Great video. I picked my M3 at an auction with a 5cm collapsible F2 Summicron for a bargain and like yourself it's my one and only Leica and it's a love affair. They truly are amazing cameras for their simplicity and build.
i really loved the tone of this video, thank you for making it! It was very inspiring for me in many ways especially as at this moment I’m looking for some inspiration to go out and shoot 😅
Congrats on the first year with the Leica M4. I know it still feels unreal to have one, at least that's how I feel about my 1955 Leica M3 double stroke. It will be two years for me this Christmas Eve. I have a Leica 50mm f/2.8 Elmar Collapsible, but I currently have it paired with a Voigtländer Color Skopar 35mm f/2.5 LTM and an external Voigtländer 35mm viewfinder. I'm loving this set up.
OMG! I just picked up a M4 today! And you are sooooo like me! Scattered but down to shoot. I’ve been shooting for older than you and I just got my first Leica this year… I feel like I’m a snob. Haha. I love your post!
thanks for the video. i bought an m4 awhile back. it was owned by a catholic priest who passed away. the church listed it on ebay i bought it and the proceeds went back to the church. i sent it in to ye camera for cla. it took 6 mos. but it is back home now ready to go shooting. i cut my photographic teeth with a iiif so i have some familiarity with rangefinder leica's. i always ask the seller when i buy a camera if they know of the history of the camera. every vintage camera has a story to tell. there is just something special about having a leica.
I got an M3 in February of this year and I'm so happy with it. There are a lot of photographs I've made with it that I couldn't have made with another camera.
Wonderful shots! Finding the cameras we connect with makes all the GAS worth it. I had an M4-P for a year or two and it's probably the one I wish I hadn't sold.
Love the photos, and great way to make your own wedding day photos just the two of you. I remember commenting on the video you did, when you got your M4, that I hoped to be in your shoes this summer - and I was. I picked up an M5 in mint condition and a new Voigtländer Nokton 50mm lens in August during my summer vacation. There are many wonderful cameras out there - and quite a few in my own collection, but Leica is something special.
You offcourse deserve it. This is only a piece of brass ;) I own Leica m4 and Leica IIIa but after i shot first roll with my leica IIIa it was really the best day in my life. I met a lot of people etc. Moment are precious not camera ;)
I just got my Leica M4-P back from service. Lovely cameras. Look into Leica thread mount lenses. The older Leica LTM lenses are great, and you can also get Canon LTM lenses that work perfectly on M bodies. You just need an adapter. I like to think of my Leica shooting as “thoughtful” photography. I wish there was a digital camera out there that gave you the same experience without an M10 price.
7:49 such a great shot 😄👌🏽✨ Of course now that I’m nearly a year in to owning my Leica M6 it’s become my absolute favorite camera knocking my old desert island camera to second place 😅
Congrats on your first year! Hope to own one soon myself. It's hard to justify a vintage camera cost to the boss (wife) especially if this is my 'hobby' and not my profession. Great shots btw. Thanks so much for sharing your Leica journey!
I have had my M3 for just over a year now which I paired with a Voigtlander 40mm 1.4 lens. I have been shooting for almost 20 years and I do have to say there is something about the images I get with this camera and combo. I really want to get a second Leica so I can have one loaded with color and one with b&w. I also consider myself a fast shooter but I actually like the slow pace of a film workflow as by the time I load a roll of film, to the time I actually develop and scan a image can be months and I don't feel as much pressure to "finish" pictures.
In 2014 I purchased and M2 from a local camera store and added a new Voigtlander 35mm 2.5 lens. Loved that camera. It was an extension of me. For some stupid reason (I'm claiming insanity), I sold it in Jan 2019. Over the last 6 months I have been bitten by the film bug again. Sold my trusty Fuji X-Pro1 (my only digital) and bought a Rolleiflex. Beautiful camera. But I want a rangefinder again. No, I want a Leica again. So to tide me over until I can budget for it, I have a Canon P with the Canon 50mm f1.8 in silver. Beautiful camera in its own right. Hopefully that will keep me sated for a while. (probably not).
My M2 & M5 have been beat as everyday carry cameras since I got them, and the M5 was next to brand new, and now it has scratches and a ding. I personally love the rangefinder style of photography; the way to focus them just have clicked with me so well. I am glad you are enjoying it.
I see and heard too many time. This is most common problem of people nowadays have, they rush, take too many shots that most of time not necessary. Need to slow down, enjoy process manual focus, compose, etc.
We are caretakers of these fine cameras. Use them care for them and they will outlive us.
Getting my Leica 4M soon and I gotta say I admire your photos, this with your kiddo are my favorites and I'm excited to try this camera.
Thank you! You're going to love the m4!

Where in the world did you get your soft shutter button for the M4? I have the M4-2 and I can’t find anything that fits it.
www.artisanobscura.com Love them
You deserve Leica! Good to see you posting agin too :-)

I got Zorki 1 and this is my favorite camera.
What kind of lens do you have? I am thinking of buying an M4 and was looking for a lens for it. Thank you. Great video.

being a hamfisted bugger id be terrified of dropping such a beautiful camera, not that im ever likely to own one. lovely shots as always.
Cool :3 I own M-4 too. With Jupiter-12. Best camera and best lens for me. Also i have Sumicron 50mm f2 but it kinda sucks...

Im currently using a Leica Monochrom to the detriment of my Leica M6. But my favorite camera is a Canon 1Dx.
What happened to the T4?
It's already been a year? Dang.

"Its been a minute". Dont jump onto every bit of slang you hear. Cringe.
It’s been a minute since I made this video lol
@@chrisbphoto Well played 👍
