Recording abroad - Heaven or Hell?

I am in my 5th month abroad, week 6 in Guatemala and have been working hard!
All the jobs come at once! I have been spending most of my spare time from volunteering, constructing all manner of make shift booths to get down my vocals.
It hasn't been easy - From hot steamy busses/ dark cupboards to open windowless massage rooms, finding that perfect quiet spot is a constant challenge.
Loud noises, and unexpected challenges are what makes taking music abroad a real journey. This is the 4th and by far the booth with the best view! For me recording abroad is a true mix of heaven & hell.
My Appogee Mic is working beautifully and I recommend it to any traveling musician. Even with my unorthodox recording booths, I am able to get a professional sound (just need to EQ the buzzing hums of passing TukTuks)
