13:23 no, a 289cui is not 4.3 liter and no, the 427cui ain`t a 8 liter 14:35 wrong again, it wasn`t Shelby who stuffed the 427 into the GT40 it was holman-moody
If I remember correctly Shelby wasn't a big fan of putting the 427 in the GT. He wanted to develope a bigger small block but Ford was sold on the big motor by H&M .
Please learn the difference between the 427/7litre cobras and the 289/4.7 litre variants. ALL the front running g v8s are the smaller block engines, TVR, Daytona Cobras, and AC. We, here in the US, love these cars and hate to hear them consistently misidentified.
289 = 4.7 and 427 = 7.0 cubic inches to liters respectively…announcers are all over the place on the conversions…”8 liter 427 Cobra” and “4.3 liter 289 Cobra.”
No ban on corvettes they do race but the isn't a huge amount of them racing in the UK, Craig Davies is probably the most competitive vette in pre 66 but it normally runs just outside the top 10 as they don't have the development that the cobras have had.
A field this size makes trying to enjoy these fabulous examples of racing history a bit tough - too many vehicles not getting decent (if any) camera time. Three 20/21-car heats, with 10/each progressing to a finale - seems like a better concept.
The commentator is bloody hopeless. Doesn't know the technical details of the cars, miscalls events, can't spot drivers, carries on like an idiot. Totally spoils the race. Please get someone better.
Best event all year 🏁🏁🏁

Yeah I was thinking that commentator had no idea what he was talking about

Well done, Mr Eagling.

Beautiful

Agreed, 427 cobras don't race in pre 66 nor do big engine vettes, all of them should be 289 or pre 63 260 cars
These "big American V8's " are what we call small.....no one calls them large in the states
Pick a car? - that silver 46 TVR has always been a favourite of mine
Good job
how long to pickles last outside of the fridge but in the jar🤔
Cross ply tires should be mandatory in all racing series to bring the action back!
looks like there was a ban on Corvettes... Anybody knows why ??

Is each car allowed to cut across the grass in that one section one time?
Who needs F1 ?

It's not cou pe' it is just coupe with the e silent.
Take a hint from Wimbledon commentators remember silence is golden. Talking is ok but jibberish babbling is tiring.
Sorry, couldn’t watch it to the end. Great racing, terrible commentary

Maybe you then? 😉
