Tell you a real joke? When I first heard about the show back in 2011 and knew its name, I thought the show's name referred to the cast's wardrobe, not that it referred to suits as in lawsuits.
I regret that I am only watching this now. Every episode is intense and feels like I'm also holding Mike's dirty little secret. Best show for me after Breaking Bad.
that shower curtain is convincing af never once did i question it that they aren't shooting in a real building lol and dona its dona in real life too XD
Tons of scenes in this show were shot at 80 John Street in a residential building called 'Festival Tower' where the Bell Lightbox is. I used to live there at the time in apartment 2210. It was always fun to walk out of the building and see NYC Taxis lined up outside on the street, that's when I knew Suits was shooting somewhere. Good old days, fantastic neighborhood. Miss you Toronto.
The show is shot primarily in Toronto. They actually use a floor of one of the buildings at Bay & Adelaide streets and it is a full blown law office set up. The shots out the windows of the officeshave to be New York so they use the "shower curtains" that Sarah (Donna) refers to. It's a clever idea where the producers rent part of the floor of a real office building to shoot most of the scenes. Harvey's condo is probably also a rental somewhere in Toronto but it could also be on a sound stage.
Yeah, Toronto is know worldwide for playing New York in the movies. It's a great city, but it's such a generic north american modern city that people can't spot a difference
I meant to add that the lawyers are all vampires since all the scenes are them working past midnight in darkness. Practically all the office shots are at night.
@@Cluelessuniversity sure it's for the better. The only spoiler I kinda had was that Meghan would leave eventually what I didn't know was when it would be. And also that they had hired Katherine Heigl but didn't know when either. But it was worthy from beginning to end. 😍
@@Cluelessuniversity yeah i think it's like the end everyone wanted Darvey together🤷🏻♂️ it was very Disney and everyone happy. For a moment i thought something bad may happen, but it didn't. Now i gotta watch Pearson i just saw the pilot few weeks ago.
Awesome 👏... Gabriel did really well as a producer & actor. I enjoyed watching the drama. It’s amazing to see big city curtain to give the impression of the NY city ... pretty amazing
I honestly can't believe most of you thought that New York City backdrop was real, it never looked real to me. I thoroughly loved watching this, Bcos im currently on Season 5
I always wondered how they got the NYC skyline out of their office windows since it was filmed in Toronto. When the scenes are outside, I can recognize a lot of the landmarks and buildings and especially the TTC streetcars.
3:10 I'm glad I'm seeing this just now that I watched the entire show twice. It clearly would've taken something away from me and probably ruin my experience 😂 TV shows and movies really do magic sometimes.
Hi, I just started streaming Suits. Absolutely love the set designes. Does anyone no where I can buy the curtains printed with photos that were used in Mike Ross and Rachel Zane’s apartment?
I've always known the buildings were fake but thought they were CGI-ed in with the green background because when the camera pans, some half covered buildings (by other buildings or "window" frame) become full, if it makes any sense. Never did I imagine it's a low-tech "ShOwEr CuRtAiN - Donna"
the fact that the view outside the window is a canvas was clearly visible on many frames, the viewing angle did not correspond to the real view, and also where the road below was visible, the cars were static) + for such a number of windows the pattern is always the same (lighting)
These city backdrop curtains are so impressive. Billions, a show with a higher budget, completely botched them in their later seasons, getting the perspective all wrong.
Omg I thought it might be a curtain. But sometimes there are sth underconstuction behind them so I believed it’s a real thing!! They calculated all the angel of sunshine. How amazing they are ! I feel like I hit by sth. Unbelievable! That’s why I looked “set” up.
Don Draper no actually it’s still Toronto. There’s just a few shots in the whole show in NY but 90% is Canada. That’s why you never see a lot of the buildings when it’s outside. For example in 7x01 when Harvey was driving a car you can see the CN tower in the background.
The outside shots are done in a studio using a green screen. Once you know that it's hard to not recognize that. Like no reaction from people walking by etc (which can be done using extras but it's not worth it)
Holy shit i actually thought till now that they shot every episode in new York and now its ruined and it will never be the same for me when i watch suits after this
Suits has quickly become my favourite series ever made.
Mine, too. But it shares it's place with Boston Legal.
Mad Men though
Big facts
peaky boys still on top
Allright
😂 I loved Sarah's tour of the file room. "So I know you want to know where it happened.. " lmaoo
She's doing her Donna thing being Sarah 🥹
i thought she meant the scene where mike and donna pretended to have sexy time because harold came in lol
@@chrst4036i think both that and the thing with Rachel were in the same spot

In my honest opinion,Rick Hoffman is the most underrated actor in Suits.
so was Louis..
Spot on
Bro i swear all of louis his facial expressions in his role are so good
The best actor in suits ( my personal opinion )
He got what he deserved at the end of the show
The actor who plays Louis is awesome !
+Marine T Rick Hoffman
+Marine T And gay
+Frenkie Sorry we don't watch the same show...
Marine he plays a torturer in the movie hostel also lmao
I don't know why New York looked so real to me 😂😭
You're obviously not from Toronto or New York lol
I love their chemistry. Its adorable.
seems like Harvey was the only actor, everyone else was just being themselves
He wasnt even there
So true
Right hahaha
The Lawyers at the firm, do such a good job of acting like the cast of suits.
"He gets killed in the next episode, he doesn't know it." That might be a possibility now that Meghan is leaving the show.
Habiba Amjad wait is she leaving the show? why?
JM Productions wow that sucks
Believe me hes not dying
Well that didn't age well
Lmao

Agreed for sure
Same boat man, breaking bad and suits are the best for sure.

Yeah Harvey's condo is a rental but it is indeed a real apartment in Toronto. It went on the market recently for like 5 mil.
It’s fun to watch and see Toronto streets in the background of scenes 😝
this show has got way too much swag
3:10 if u can't work in NYC, then bring NYC to you
I see what u did here
Just finished the show... Speechless
gigantic new York city curtain was the most devastating thing. i thought you guys shoot it in real buildings wtf
nothing moves in the background thats what gives it away
I always thought the buildings looked too flat, the perspective of them doesn't change when the camera pans
Im at Season 3. Now i know that Louis and Harvey will get their names. I hate myself. Why did I do it?
That's why I don't watch any of these stuff till I'm finally done with the series. I finished it last night. Great show!

I came in search of finding out if the city was real or a backdrop like most shows. So happy to know the answer after watching this!!
Anyone else watching all these in 2024?

New York City is a CURTAIN!!!!

These city backdrop curtains are so impressive. Billions, a show with a higher budget, completely botched them in their later seasons, getting the perspective all wrong.
Lol that Harvey and Louis actually have that dynamic in real life!?
Love love love !!
There must be a specific focal length they use that makes that skyline look real 🙆♂️

WOW! i thought you rented a whole floor for the whole set o.o but noice!
Watching them behind the scenes and in a actual episode is just like thinking how you should talk and do things but in reality.. 😅
wait a minute.... if new York city is just a background prop, then where do they shoot the street scene?
Toronto ;)
Magic happens in toronto?
No. The street scenes are shot in NYC. I once saw them filming on Madison Ave I think. But the inside scenes are shot in Toronto for budget reasons.
Don Draper no actually it’s still Toronto. There’s just a few shots in the whole show in NY but 90% is Canada. That’s why you never see a lot of the buildings when it’s outside. For example in 7x01 when Harvey was driving a car you can see the CN tower in the background.
