Thanks mate, yeah it wasn't till I did it till I thought ok maybe that wasn't such a good idea... Wasn't far off lossing it :P Its a DJI pahntom 2 with gopro hero 3+ black edition
wigtype It's the Phamtom 2 with gopro camera. Video is streamed via an added 5.8ghz transmitter to some fat shark fpv goggles. Gets more range than the app setup but then there are ways to improve it.
lewberry6 That makes sense - cool set up! Just 2 more questions... It seems to be hovering really smooth, is that all stick flight or does the dJI assist (or does going the gopro route mean no assist)? Also - does the 5.8 transmitter attach easily & securely?
wigtype Nope, you can set it up to fly totally manually and do stunts and stuff with it but as standard it has gyroscope and gps so holds almost perfectly by itself. The gopro mount also is electronically stabilized to counter for the movements of the drone and keep a level camera image, that can also be turned off to follow the plain of the drone as well though if desired. As for the transmitter you have to solder/ connect the wires to the drone, the wires are already wired into the drone ready for use but have no connectors on so have to add some. With the that the transmitter is only small and light so technically would hang there without coming of but just used some velcro to hold it in place. Hope that helps
Really Cool almost lost it
Absolutely brilliant!! You had extreme nerve and bottle to fly under the bridge. That was really cool. What is the rig that you used here.??
