I just discovered him when he interviewed President Obama last November and was blown away. I thought it was one of the better interviews of Obama's press tour for his book.
This a great story, I’m sure a lot of people looked at Speedy and thought that he just got lucky, but in reality there was tons of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice to get to where he is.
My Son in college, and after this interview where Speedy talked about grinding hard during college, I showed him the interview where Speedy interviewed Obama. My Son was like "WOW, he looks so young to be interviewing Obama." I was like "He's in his 20's. If you grind early, you can get big things early! There's no rule that says you have to wait until your 30's for things to kick in!" He like "I told my friends, I want to make 6 figures a year in Cyber Security by 25, and they like that's early." I told him "Don't listen to them, get that education, internships, and keep it moving....
I am in cybersecurity it's a great field to be in. Look into azure and aws for cloud security. Look up this guy on TH-cam called Tay0nTech too. Good luck on your journey.
Love this interview! I can relate to watching this show in high school before school, late nights, etc. This show really kept me inspired hearing the stories of other black entrepreneurs on the grind. 💐
When you’re literally a journalist at a local news station in the middle of Nebraska 👁👄👁 But congrats to Speedy and all his success!! I hope to carve out my own lane too one day ☺️🎉
Crazy hearing his story on how he grinded while attending Syracuse and commuting 6+ hours to NYC on a damn Greyhound bus to chase his dream...inspiring stuff
Didn’t know he was from my hood. As soon as he said Wise, I’m like ok, he’s official. Shoutout to Lefrak, 57th ave. Wishing you more success Speedy, and always remain humble as you already are. God bless 🙏🏽
Speedy the best interviewer right up there beside Joe Rogan. Speedy's questions, and ability to listen and not interrupt the other person is amazing. Keep it up Speedy!
Nice interview. Loved the story His hustle story was giving me life. And honestly Angela and Charlamagne were at their most lovely chiming in with veteran advice to him. It was a nice vibe.
Charlamagne and Yee really make my soul happy on this episode. Charlamagne is so knowledgeable about so many things that he can fact check guests just from his fluid short term memory. It was awesome to see you guys give this young man Speedy some love and deserved respect. I think we all wish him the best. A side note: entertainment can just be purely entertainment. Not every social issue has to mentioned and resolved throughout the course of a show's season.
Yo! This guy's take on Lonely at the Top is everything! Truer words have never ever been spoken! To many many more accomplishments Speedy of Tournament Basketball Fame..lol! Great Interview!
I appreciate his story. I’m an engineer graduating from Wisconsin but originally from NY with no license…only Black kid in classes and just hustling to get to my intern…
I don't really follow streetwear, but I loved the show! While my favorite person didn't make it to the finals, I thought everyone was incrediblely talented and can't wait to see where they end up
Love the Hype and congrats to Chicago’s own Justin Mensinger. His sewing skills and signature patchwork effects were amazing. Much respect and continued success to Speedy.
I like Speedy been following him for years, happy to see his growth. But I will say it’s okay if you are still figuring things out in college. What I went for in college is not what I’m doing now and I turned out fine.
Great interview, one I didn’t know I wanted. Master Tes would be another story I’d like to hear from a journalist in the sports and entertainment world. Respect to Speedy (can’t see him within seeing Jalen Hurts) and TBC!
He’s telling a great story about what it’s like to be a minority who’s into journalism, about how the old people in control of media don’t even bother paying up and comers for their work and ambition ...and DJ ENVY isn’t there ...typical 7:37
To my Hispanics, college is NOT for everyone. If your grades are bad, you find high school hard, or have trouble studying then college is most likely not for you. It only gets HARDER. You have to be able to teach yourself, read the chapters, do the hw, pay attention because if you don't, you will fall behind and constantly play catch up. College is not the only path of success. You youngings definitely have more opportunities other than college. Years ago, a buddy of mine wanted to learn but had no idea what. Took some time off after hs, he liked and was into computers so he decided to do this coding program for like 8 weeks, all online. Applied for 1 job, got a call back the next day, and started off at $18/hr with no experience, references, or even a degree.
it’s so crazy how i started watching speedy on complex news, now he’s here
