For anybody wondering why all the stats went negative when DF turned them up too high: Most forms of programming use something called _integer overflow._ Essentially, this means that if a number exceeds what the program can handle, instead of completely falling apart, the program resets the offending value to its minimum value and starts counting up from there.
I was thinking more along the lines of it being a signed integer, so when you go above the maximum value the program sees a negative number. Like if I had four bits to work with, zero through seven would be represented as 0000 through 0111, and the program uses the upper bit as a negative sign, so adding 1 to 7 would get -8, represented as 1111.
"surprisingly this hasn't broken the game yet" as he is losing every race because he crosses the finish line so quickly it doesn't even register. Proceeds to truly break the game by boosting his skill so high it becomes negative and he dies immediately.
15:41 reminds me of an earlier Duck Life game where one duck won't even let you JOIN his race unless you enter a duck that has ZERO SWIMMING. so you have to train up a second duck...

Idea for Brotato: use ghost character which changes max dodge chance to 90%, any wepon, then get the chameleon which gives +20% dodge chance when standing still= 110% dodge chance

You hit integer overflow. Going above 2147483647 will make it go negative. If you make it 4294967297, it should become positive again, but the value as understood by the computer would be 1.
Programmer input here, in most languages there is a hard coded set Int (integer value) and when you exceed said Int (in this case stats) you go backwards and due to a conflict between a negative integer and the energy bar only reading natural numbers when a negative hit it sets it to 0.

The makers of this game should programm every single vertical edge, that faces towards the racer, to activate climbing, this will eliminate theese get stuck situations on really high skill-levels. So i think, the may official skikll-level can be 999 and it still works.
Duck Life 4 is now impossible to beat legitimately because the non-Flash ports are broken and have a duck right before the final boss with level 150 climbing, 150 flying, 150 swimming, 150 jumping and _175_ running.

So that specific integer applies to 32 bit integers, which fall under most games. And the integer is calculated as -2^31 (= -2,147,483,648) to 2^31-1 (= 2,147,483,647). Both of which is the largest negative and positive integer calculated on a 32 bit integer.

When you set a stat to over 2,147,000,000 the game can't handle it.
