First they cut off his hand and lowered his rank...then he got beaten by Ichigo (who he beat with his bare hands last time)...then he was frozen by Rukia (who he one-shotted in 1 move last time)...and then his ass was kicked by Shinji. And at the end of it all, Ulquiorra comes without a single scratch on him and says "mission accomplished" with a look of pity in his eyes like "you've already disgraced yourself enough here, we're leaving." He's not having a good day.
Also all the Vizard masks have an inspiration. Hiyori's is a Japanese Oni, while Shinji's is based on a double faced Pharaoh's Mask with a hood over the back.
[Tidbits & Clarifications] - As mentioned before, losing an arm is a huge debuff in the Bleach verse, Grimmjow is weak enough by that measure that he was dropped to of the Espada entirely and even then Ichigo cant beat him without a Mask, showing us how large of a gap exists between him and the Stronger Arrancar. (Also Grimmjow is a real problem because he fought on par with like 3 Different characters while weakened and he still didn't release) - Becoming stronger for a Shinigami means creating a stronger bond with your Zanpaktou, characters like Rangiku and Yumichika will always struggle in that regard because they tend to clash with their Zanpaktou, going against a part of your own soul means you don't understand yourself. - Wonderwiess is an interesting character that many people look over, I think people should question why he seems uninterested in battle even when Captain Class fighters where already there. He only started paying attention when Urahara arrived, what does that mean? - The space that connects the Living World and Soul Society is called the "Dangai", but that is located within an even bigger void known as the "Garganta". Hollows can travel anywhere within the Garganta, and all worlds in the Bleach universe can be found in the Garganta. (This is how it's not unheard of to see Hollows appear in the Soul Society, Like the ones Kanpachi, Ikkaku and Yumichika fought)

For example, White Ichigo in the form of a Bankai used Getsuga close when the swords touched, Ichigo did the same now with Grimmjow, and when White began to fight against Byakuya, he used Getsuga on both sides, just like Ichigo against Grimmjow
I know you've been waiting to see Urahara fight, wait till you see his bankai. One of the coolest things ever devised by a human mind. You're probably gonna see it next year, alongside all of us. I know that because I read the damn manga that I obviously regret, nobody told me they're gonna animate it like a decade later.😒 &A bankai is a reflexion of ones inner passion and frustration, a sort of subcobstious manifestation of power your sould divides into and gives life to. You are definitely going to regret wishing people to die at least once or twice. The plot armor in this isn't higher than your average anime. Even notoriously bloody anime like attack on titan kill off relatively few important good guys over the course of the series. The things those series do is create more fodder characters who are made just to get murdered so it seems like there are more meaningful deaths
Grimmjow was one of fan favorite but he was never top tier.... Zaraki Kyoraku Urahara Unohana Yorochi could whoop his ass no diff at that point of time even most of the vizords... He did get a level up by Can't Fear your Own world by even than he wasn't top tear
