From what James can remember, he was on the Code Foils 1075r, either med or short fuse, and 120r tail. Not 100% sure on the mast but I would guess he was on the 75cm
Hey Logan, might depend on your balance, fitness, & weight. But I'm no expert. I'm actually learning to Sup foil with hopes to try my first downwinder soon. Hopefully more people will chime in with their experience.
Depending on your size/weight you want to start on something that's long but not too narrow. Narrow is good for early planing but bad for balance. I'm on a 8.0x20@110L board and it's great (I don't downwind though due to lack of downwindable bodies of water).
If I recall correctly it is the Aviator, might have customs dims. But it was around the 7'4-7'8 I think. @Jamescasey7393 This was your M2O race board correct?
pure bliss.
Agreed. He makes it look easy.
Smooth! What is the foil setup?

How do you pump so effortlessly on a 1075cm2 foil?!
What’s the best starter board for downwind/manual hydrofoiling? Totally new to this!

What board is this? Looks new board - i don’t see it in the sunova Casey lineup. Looks like a cross between carver and downwind board.
