      I have seen some might good transformations of cargo trailers into fantastic campers. Have fun and let us know when you think your finished (which you may never be).

    Being new to RV'ing I was a bit confused by the different plugs. After some study and watching your video, I now think I get it. Thank you very much for your detailed explanations.

    • @GoingNoWhereFast
      @GoingNoWhereFast  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya.. there are lots of different plugs. This plug is actually usually used in the marine industry. The RV industry used a different plug, and of course your Electric Clothes dryer uses a different one still. But they are all 30 amp/120volt plugs. You just need to get adaptors to get them to work. And don't get started trying to figure out 50amp plugs !!

    Great video, after watching it I did the conversion to the marine plug setup using the same kit on my A-liner Evolution and it worked great! Easy install and the result is so much better than the original.

    Got the Marinco 30 amp kit for Christmas and just installed it with a little help from watching your video. With 5 nights below freezing here in the panhandle of Florida, my OEM cord was impossible to stuff back into its mouse hole. Don’t have to struggle with that anymore!

    We wanted to replace our electric hook up for the same reason you mentioned. I also did not like how open that area was when connected to electric. This video explication of the install was so well done. This kit was just what we were looking for. Long story short, it is on order from Amazon (thanks for the link, that is so helpful) and very shortly we will have the kind of hook up we really wanted on our camper. Thanks Rick!!

      The Aliner Owners Club (AOC) Northeastern rally is being held September 14-15-16-17 At the camp Bell campgound in Campbell, NY, Just west of Corning NY. If you are a member of the AOC, you get a slight discount on the camping, and a catered Dinner Friday night. My Chalet comes with a similar power plug and a separate cord that you store inside. I though this solution was so much better than trying to stuff the long cord back inside that itty bitty hole like we had on our 5th wheel.

    Great video. I plan to do this on my Chalet a-frame. One question - when I click on the link for the kit, it brings up a kit with a female receptacle, not male like you installed. Even when I search for it, I can't find one with a male receptacle.

    • @GoingNoWhereFast
      @GoingNoWhereFast  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The yellow female part you see is the part you install on the end of your power cord. The receptacle is a MALE receptacle

    Would it be possible to get the part number for the 12 inch pigtail you have (at 14:50)? I just want to be sure it is compatible with the lock ring. Seems to be a few different ones online, including the one from park-power which seems way over priced. Thanks!

      Rick, this link is for the smaller stand alone (non-pigtail) you showed in the video still in the bag. No big deal if you can't find it. Thanks again for your great video!!! Been camping for over 15 years and we just started having mouse issues. Took them that long to learn about the power cord entrance, but news is quick to travel. Will be doing this modification this week!!!

    will this kit cover the square "mouse hole" door hatch?

    • @GoingNoWhereFast
      @GoingNoWhereFast  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If yours is square, I beleive there is another kit for square holes. But my experience is most are round, just some have a square cover. You'll have to look from the inside to see the actual hole size and shape.

    That type of plug has been causing rv and boat fires for years.

    • @GoingNoWhereFast
      @GoingNoWhereFast  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t think so, it’s in most every RV nowadays, and it’s even hard to damage it or not take care of it. It’s much better than having a connected cord that you have to drag all over the place and stuff back inside like it was.
