I think he genuinely cares and wants to help people, and seeing people shit on him for that and using the excuse of "well the world isn't perfect so fuck you for trying to help" is just so petty and pathetic.
In a sense, we have this assumption of him because no one is perfect and we see a lot of people acting selfish, and we naturally hate it when people are more successful then us. It goes to show that the press and social media get bigger returns off negative news. Personally, he’s a pretty solid guy. He has both got an exception business model and uses it to help a lot of people. Makes a pretty big point as to why funding healthcare is so critical, we have the technology, but not the funding.
Fr. Honestly, the only thing that I would justify for not liking him are the occasional challenge, but even then the participants chose being there and are getting a pretty big prize ngl.

true, however i feel that you wouldnt really expect a reality check from feel good content kind of channels. like would anyone feel hopeful or optimistic when watching crime documentaries? they can only cater to so many categories, and what they show is only for their targeted demographics. the drama is mostly bringing in new people who would have preconceived notions and easily feel triggered when their negative expectations are even remotely met even if it is not a significant nor particularly memorable part of the experience.

Sure you can say that theres better like fighting for reforms and whatnot, but first of all: those efforts usually dont reach many people on a global level. And secondly, they would ultimately exhaust their own money and would be unsustainable in the long run. Thirdly, mr beast grew as fast as he did already, and with that level of exposure, its just not cost-efficient to suddenly switch from making jaw dropping content using his wealth, to low scale efforts which most people with the dedication can do. Im not saying those efforts are worse compared to spending money, but when mr beast already has that level of wealth, its much better to introduce a more interesting way to give back to the community that inspires other people, and in a way that is not prone to corruption. Like, who cares if rich people donate millions to a specific charity, when chances are that it was just tax evasion? Edit: not low scale efforts, i meant activist efforts. Which i mean could also be prone to corruption when delegating positions of authority. Jimmy himself for all we know could be corrupt in the future, maybe pocketing a lot of money for himself, but for now he looks positively trustworthy and admirable.
