I feel for you. My late kitty who had a history of blood pressure issues, had a stroke that wound up ending her life. Her last night she was constantly moving in circles, just aimless. She wouldn't stop moving. I wound up holding her and she fussed, but she just wouldn't stop. That subsided a bit before the end, but she didn't move much at all after that so glad Oakley is moving around and so on. Sounds like she's getting through it.
I met Greg's roommate Sunday when checking out of the Hotel where I stayed to visit family in Posen. Glad Oakley is doing better. Sending pawsitive vibes your way!

Jessica, It’s ok to cry. I know we all feel uncomfortable crying “in public” by we understand. Our fur babies get into our hearts almost the instant they’re ours and they just take over. They complete us and when we seen them struggle we hurt because they hurt, because we love them, and because we can’t ultimately fix it, and because we want to take their pain away. You and Jamie have done such a remarkable job with Oakley. Dogs who come out of an abuse situation (and I know the people that owned her didn’t abuse her) are a special breed and getting them to trust again can be difficult. I went through it with my sweet Golden Retriever. Ultimately I got 18 incredible years with her but developing that trust was tough. Oakley knows how much you, Jamie, and those who come through your home love her. She’s been lucky to have you and you’ve been lucky to have her. Keep the faith and know that no matter what that love will never leave. I’m glad she’s starting to do better!
Jess I don’t blame you for tearing up on camera! It’s a rough time for you guys and we totally understand! At some point we might lose her, but Oakley is maybe the most determined dog I’ve seen! Older dogs seem to give up, Oakley is a fighter! Stay Strong Fluffy!
Ironically I'm also on gabapentin, as part of a cocktail of drugs to treat my fibromyalgia. It is reasonable good for neuropathic pain, amongst other things, but in my case, it isn't quite good enough on its own. But it sounds her own concoction will work well for her. So fingers crossed ... As for crying on camera ... don't be afraid to. You are only human, especially when it comes to your fur-babies ...
