HALO always takes me back to the time in my life when this boy became a man. I bought the Xbox and HALO to play with my buds during down time during my US Army Artillery Officer Basic Course. A month after graduating that school I was with my first unit and two months after that my life became a real FPS during the Invasion of Iraq.

I recently watched the Netflix Documentary Untold: The Rise and Fall of AND1, it’s got a really interesting story to it, Street Hoops was one of the branded AND1 games that features a couple of streetballers popular at the time including Headache, Hot Sauce, Main Event, AO, and you can even play as various rappers as unlockable characters. It’s even one of the few Xbox games that supports 720p tho the game doesn’t support widescreen.
Yeah I love to see games take advantage of 780p and above. I might have to check that game out.
Street Hoops is one of my favorite games. I played the hell out of it with my brother and my cousin on Gamecube. I then ended up getting it for Xbox and playing it with an old pair of friends from middle school. Just a great game if you're into street ball.
I had all of these. I would wait every month for the mailman to give me my copy. The demos were by far the best part. Thanks for the great memories.👍

Sometimes they did special Xmas ones. I have one of Canon Fodder with a Xmas theme. That one was for the Amiga 500 and PC but it was still really cool lol.
I used to have an OXM subscription back in about 06 for a number of years! Before then I would find them in stores I was just a kid, 10 ish years old. I always knew about what was coming out before my school friends. I recently got a modded Xbox so I’ll have to explore these old discs.

Truly sad Brute Force didn't get more love. It had great environment variety, four unique characters that each had a distinctive playstyle, a halfway decent story that contectuallized the action set in a pretty dark military-sci-fi universe and tons of punchy weapons. One of those rare games I played as a kid, then truly appreciated playing as an adult. Seriously play it if you haven't.
I was able to buy all the OXM demo disk from eBay a few years ago and this video reminds me I should eventually start trying them all out! It definitely fits in my Xbox memorabilia collection perfectly! Keep these videos up
Hey mate, I managed to get near mint copies of 50 cent blood on the sand and Syndicate for 360 today. Also have Spec Ops the Line arriving next week as well as Stellar Blade later today.

I have plenty of these Magazines too for 360 and Original Xbox for both English and Australian but sadly most of the discs have been lost during moving house over the
I used to buy the imports which were pretty costly here at $17.95 each from England but some had as much as 20 game demos.
I was very lucky that a local news agency ended up stocking them too.
I haven't played the 50 Cent game but I want to! Spec Ops the Line is excellent though that's a great pick.

Brute Force should get a remaster

The Top Plays (3 through 1) of Halo CE was before Mint Blitz's time. Wow!
Love that this is early enough in Halo's life that they still refer to cheif as the "cyborg." 😂 I always found that term to be strangely out of place, even back in the day. If you read the multiplayer gametype descriptions, there are many references to "cyborgs" (Spartans).
Tina Costume 3 is a definite winner.
I only had one of these growing up it was the disc that had the demo for the game Alice i remember it kinda played like splinter cell no idea where i got it as i never had the magazine

I had a ps2 and Xbox back in the day, once i got the Xbox i definitely played that more. When I'd go sleep over a friends house I'd usually bring the Xbox and we would just play that the whole time, wouldn't even touch their ps2.
I was very similar. None of my friends had Xbox's so it was always a huge novelty bringing it over and playing something like Halo.
I haven’t watched that Halo feature in forever lol kind of a prelude to all the Bungie ViDocs that would come later. Fun fact, one of the guys talking in that video - Shi Kai Wang (Shiek) is still at Bungie as one the art leads.
Also, at the beginning you showed the actual magazine for this disc and I noticed it was the one previewing Brute Force. I still remember them billing that game as “the next Halo” lol they even had the UI guy from Halo do the UI for Brute Force, which is why the aiming reticule for Brute Force look just very much like Halo’s lol.
Last think I’ll say is that back when it came out Max Payne was such an underrated game. Its developed a following in the years since but back when it came out it was a pretty unknown game but I had so much fun with it.
Oh that really cool I love to hear that they're still at Bungie! Yeah I remember being hyped up for Brute Force and now that you mention it the UI does have a very similar vibe.
Yeah I remember seeing the cover for Max Payne and being mesmerized by it, but it took me way too long to play it.

God I miss this Xbox. They cared about gaming, about creating great IPs. It’s amazing how far Xbox has fallen since the end of the 360. When gears of war 2 launched. I truly thought they were giving Sony a big fight. Now…..

found demo discs were a nice easy way to test out games for yourself to see if you would enjoy it instead of basing it off others opinions.

Holy Fuck! I can't even Curse/Swear correctly I'm so pleasantly surprised to see your Video Thumbnail pop up in my feed! I was HUGE on Demo Discs! I was into OG Xbox & The Xbox Magazine so Heavy! But I def would get so many different Magazines monthly it's wild! PSM, EGM,etc I've discovered so many games through them & Played some like they were the "Full Game"! 😂 It's so Dope to find out, in the more recent years, that there are other gamers who legitimately loved Demo Discs the way I did! None of my friends appreciated them the way I did at all! 😏& They would randomly "Pop Up" in the wildest places! Pizza Hut even had Demos, & they were Dope AF! Metal Gear Solid was on a Pizza Hut one! I'll never forget getting the FF7 Demo in Tobal No. 1!!! Such a great time to be a gamer! 🤘🏽🫡
