"make the best of death
, and love what's left. you're not just a time bomb, just cause you went off, don't mean your scattered everywhere, it's still there, in the palms of your hand
, just give it one more chance, don't wait to understand, just find a new way." I adore Weyes Blood and everything she does. This song just hits different since the death of my 21 year old son, which I found out in May, his body found in a pond. I'm really trying to find a new way... one more day.
I'm so sorry.
You have my deepest sympathy, though no words can possible fill that void. ❤
this is genuinely the saddest song i've ever heard and i love it far too much
It's like she has an old soul that has seen the pain, tragedy and hardships of a thousand lifetimes.
I will never get anything done tonight. I'm pretty much lost in Weyes Blood videos.
i saw her live recently at her melbourne show and this song was something else entirely. i feel so lucky to have heard this live
The superior artist.
Sometimes feeling incredibly sad can be a good thing, this song is great
i listened to this song all winter long while taking walks against the river with my dog, the video is charming. Thanks for your beautiful and honest creation.
how can someone dislike this masterpiece? thanks lana del rey for making me discover this incredible artist
She's older than lana
Jeed shes 3 years younger than lana
@@jed6040 What does age have to do with anything?
Bruhh this is soo good because not only do her lyrics vividly describe a really sad circumstance but then she makes it motivational at the end and theres actually a message instead of just being sad
I swear the waterworks start every single time I listen to this the second she starts harmonizing with herself. Really just a phenomenal song, it's like an aural representation of weeping as you hug your mother.
I’m in love with her voice
Weyes Blood
[Verse 1]
Get out of bed
Put on some clothes
And find your shoes
At least there's nothing more
You could really lose, now is there?
[Verse 2]
Drink a cup, had enough
The sky don't shine on me anymore
Since I been staring here at this floor
For too many days
Lost my way
And got on this train that's running away
It's carried me this far
But now I can't stay
Now, oh-oh
[Chorus]
Pretty bad magic
Pretty tragic
On a runaway train
And I'm not going insane
Things just don't stay the same
And I must find a new way
[Verse 3]
Make the best of death
And love what's left
You're not just a time bomb
Just 'cause you went off
Don't mean you're scattered
Everywhere
It's still there in the palms of your hands
Just give it one more chance
Don't wait to understand
Just find a new way
[Chorus]
Pretty bad magic
Pretty tragic
On a runaway train
And I'm not going insane
Things just don't stay the same
And I must find a new way
[Post-Chorus]
One more day
My soul can give
It'll work out for me
When I need the man
That makes the blind see
Through me
See through me
See through me
This song kept me alive at a time when living was the last thing on my mind. I wonder if this poetic melancholic genius knows how many souls her graceful witty poignant songs have touched and rescued in the deep heart's core.
right were the feelings are stored
weyes' mvs were all precious, i feel happy and sad at the same time
I play this song to cry frequently these days. Just have a lot of things to let go. "Don't wait to understand, just find a new way".
This is pure poetry that purifies your soul
my absolute favorite song ever ngl i feel euphoria every time i hear this
Gorgeous song
To any Flannery O'Connor fans, do you think the line about the man who "makes the blind see" might be a reference to the book WISE BLOOD? I'm thinking of the blind preacher character and how he feels he's more aware through his connection with god, despite not having eyes.
Almost certainly, Weyes Blood used to be called Wise Blood after the novel! She performed as Wise Blood at the age of 15.
Yeah. I read that book, and it kind of felt like someone vomiting in my face. But, it also has some pretty brilliant commentary on legalisms.
I really hope I get to see this live, it’s so beautiful
this depressed me in an instant ;_;
Is there anything more beautiful and sad as this song and the way it's sung? ❤
This song is a perfect encapsulation of the human experience.
Beautiful!
beautiful voice song and video!
disturbingly stunning voice and song!! I'm sooo uncomfortable
Incredible.
Beautiful.
amazing video
Obsessed. 👍🏻
MDS QUE BANDA INCRIVELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL PQP , ME APAIXONEI .

Releases the drone like it's a bird
holy shit
@macaaan so tragic that
magic it don't shine any more
Ave Maria
This is her Song to a Siren
Wow
A serve
Pretty bad magic...
anyone know if this is standard tuning?
Yeah, it's standard tuning. Really lovely chord progression tbh, that III - V - I movement is so emotionally charged, especially with the vocal harmonies over it.
for those who dig this amazing song and wouldn't know Buffy Sainte Marie yet, I advise you try her stuff, like this for exemple : th-cam.com/video/i-GonR4S1to/w-d-xo.html
Weyes summons the same kind of magic here, the voice is even similar
Why'd you have to scare those birds away :(
jesus namedrop
Beth Gibbons+Tim Buckley+Karen Carpenter.
+ joan baez + enya + marissa nadler
@@freakman153 + lana del rey + hope sandoval + victoria lagrand + florence welch
If you like this you might like Aldous Harding as well.
+ Joanna Newsom + Joni Mitchell
no se si lo sepas, pero te extraño
So she went from Karen Carpenter to JS Bach!
Very Righteous Brothers meets Laurie Anderson by way of Emily Dickinson.
Reminds me of early Muse in a way.
Naw - they are shite! Like a poundshop Radiohead...
@@artpress8240 lol they suck ass now but their first 4 albums were good.
@@Adrian_Franco Aye. Fair dooz.
that feel when no gf
she's trying to rip off buffy sainte marie and this song isn't really that good...i like weyes blood but this isn't her best
this might just be the stupidest shit I’ve ever read.
@@antonioah7 didn't ask / don't care
@@oo-cv7vt you commented enough to comment on the first place 🤷🏻♂️ this is one of natalie’s best songs and you’re clueless for thinking otherwise
@@antonioah7 ...what the fuck is your problem? go make your own comment then instead of trying to argue with a random person who expressed their opinion months ago. yours is irrelevant to me. bye
All those close-up shots that are cross-dissolved in of her singing are super dumb in a video that's otherwise pretty amazing.
Nah. Everything here is perfect.
radiohead wannabes
Oh, radiohead invented folk music did they? Ah, no. No they didn't.
This music is too good to try to retort to such an idiotic comment. : )
no, retort. it means reply
thanks Barry
