Good that you decided to make another BG video, the last one you made was pretty entertaining. But this... You really got put in a team of intellectuals in that 6th match. And that 17k specimen is probably the type of people who complain every Midyear Mayhem that their sorry flower picker PvE build gets demolished whenever they decide to venture in BGs or Cyrodiil, then get outraged when you dare to tell them that one need a proper PvP build. Admittedly you were far more patient and diplomatic than I would've been.
I don’t doubt that there are a few folks queuing up for Bgs who don’t give a single shit about pvp and are just looking to unlock an important pve skill, and I honestly have nothing against those people. That’s completely and totally fair play if they make no effort at all to pvp properly since they’re just looking to unlock a skill and then leave. It’s a goofy design on ZOS’ part for sure to force people to participate in aspects of the game that they’re not keen on. That being said, that is a very specific scenario and it doesn’t apply to a majority of the folks who are refusing to play properly (as in, staying AFK in the spawn instead of trying to play with their team). One player in that match was brand new, so they weren’t unlocking scribing stuff. Another player mentioned having played a sorc in pvp, so they have at least two characters kitted out for pvp, suggesting they’re at least a little interested in actually pvping. The issue revolved around poor sportsmanship and an unfortunate tendency to blame personal shortcomings or the imbalance of the game on other players (hence all the unreasonable “cheating” accusations)
they should make more casual pvp content where you don't have to constantly face the fact that you will always be the weakest link in your team because you don't optimise your build to play pvp or haven't put in the time and hard work and money to get it fully decked out yet i think
ESO really needs a combat overhaul. It would bring back so many people and spark new interest. It would be amazing if they got rid of 99% of the sets in the game and replaced everything with class specific sets (like from infinite archive) that augment class abilities and reward with damage/excecute/healing scaling for keeping class buffs active, while casting and landing abilities in succesion. For example if you have 2 class buffs active and land 3 class abilities in succesion on an enemy you recieve a damage buff against the target enemy. It would be amazing if you get sets that replaced damage types for specific abilities or gave you a new morph altogether. Like a set for DK that turns flame wip into poision or disease or even ice. Or, a set that turned the sorc pets into different pets like a deadric orge or flesh atronoch.
Vulkhel can get a little wild at times, but not nearly as spicy as the chats in roleplay areas, like that one tavern in Bangkorai (or, bAcK iN mY dAy, RIften 💀)
The biggest issue I’ve had is server stability and peoples ping. I went into a 8v8 yesterday and some dude came flying in ping ponging around doing about 3 brawlers a second. It was comical.
My forehead hurts from smashing the link button so hard. I demand heals! But this MMR reset/low MMR jail has been both the worst thing and the funniest thing. I was in stitches through this - had so many of the same experiences. I've taken to playing God outright, and putting a star over the one homie I want to keep alive and a skull over the weakest link so I don't waste time. Don't care that they see it. Maybe they'll translate it to 'git gud' or at least run something other 12 piece divine Adapt Rider (LOL). I end every match with the most points, so I'm SLOWLY clawing and creeping my way back up, but I am worried that I'll get used to the newbie circus show and start to miss it when I'm back to getting my ass beat.
ZOS should implement a system where you can't queue up to PVP unless your health is above a certain threshold. I'm like turbo-mid at PVP (although Capture the Relic, my beloved, is where I put my Nightblade skillz to fantastic use), but I always tried to figure out what I was doing wrong and improve. Turns out running a shitload of HOTs and pots that reduce CC along with a bunch of health and resistances can buy you a lot of room rather than getting insta-deleted. I think the biggest hurdle for anyone coming from PVE to get used to is making yourself as self-sufficient as possible and understanding you're not trying to parse like your life depends on it. It's lining up burst damage and maintaining your resources so you can find an opening to exploit.
Well said 👏👏👏 In PvE, we can rely on players who play other roles to make up for what our builds lack, such as being able to heal ourselves or take aggro. In PvP, we can't have that same attitude; we need to be responsible for our own vitality, and I think this concept is not fully understood by a lot of players. I wish in-game resources or tips were provided to highlight these pretty crucial pieces of info.
On the one hand it would prevent the unaware PvE flower picket to join but it would also stop the 18k vampire nightblade ganker who probably knows what he's doing. I suppose though there are far more unaware people than squishy gankers around.
Im thinking about getting into pvp support and I'd love to hear your thoughts and strategies on it, especially any advice you have for someone new to that role in pvp!
Sweet!! Yeah I'm really interested in just like, uploading an entire BG match (or a couple) and just commentating over it/them to help viewers understand what goes on in the mind of a support player (as in, the strategy behind playing the role, not the malding that occurs lmao). I figured something like that might be helpful.
Nightblade is an incredible support in PvP! They can provide great healing and still put out some dmg if you want to build sort of hybrid. However, I think templar or warden may be easier for starting out.
I'm not familiar with the sorc's healing toolkit, but personally, I find myself starved for bar space on my templar healer. There are soooo many skills that I'd love to slot to be able to support my team but I don't have enough room for them all! In light of this, I am not interested in giving up TWO slots (one on both bars) to be able to keep the new scribed banner skill permanently toggled on. A lot of the augments to the skill are excellent though - 10% damage mitigation? Immunity from snares and immobilization? Those sound amazing, but ultimately, when I weigh out the pros and the cons of having to remove some skills to be able to use the banner skill, it's just more favourable for me to keep using what I already have. You could make the argument that it's possible to put the utility of some other skills INTO that banner skill when scribing it - for example, you could put the snare/immobilization immunity that a must-have skill like Race-Against-Time provides into the banner bearer skill and then just remove RaT from your bar, right? But I STILL wouldn't want to do this, because RaT does so much more than remove those soft ccs - it provides me with major expedition, gives me major force (more significant on a DD, but still), and allows me to benefit from neat psijic skill line passives, like "Concentrated Barrier" (gives me a damage shield when I block). So for my setup, it's a pass. That being said, I think it could be an excellent choice for other healing setups, and I have already seen it used by other great healers in the 8v8 battlegrounds matches that I've been in!
@Arttea hm.. good insights about the skill, still im trying to use the skill with the downsides of the sorc, i remove RaT but i use hurricane, remove vigor but use ulfridC, thx for your comment once again now i can plan to counter my downside of the class with more focus insights. Pd: srry my bad english, isnt my main language
Do you have any videos talking about your PVP builds? I have a Templar healer PVPer and a DK as well and would love to know if you have any build tips:) Hilarious video as always.
I do! I'll link it here: th-cam.com/video/rXHTfJr2EWk/w-d-xo.html This patch (U44) I've made a few adjustments - namely I'm running SPC more often than Transmutation in the solo queue, and I dropped the vBRP resto because a lot of players, especially in the higher MMR bracket, tend to already have easy access to major vitality now through that one busted healing soul scribing ability. That means I have the bar space for vigor.
I'm just starting to get into the pvp scene. I started a Nightblade specifically for pvp and I've been leveling him through BG's. Main reason is so I can have an idea how the build plays ect by the time I hit 50. Do you have any tips that might help me in this endeavor? Discord links for pvp friendly groups or anything like that?
Nice! Yeah practicing in below 50BGs is a really solid idea! I'll link some resources below: There are a lot of PvP content creators and experts in this discord! You can ask questions about pvp in the appropriate channel and get some advice: ➡discord.com/invite/esou MalcolM has some pretty nice guides up on his website made by a bunch of expert pvpers, although they aren't always super up to date. That being said, you'll still learn a lot by reading through the material there. While he mains the sorcerer class, he does still create videos that provide some great tips for excelling in PVP: ➡His website: eso-pvp-builds.com/ ➡His TH-cam channel: www.youtube.com/@MalcolM. React has not uploaded in a while, but he is one of the better pvpers in the game, so you may still learn a lot by checking out his build videos and gameplay compilations: ➡www.youtube.com/@ReactFaster/videos I am currently working on a video that specifically offers advice for VERY new battlegrounds players, so hopefully that could also help you get a few basics down, although I'm certain your experience in those below 50 matches will prove to be super beneficial!
Oh man I bet I haven't ran into too many bombers in my matches but my friends have mentioned that bombers are absolutely packing people up in the 8v8 mode lmao
@Arttea yeah the bomber thing surprised me too but I think with all the buffs going around 8v8 makes it more possible. I've seen bomber duos too last few days. I'm dusting off the vicious death! Haha
I think this video shows the exatcly experience of someone who wants to play some pvp in ESO... like with you dont have some kind of decent pvp build, you will get destroyed and it feels like you are a piece of paper... and new players who try to try the new mode will cry for the classes, their damage etc...TY zenimax for the great experience 🙏😏
Yeah just like with PvE, players looking to do well in PvP will have to make a bit of a conscious effort to gear themselves up for that activity so that they have a fighting chance. If peeps aren't interested in doing that I'd deffo recommend the solo 8v8 mode as opposed to the competitive 4v4 one.
Haven't been playing eso for a while now but after new bgs update came out my friend and I been trying them out and it's actually quite fun Not to say this is a super good bgs update that changes everything but more like it's a good reason to play with friends and have a good time with new content and stuff There are some good ideas in new update in my opinion and also a bunch of sus ones but overall idm the changes that much, kinda making bgs fresh, at least for some time
@@Arttea Hey! Actually the last MMO I played a good amount was GW2 - it's really great! Only reason I stopped was because friends stopped and I didn't really care to do the legendary grind. The last few years I've been mostly enjoying the indie/small studio scene, and my latest gaming hook is Enshrouded. I hate to admit it, but....the one MMO I am "playing" (a little bit) is....New World. >_> Mostly because it's how me and a friend are staying in touch, but it's got a few good elements (and many not good lol). @@Justintime2GrowNetwork I’m surprised these gamers don’t look around and realize their teammates essentially have twice as much health as them, and that this may be one of the reasons why they keep getting two-pieced 😭
I think 28-32k health for battlegrounds is pretty solid tbh, anywhere around 30k is pretty comfortable in this meta. If your attacks are feeling weak it's not necessarily because of your attribute allocation, as people do not really build into max resources these days (besides sorcs). Your max stats are no longer a main source of where your damage comes from - it's usually crit damage, weap/spell damage, and pen.
I keep thinking I should finally try battlegrounds now they added 8v8. Don't really have the energy to try to piece together a PvP build though. Anyway, Thanks for an honest look at stuff. :)
PRO TIP: If you're just dipping your toes into PvP, you need to change your gear setup. There is no real combination of sets that work well in both PvE and PvP. You need to be more rounded, with more health and defense on top of using effects that are more geared towards players instead of mostly static mobs. You dont HAVE to blindly follow guides, but if you don't then you need to sit and think about what kind of build you want to make. I refuse to remove oakensoul but I've got my PVP build in a place where I'm ok with that, because I'm not trying to impress anybody with my leaderboard placement
Is standing in spawn and yapping a thing on NA? I have not gotten that at all. It's funny though. I love this unhinged experimentation phase in the new BGs.
I suck at PvP, I don't like PvP but I have too damn many tanks and healers that just need their PvP skills. But if I queue a battleground, I at least try, even if it's a pathetic attempt. One time though I won a match by a landslide because literally everyone, even my own team, must have thought this was a deathmatch when it was a flag capture type. I was literally sitting alone at flags with no one bothering to come visit me, it was almost sad and lonely. But oh well a win's a win.
@@Arttea I love you... Absolutely fantastic, it's best knight fashion I've ever seen. And a certain vampire high elf necromancer will also love this hehe. Looks like she will be my "fallen knight" for some time. Opposite sides of the light after all ;)
Yeah, I'm not at all into the new bgs... Not the maps... Those are whatever but the "low" mmr thing is just not as simple as all that... It's just a one sided slaughter or a complete heal fest... Or someone who decides to hide in spawn until you get kicked for "inactivity" and then get a 20 minute abandonment penalty... All of this sucks so much because the only reason I still play ESO is for bgs... I'm utterly addicted and I'm not ashamed... I DO need my fix though and this isn't it... I wish they'd have just added new content without taking away the old ones... I really miss bgs...
Thanks for the video! If anyone is trying to make a Templar support I think you should use the beam execute on your Templar support. It’s very strong even with no damage in your kit. It’s supporting the dps by quickly finishing the kills, which is I think is seriously underused by Templar healers. IMO, it should be part of a standard support Templar build. One game I went 28-0 on a Templar support game where I had 5 heals and beam paired with rallying cry and maras balm. It can be really strong for the team comp to put massive pressure on a
@@individual116 imma keep it real, idk how much my allied damage dealers are going to feel about having all of their kills stolen by the damn healer Real talk, the Templar execute is channeled, and for me, personally, I am not interested in giving up so many GCDs to do the role of the DDs when I could be spending them maintaining my HoT rotation and quickly reacting to the situation. Moreover, I wouldn’t want to sacrifice a utility skill or a skill that could help keep my allies alive just so that I can get kills, seeing as I am interested in playing as a support and not a dd. But I could see why some peeps would want to use an execute! It’s just not the move for me and for my group comp personally.
Don't forget javelin! I know some dds will complain because they can't line up their burst with cc immunity, but oftentimes I'll roll up to a situation where no one is even attempting to cc the enemy and the javelin starts the combo for everyone to nuke them.
@@Artteaback in 4v4v4 I had dds complain healers weren't doing enough while the other teams kept stealing their kills 😂 imo securing the kill, especially in 4v4 dm now with how quickly momentum can shift, is a forgivable offense. Once the first domino falls the dds can kick it up a notch and wipe the next three!
Shiiiiiit 😩 Did you try the casual 8v8 mode? I feel like that one is a lot more forgiving for people who are still learning the ropes. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to reach out to folks in discord servers for some pvp advice. You could also check out some ESO pvp guides/build videos and watch pvp streamers in the ESO twitch directory to learn some stuff. Rest assured, I was ass at pvp for a looong time - it just takes a lot of practice, so don't be too discouraged :)
I liked the sound of these new matches but it's "Drop drop drop drop drop drop" as soon as the other teams like 10 points ahead. And I had one experience where I got... dropped out waiting for a squatter up top to figure out he was the one holding us "in match" by not moving off the ledge. 1/10 update, do not enjoy. Also, on that spawn with the dead ally, there is no space on that balcony you can't get merked by people standing on that walkway. As for "don't Queue up for PVP if you're not interested in PVP". I'd LOVE to never touch pvp, unfortunately, the devs decided to lock "content" behind "pvp". Jesus there are _meta skills_ that require dipping into pvp. Prior to the introduction of Contingency, vigor was a must have, and now it's banner bearer.
MMR reset, players who never done PVP encouraged to do PVP because PVP update, no swlf heals/paper machette builds. Yup, that's about right. The healer in pvp experience.

Admittedly you were far more patient and diplomatic than I would've been.
Absolute cinema. This made me cinema the absolute.
10:04 Tell zos to keep skills that will be mandatory in pve out of any pvp skill lines. That's why that happened, everyone is trying to get bannner.
I was today years old when I found out what ERP was. But now knowing it exists, I'm shocked I haven't encountered it in Vulkhel.
Bro she jokes about erp so much I’m starting to believe she actually does it. 😭😭😭
She does it all the time!
Economic Role Play
😉
It’s a meme by this point.
Divines adept rider is the play
As a lover of pvp I may have to actually go back to eso and try this out
ZOS should implement a system where you can't queue up to PVP unless your health is above a certain threshold.
Well said 👏👏👏
In PvE, we can rely on players who play other roles to make up for what our builds lack, such as being able to heal ourselves or take aggro.
Arttea still taking these 3 am bullets for us.
Did homie jus say ERP lmao
you must be new around here
No shot , its time to play the game 😂😂
G sus i wasnt lying thanks for that carry glad im not on the un-fame clips 👀
Gg homie 🙏
Finally some good f*cking food. Month-long wait for a video was worth it.
As a offhealer sorc what are your opinions with the new banner skills from scribing.
I do! I'll link it here:
th-cam.com/video/rXHTfJr2EWk/w-d-xo.html
This patch (U44) I've made a few adjustments - namely I'm running SPC more often than Transmutation in the solo queue, and I dropped the vBRP resto because a lot of players, especially in the higher MMR bracket, tend to already have easy access to major vitality now through that one busted healing soul scribing ability. That means I have the bar space for vigor.
@ Thanks so much! I’m definitely going to check that out:)
I'll link some resources below:
There are a lot of PvP content creators and experts in this discord! You can ask questions about pvp in the appropriate channel and get some advice:
➡discord.com/invite/esou
MalcolM has some pretty nice guides up on his website made by a bunch of expert pvpers, although they aren't always super up to date. That being said, you'll still learn a lot by reading through the material there. While he mains the sorcerer class, he does still create videos that provide some great tips for excelling in PVP:
➡His website: eso-pvp-builds.com/
➡His TH-cam channel: www.youtube.com/@MalcolM.
React has not uploaded in a while, but he is one of the better pvpers in the game, so you may still learn a lot by checking out his build videos and gameplay compilations:
I am currently working on a video that specifically offers advice for VERY new battlegrounds players, so hopefully that could also help you get a few basics down, although I'm certain your experience in those below 50 matches will prove to be super beneficial!
@@Arttea Thank you so much for the info. I'll be looking trough everything throughout the day. Hopefully I'll see you in a bg sometime :)
There is still hope for good eso content! 😂🎉
If your alone look into snipe ganks and bomber builds they work pretty well in these new matches
Haha
great vid, I only do the 8v8 matches and my goal is to get to number 1 spot one day.
Thanks! I hope you can get that victory royale one day 🙏
I think this video shows the exatcly experience of someone who wants to play some pvp in ESO... like with you dont have some kind of decent pvp build, you will get destroyed and it feels like you are a piece of paper... and new players who try to try the new mode will cry for the classes, their damage etc...TY zenimax for the great experience 🙏😏
Haven't been playing eso for a while now but after new bgs update came out my friend and I been trying them out and it's actually quite fun
Not to say this is a super good bgs update that changes everything but more like it's a good reason to play with friends and have a good time with new content and stuff
There are some good ideas in new update in my opinion and also a bunch of sus ones but overall idm the changes that much, kinda making bgs fresh, at least for some time
Thanks for reminding me why not to PVP😂
I've played BGs all of like 4 times ever, haven't played ESO in like 2 years, but still Arttea can entertain me with ESO PVP shit
What games have you been playing? 👀 Any other MMOs? I’m thinking of checking out GW2 soon 🙏
Not sure if you wanted a real reply but there you go. Thanks for the entertainment, your vibe is sublime!
@@DustinHarms Ohhh I've been eyeing Enshrouded for a while now, ngl. I'm a big fan of open-world survival games (like Valheim and V Rising) so that one looks like it would be my cup of tea.
A good friend of mine who I met on ESO prefers GW2 much more, and he still regularly plays it, so he's convinced me to check it out. I'd like to make a "First Impressions" kind of video about that experience for the channel :)
As always, thanks for the support on the vids; I'm really glad you vibe with them!
@@Arttea Oh yeah dude, if that's up your alley you will freaking LOVE Enshrouded.
GW2 community is super friendly. I'm sure the reception would be great. ESO and GW2 are honestly really similar in a lot of ways, too.
"o god have a barrier" 🤣
I will give my life for old 4x4x4 BG’s (((
I'm in low MMR hell on most of my toons still. The struggle is real. Hard to carry people with 16k HP.
16k?!? 😭 maaan
@@Arttea Yep. Just had 3 8v8 games in a row today with the exact same guy. 16k HP. People said food check. Still 16k HP. 😂
The 2nd game of the 3 there were 2 people with 16k HP. Yeah we lost, bad.
They gotta be basically naked.
I hopped on my 22k pen NB and got him for a 4th game but he was on the other team. I think I made him log out I killed him so much. He wasn't there the 5th game or any one after. 😂
@@Justintime2GrowNetwork I’m surprised these gamers don’t look around and realize their teammates essentially have twice as much health as them, and that this may be one of the reasons why they keep getting two-pieced 😭
@@Arttea Especially the first toon I was on was my 55k HP Warden healer. 😂😂
What do you think the minimum amount of health pvpers should have? I try for 28 to 32k health.. anything over 30k and my attacks feel weak asf.
@@Arttea Cheers!
I keep thinking I should finally try battlegrounds now they added 8v8. Don't really have the energy to try to piece together a PvP build though. Anyway, Thanks for an honest look at stuff. :)
I'm gonna have to report you as I saw your health going UP during the battle! 😄
You make me giggle. Also, do you do any low mmr erp matches?.... asking for a friend...
12 piece adept rider was needed for those gamers to get out of the spawn before getting orbital striked
True 😭😭😭
PvP time!
That last match is why I duel :uncanny:
That last match has me wanting to become a roleplay main 😔
I suck at PvP, I don't like PvP but I have too damn many tanks and healers that just need their PvP skills. But if I queue a battleground, I at least try, even if it's a pathetic attempt.
One time though I won a match by a landslide because literally everyone, even my own team, must have thought this was a deathmatch when it was a flag capture type. I was literally sitting alone at flags with no one bothering to come visit me, it was almost sad and lonely. But oh well a win's a win.
Omg what is the fashion of that braindead healer? I'm in love with it!!!! Just tell me your secret... between you and me, forever, I promise ._.
In that clip, my templar is wearing:
- Knight Aspirant Tourney Helm
- Knight of the Circle Pauldrons
- Honor Guard Pauldrons
- Knight Aspirant Greaves
- Ysgramor's Ascendance Cuirass
- Storm Lorn Girdle
- Knight Aspirant Sabatons
- Vykosa Staff
- Vykosa Shield
- Opal Ilambris Sword
@@Arttea I love you... Absolutely fantastic, it's best knight fashion I've ever seen. And a certain vampire high elf necromancer will also love this hehe. Looks like she will be my "fallen knight" for some time. Opposite sides of the light after all ;)
I wasn't accurate with my forehead so I just used my finger lol
I think they provide an armory station in the spawn for battle grounds.
@@xo7966 they don’t, unfortunately. That would be handy though.
Theses 2 mod are really different in their spirit ;) and the old one aren't deleted. They will come back at list sometimes.
I heal Bg's as well. 4V4 has felt very unbalanced. 8V8 has been pretty good overall though. I do miss the three teams of 4.
Welcome to Murk-mire 😅
More WoW content!! (pretty please... with sugar on top)
Arttea trying to help the low IQ people of ESO PVP 😂😂
People camping on the spawn spot is so crazy. These new BGs are wild. And when I say wild, I don't mean fun...
It can be really strong for the team comp to put massive pressure on a
@@individual116 imma keep it real, idk how much my allied damage dealers are going to feel about having all of their kills stolen by the damn healer
Real talk, the Templar execute is channeled, and for me, personally, I am not interested in giving up so many GCDs to do the role of the DDs when I could be spending them maintaining my HoT rotation and quickly reacting to the situation.
Noooo not the low MMR jail!!
Get me outta hereeee!!
New BGs taught me how bad I really am at PvP.
Rest assured, I was ass at pvp for a looong time - it just takes a lot of practice, so don't be too discouraged :)
if i was held at gunpoint and told to heal bgs in eso id just say pull the trigger man it gonna hurt less LMAO
High MMR BGs are a blast to heal, it’s just these low MMR ones that are so damn cursed 😭
Ranned through xD
My forehead hurts now for some reason.
8x8 group < 4x4 is poison
Your team talking about other team griefing, while your team is actively griefing you by not coming out of spawn. lol
For real!! They threw me to the wolves man, then had the nerve to say the enemy team was griefing and hacking 😅
MMR reset, players who never done PVP encouraged to do PVP because PVP update, no swlf heals/paper machette builds.
Yup, that's about right. The healer in pvp experience.
TIME TO PLAY THE GaaAAAAaaaaAaAaAAAAaaameeeeeeeeeEEEEE
woah
I was in a 8v8 with you, we won.
Yeah I’ve seen ya around! :) ggs!
You didnt deserve that last battleground x.x
No one deserves to experience that shit 😭
Have shitty build -> Join pvp anyway -> Oh no i'm dying, they must be cheating -> Refuse to learn anything and start whining -> Become laughing stock and free content.
