I'm just using 66lb braid straight through working well so far no issues.

I'm just afraid I'll cut my finger off using a fixed spool😳

Seen this knot shown a few times on TH-cam, makes much more sense after watching that.
Whats the pros/cons for having the initial loop smaller. I get probably less to play with, just thinking about having both knots between the loop closer together?

      Thanks for watching mate!
My theory is..... It's like a stick. If you hold a stick with your hands further apart it takes more effort to break it than it would with your hands closer🤔😜
But to be honest... I was never good with physics 🤣

No issues looks very straight forward and well explained, although I am not fishing yet, I want to prepare my reels, like you I use an 18lb mainline but will need to purchase the shock Leader, slightly concerned on tapered shock leaders. If using does that not makr the 15lb taper become the weak point when making your knots?

It's an easy knot to do in the "field".
I neglected to put it in the video😱 but if you take your tapered leader and cut off about 3 feet you'll be into an 18lb section of leader... I've never had an issue with it failing.. unless in a snag of course👍

Hi, just wondering if can this knot be used with fixed spools or only Multipliers?

I use it on my fixed spool all the time.

@@Anglingaddict75 thanks for replying mate. I thought that it would cause trouble as its being thrown off the spool in a coil using fs and might catch the bottom ring. Im going to try this because I'm having trouble with tapered leaders lately and have lost confidence in the knots. Thanks again
