Hey guys awesome video!! I've been doing up my own 2005 Transit, and it's almost finished!! Huge thanks to you as I've come from a place of very little prior knowledge and managed to create something I'm quite proud of all with the help of many rewatches of your videos. Really glad to hear you'll be doing consulting, certainly a service I would have used if I was just starting out. Thanks again for everything you've shared!
@@saltyvanventures my transit arrives in march 23. I hope to have all the shit I need before then, keeping the bunnings trips down to a dozen. Those snags prices will add up!
If it's anything like my experience, 50+ visits to Bunnings. I'm at more than that atm, but started with no experience, tools, or materials. And yep to screws in the thousands being legit.
Hey man well done. Your van resale would be worth double you spent. Very inspiring brutha. Cheers from Melbourne. 77 times. It would cool to see the shower work man. Such unique design.
Awesome breakdown guys definitely helpful to see those little extra things you don’t think of like getting the cushions sewed etc. definitely keeping this it in mind as mid build at the moment.
Taking your time and doing it right will pay it forward for years to come , as far as the money Australia and Canada are the same ish We just finished our more basic week ender van and it cost $10,000 CDN p;us the van.....eh
Very true. Do It right the first time round and avoid re doing it later down the track! You can save a lot of money if you really want too. Being smart with what you buy and what brands you need for reliability and then saving money when you don’t need to buy top of the line!
Stroooth mate .. i.had to get me shoes n socks orff there at one stage doin me sums .. overall i pretty dam good outcome what ..😍😎😁pip pips and carryon pilgrims
51? Gotta be close.
Sooo close, but not it!
52?
36 trips to bunnings I spent a lot of time there as I am now a retired builder, love your campervan, all the best ,Steve .
bit further north than 36! Cheers Steve! Hope you're enjoying your retirement!
Great video! I loved the van build, I’m gonna say at least 80 trips to Bunnings
Not quite 80!

Well done! Good luck with van. Enjoyed your blogs. B
Thank you! 🙂
49 trips to Bunnings. I love the sharing. Such a gorgeous build guys.
Closest answer so far! And thank you!

35 trips to Bunnings, lol.. Thank you, it's great to have an idea on costs..
I wish it was only 35 trips to Bunnings! Maybe I should have also factored in fuel driving to and from Bunnings over and over 😂
Let’s go with 60 (my van build is probably more than that already). Great idea to offer van consulting. You explain things so well
Very close. Ill give you a hint its between 52 and 60
Just got my van today needed this video thanks bloke
No problem mate! Hope it’s helpful!
Congratulations on a great build. Best wishes for the new venture.
Thank you! Looking forward to helping more people out there to chase the van life and joys of creating theirs own home on wheels
What paint did you use on the plywood to get the white finish you have, thanks
We uses dulux wash and wear interior semi gloss paint.
Awesome van!
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
This and all your videos really helped.
Your welcome! Glad to be of assistance!

I’ll give you a hint. It’s above 50! And that was me trying to buy in bulk as much as possible haha!
thanks guys, super inspiring stuff!! Are you a carpenter Marcel? your woodworking skills were really impressive!
I get that question a lot! No not a carpenter, I’m an engineer actually. But I’ve always loved working with wood and building things

That’s mate. Appreciate it

Yes there an so many little costs that eventually add up quite a bit you wouldn’t think about until you actually start converting it!

Pretty happy with how much we spent. Didn’t go over budget which is always nice
How is the electrical so cheap? Those batteries alone are like 1k each?
that specific battery was $400 on presale
i'm gonna say 38 trips to Bunnings. Maybe that's too conservative, lol. I've been 3 times and I haven't really even started!
I’ll give you a hint! It’s higher 😂
@@saltyvanventures ha! Ok, next guess is what it will probably take me (if I'm lucky) 55 trips!
Oh hang on 😂 I've been 3 times in 1 weekend.. been thinking the build might take a year.. I could be out by a mile lol
Is there a reason you opted for no toilet?
We do have a toilet 😀
Hah this sounds like a budget build compared to what I’m running into! Jeez! Good price out but dang my wallet hates me. My electrical alone was $8k 😳
its amazing how much you can save if you spend smart!
I spotted a lot of Bunnings receipts in there 😂😂😂
Yes nearly exclusively Bunnings! But how many!
33 times to the hardware store???
⬆️ ⬆️ ⬆️
i would just sleep on a cot , what you have done is alot work and money added stress, alot weight god !
thats the difference between surviving and living
No AC???
Why do you need AC?

Your the closest so far but still not correct!
@@saltyvanventures haha fair. 68 is the winner.
To all you Americans out there who dont believe that Australia is the most expensive place on Earth, here is your proof.

I’m glad it wasn’t that high
