  • This is a quick and easy tutorial in which I show you how to sew a tote bag using fat quarters! The purse can then be embellished with this cute flower for additional detail. This is a great beginner project. I have made a few of these baseball themed totes to sell in my Etsy shop. I have linked my shop below if you would rather purchase a pre-made purse/tote instead. I do welcome custom requests. I hope you enjoy this tutorial! xoxo

    I’m new/beginner to sewing and I definitely want to try to make this. You make all the instructions easy to follow so thanks! Question tho. What type of fusible interfacing did you use? Featherweight? Heavyweight? Wonder Under? Lovee the patterns you chose on this one!

    I thought I was doing really well making this bag, but when it came to bagging out, I found my beautiful handles are on the inside between the lining and main fabric? What have I done wrong? Hopefully it can be rectified! Put all my blood sweat and tears into it. First time I have made a tote bag!

  • @mariadavis7067
    @mariadavis7067 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm new to sewing. What are the sizes of each piece? The lining is the same size as the main piece, but did you cut them? The zig zag material was cut to what size? Thanks!

    How do you sew up the hole you pull everything through at the end? It’s right on top and seems like it would be noticeable.

    I finally worked up the courage after 23 years of sewing to use interfacing because of this video. Thank you so much. I did notice the bag was a lot cleaner looking after I turned it inside out so next time I think I'll be putting the interfacing on the lining instead of the outer fabric. Thank you so much for this video.

    I've made a ton of these from watching Jennifer on Shabby Fabrics. You do a much better tutorial. Jennifer can be hard to follow for new sewers.

    What are the specifics of thr fusible interfacing you use in this tutorial? I would like to try this product but have never worked with interfacing and am finding there are many different kinds/weights.. Etc.

    • @homewithkimberly6648
      @homewithkimberly6648  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can really use any kind you want. I would suggest a foam interfacing for a sturdier purse. You can choose whatever you want and just follow the instructions on the particular material that you pick out.

    Hi there! Can you help me with the interfacing? I’m in the U.K. and not sure what to buy. Is this fusible fleece or a heavier weight interfacing? X

    • @homewithkimberly6648
      @homewithkimberly6648  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Gillian! I know I had used a foam interfacing when I wanted a more chunkier, and sturdier bag. For the purposes of this video that I did, I do believe I used a fusible interfacing. I want to say it was a medium weight. I believe fusible interfacing comes in different weights, and I tend to like the thicker ones to give these bags more structure. Hope this helps.
