them are mostly either boring or non-existent. Probably the thing that I dislike the most is Nagito. To me, he is a well-made character, who I originally really liked, but he gets so much screen-time that it actually annoys me now. Nagito pretty much does the same things from the first class trial onwards, so there is no reason to put so much emphasis on him. If he wasn't in the game, there would probably be a lot more character development in other characters and you'd get to learn more about them. Basically, it is like a copy of DR1 but with characters that aren't as good.

That says to me, that they were possibly planning on letting him live for at least 1 chapter, which, to me, makes sense for 3 reasons, 1. They did something similar in chapter 3, where Fuyuhiko was going to be dead in place of Hiyoko, but swapped it at the last second. 2. I feel like in Chapter 2, Chiaki kinda changed into Twogami reincarnate in relation to murder. Indicating to me that they might've planned on him surviving Chapter 1 at the bare minimum. 3. Byakuya's 1 of the 3 original students who comes to save the surviving SDR2 cast in chapter 6, but no one makes mention of Byakuya in comparison to Twogami, aside from an offhand remark from Akane, leading to some interesting dialogue between Twogami and Byakuya. Now, all of that may lead you to the question of "who would they kill in chapter 1?" Simple. Nagito. Then, you may think "who dies after that?" Because Nagito was one of the most important characters in the story. That's far more complicated. Leave chapters 2 and 3 the same, just remove Nagito's influence in Hajime playing the game, and have someone else be the 3rd victim of the despair disease (Twogami, Chiaki, Gundham, Sonia or Hiyoko). Now, chapter 4 is slightly more complicated. I think Twogami could take the 1st Deluxe room, like Nagito did, have Kazuichi discover the elevator's secret on his own, and have some other guy clear the Final Dead Room. Chapter 5. Here we are, the BIG one, the chapter Nagito actually dies. I think Chiaki could still be the killer, leaving 6 possible victims: Sonia, Twogami, Hajime, Kazuichi, Fuyuhiko, and Akane. It clearly can't be Hajime, Fuyuhiko, or Twogami (see reason 3). They're all too important, leaving it to be Kazuichi, Sonia, or Akane. I don't think Akane should die, because she has someone she wants to save, Nekomaru, leading her to be tempted by Junko. Sonia wants to save Gundham, so she could stay, but if Sonia were to die, Kazuichi would want to save her. All in all, I think Sonia should be the victim in chapter 5, because A. Sonia wouldn't have died due to her actions and B. her death would be more recent than Gundham's. Then chapter 6 plays out as normal, the cast finds out about the virtual reality, is about to give in to Junko, then the DR1 cast comes back and stops them. The End.
I'm four years late, but wasn't Teruteru originally going to kill Hiyoko instead of Twogami, and he cooked her into a soup or smth like that? I can't remember if they replaced it with Byakuya's trial or if it was going to be a completely different crime that took place in a different part of the story

Saturday, October 5th I've completed Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. Quite a ride, ill say... I can't rlly say my favorite character survived cuz it was kinda Mikan and then somewhat changed to Chiaki- idk. But...I really did enjoy this game. A great twist from the first... Now when i get the game...onto *Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony.*

1snivy10 To be honest and in my opinion, Mikan is like one of those Mary Sue characters where "oh she has a dark past and she's clumsy as heck" thing happens. Also, she didn't really grow up from her abusive past and didn't even attempt to get stronger. Which is the reason why I like Saionji better than Mikan, sure, she's a bully and really mean but if you think about the past she's been through, she's not that bad imo. Saionji was bullied like Mikan but she had more life-threatening moments like how her bullies literally poisoned her food and she has been in some assassination attempts. But Hiyoko decided to become stronger and tries to put all the rough times she's been through in the past, she probably got too strong though but she still stood up nonetheless. Also almost having your life killed is scarring.
It’s still funny to this day that half of the English voice actors in danganronpa are also in miraculous and they literally named an episode despair bear
