    1. Three main takeaways for me
    a) Understand history in chronological order
    b) Clear view of concepts .
    C) How history is evolve
    2. After 10th class I study science so I was not connected with history.
    3. I find indus valley civilization, Mauryan and vedic period fascinating because it show how great our civilization was and how rich our ancestors by culture.
    4. Medieval history is weakest for me
    5. I will start reading NCERT books from basics and will try to understand history with open mind and will follow PYQ .

It's better to just jump to class 11th and 12th ncert history books or be steadfast at standard books as they will provide you with a history in chronological order and the rest of the ncert is just unorganised in many ways and no need to worry since all the important points of ncert will be covered in standard books.
I hope this message will be helpful to u.

    1) 3 main takeaways for me
    a. Know the demand of UPSC
    b. Read chronologically with low connectivity
    c. History evolved with time (Open minded reading)
    2) After 10th I am from a Science background so not connected with history so need to make connectivity with history as a subject.
3.) I like the ancient part of Indian history basically IVC because they were more civilized and scientific than modern times.
    4) Medieval and Modern will be the weakest for me because many events and quite difficult to remember.
    5) I will change my approach to the current demand of UPSC to complete history by connecting all dots between many events and rather reading a book must try to understand the background of that time.
Thank you Ravi sir and Kawal Sir

Some corrections - 1. Fire wasn't invented it's discovered. 2. Ashoka adopted Buddhism before the war it's just that he changed after war of Kalinga. 3. Bombay was given to the British from Portuguese as a dowry with a secret pact that the fort will be used to protect the Portuguese settlement so French didn't gave Bombay to British.

    1. Conceptual clarity, enough content, structure
    2. I had a basic idea of things but not enough content to write several answers. The reason can be not enough revisions.
    3. Ancient History because it is totally fascinating to learn about the things that in a way shaped today's living.
    4. It can be medieval as there are a lot of dynasties and invasions and shift of power happening which will need thorough knowledge.
    5. Interconnected concepts, rather than memorizing the events it'll be much better to keep track of the reasons for events.

Bhai, the whole components of history isn't covered in this session many components such as civilization in Eastern India in ancient times Harsha's times , early mediaeval dynasties , islamic invasions , Delhi sultanate, later mughals later mediaeval kingdoms such as Marathas ,peshwas, many British wars against indigenous principalities etc are missing. Many would consider these topics obsolete but they are quite important for optional and also for prelims and leaving it aside art and architecture is not even given a glance in this video maybe they would make another video for it but it's one of the most important component as per prelims and gs mains so man Although the video was resource full and an eye opener the history of India is humongous it can't be overviewed in just 1 and half an hour so I would suggest u not to limit urself just to these topics but try to explore other part of history too in a upsc oriented way .

    1.a.conceptual clarity
    b. Chronological notes
    c. asking questions regarding events and the reasons behind specific occurrences
    2. I have a hard time recalling specific occasions, years, and people since history is so huge.
    3. Ancient and medieval history

  • @gabrieljones2947
    @gabrieljones2947 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    1. My 3 main takeaways are:
    * chronology of events is of utmost importance and should be considered while starting out.
    * History should be learned like a story, not some factual khichdi.
    * History should be compared and contrasted with the modern role/POV.
    2. My lack of conceptual clarity in History comes mainly when I have to put emphasis on timelines and dates of events.
    3. I find the Gupta age and Mauryan age to be fascinating as it has given so much in terms of popular art/culture and India's History.
    4. I believe my ancient and medieval India is the weakest.
    5. I will try to link and relate things and understand the chronology of facts.

  • @kcm5249
    @kcm5249 ปีที่แล้ว +2

The 3 main take aways from the session are:
    a. To understand the history in chronological order in terms of timeline.
    b. to learn the history enthusiastically.
    C. To eliminate the misconception that history is a boring subject.
    2. I lack 40% conceptual clarity in history because I could not comprehend the ancient history and medieval history as well.
    3. The modern period of Indian history, I found to be most fascinating because I have much more interest on studying this period Aaj compared to the ancient and mediaeval history.
    4. Ancient era.
    5. I will more focus upon ancient history and medieval history and foster my preparation to the next level.

  • @user-fv3be6ub5j
    @user-fv3be6ub5j ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Sir,Thank you for everything.
1)My three main takeaways are a)It gives a clear view on how we can improve ourselves. b)History should be learned like a story based on timeline. c)Every period has its own specialty in technology and development.
2)This explanation provides a clear clarity on the different time periods and where to improve.
    3)Medieval history
4)Need to work on Ancient history.
5)Need to understand the timeline of different periods with the concepts and technologies of each period. This makes clarity on each period and will be focusing on the revision.

  • @suryam6640
    @suryam6640 ปีที่แล้ว

    1.Three Main Take aways
    • Big Picture formation of Indian History as a whole
    • Learning history in chronology makes it easier to understand the concept and connect it with incidents.
    • Point of View of historian and how history has shaped the present society.
    2. I Lack conceptual clarity in Ancient and Medieval History as I always stuck to learning important topics alone and never tried to learn the concepts thinking History is highly unpredictable in exam.
    3. I find the Ancient History part fascinating as it was these civilisations that formed the framework for course of events right from invention of Iron to how it shapes classes in society.
    4. I feel medieval is difficult for me as there a lot of dynasties that was prevalent in this period. Each dynasty has number of rulers and their own works associated with it. Since I have never properly spent time, I feel its difficult.
    5. Instilling curiosity factor along with learning things in sequence with a story like narrative will make history a easy subject for me.

  • @arjunkumar-kg7il
    @arjunkumar-kg7il ปีที่แล้ว +2

The three main takeaways for me have been:
    1. it’s important to understand chronology of events as causes and effects are easier to comprehend and understand
    2. It’s equally important to take those causes and effects and relate them to other associated things
    3. It’s also helpful to see if the things we’re reading about have some form of a role to play in our modern times.
I think my conceptual clarity in history lacks mostly where it comes to correctly placing events into timelines.
I find modern history to be the most fascinating because it has directly shaped all of our lives.
I think early medieval history is where I need to work harder.
I will try to link and relate things and not study them as isolated facts. I’m certain that this will help me form a robust chronological order (or a timeline) and I will be able to better place facts and events therein.

    1) What subjects/topics to focus on for studying, the methods and techniques for effective studying, and the areas that can be avoided or excluded from the study plan.
    2) The timeline presented in the videos clarified historical events, but I had difficulty distinguishing between ancient and medieval history.
    3) I am particularly fascinated by the ancient historical period, as it offers a glimpse into how life was during that time and how much we can learn from their intact civilizations. By understanding the reasons behind their decline, we can apply those insights to the present day.
    4) I find the medieval period somewhat challenging, especially due to the complexities of various dynasties involved.
5)Understanding the chronological order of events and incorporating it into the study process while establishing connections with the information.
    Thank You

1- a) It is easier to understand the History when we set up a link between the events that had happened. Making a flow chart of the event with relevant information to create a better understanding.
    b) Relating the three parts of the History and link up them with our daily lives will make it interesting
    c) We should learn from our past and not make same mistakes.
2- I am not able to create the concepts effectively in different situations.I fail to analyse it in all dimensions or to get a deeper insight and lack the ability to make connections in the events simplify the learning process and use the real time examples.
3- I find Modern History more fascinating since it tells clearly why our country is in its current state and the nation
    4) The medieval History is the weakest for me. I think there is too much going on so and easy to get out off the track.
5- Understand the chronology and preparing the flow chart to remember events. I will try to relate the events with our daily lives rather than just mugging up the facts.

THANK YOU SIR FOR THIS WONDERFUL SESSION.
The major take aways from this session for me is to learn history as a story, understanding chronology of the events will help to remember things better, comparing ancient, medieval or any part of history with our modern life will give more clarity and understanding.
I think I lack of a lot of conceptual clarity because till now I was just trying to remember all the events, I didn’t try to associate it with modern times nor did I try to understand it in a story manner
For me the most fascinating period is ancient history because in that period we can study the root culture of India, about many inventions, different types of arts etc.
For me the weakest is medieval and then modern
Ill try to remember history like a story (in fact ill try to imagine it like a movie), will try to associate it with modern time as sir said HISTORY REPEATS will try to link everything. :)
once again thank you so much KAWAL SIR and RAVI SIR, it means a lot.

    1) Three main take-aways from history are :
    (a) History repeat itself in a new style but pattern remains the same .The reason of that can be human instinctive psychology.
    (b) History is about studying the past, and avoid mistakes in the present to avoid the present time future disruption and war which cost the death of common civilians.
    (c) No matter the history is biased ly framed by someone for there own fake reputation, but the nature over the year by time reveal the truth .
    2) Sometimes it is very difficult to understand the history because of its vastness, deepness and length , by this reason it have the possibility of missing the mere important detail, because we choose procrastination along going through that. Because after sometime it suck's mind.
And this mind deviation can be handled by having a movie like explanation of history. Cognition and memory works better when we watch it all linking the picture together in chronology fashion.
    3) Generally, I like to dig back the past as long as it can be. My interested part of history is ancient history. I like the ancient history because I know what is happening now, it is all started from there.
    4) I think modern history involves many more ups and downs or chaos, learning it can be difficult and weak to me. It includes various disputes, reforms and revolutions.
    5) I am gonna follow the sequence as kawal sir described the history in well order and simple form.

This session is really very helpful. It has helped me to have a overall idea on the ancient period to modern India. Overall picture about foreign invention is clear to me. Some data on Ancient India are new information to me.
I have lack of conceptual clarity about Medieval portions.
The period from 1857 to 1947 is the most fascinating to me because in that period patriotism, unity was seen among Indian.
Medieval History is the weakest point for me.

    The three take away for me was;
    a) relating the ancient people life with modern people life and seeing similarities between them
    b) understanding history in story format
    c) each phase in history is interlinked to each other
In history my Conceptual clarity was very weak because I never tried to understand it in story format; and always started mugging up the concept.
Modern history I found it more interesting as this was the time when people came to understand the true meaning of unity in diversity and fought strongly against Britishers.
Ancient history l found weaker section for me as different ages comes in play and also the different civilization also.
I will change my approach towards history.

Now I shall read or analysis various topics and try to figure out the different things then it'll help me in depth.

    1. My take:
    - History needs to be taken as a story but, of course with dates.
    - It is connected to everything with everything in todays society. viz., social system, monuments, literature etc.
    - It needs IMMENSE REVISION. Includes an answer for the points above as well, once I have that, I believe I would have a command on them.
    2. Throughout the session I was confused about the way things were related and also it may be because I never liked history as a subject (school). Perhaps, this is the reason I felt lost after a while with the dates, places of origin, key persons etc. because I studied to pass.
    3. Honestly I found interest in parts with time. Some from Harappan Civilization, Rigveda and with Sufism.
    4. Ancient and Medieval may be.
    5. First, understand the historical timeline i.e., from BC - AD from a very brief perspective, following the MAJOR key people and then dive into it once prepared with through revision, because it becomes very confusing. Once I am able to do that I believe I will have a stand and move to Level two.

    1. The 3 take aways from me are understanding history in a whole as in step by step, relating it to role plays, Imagining them into a story.
    2. I lack in memorizing years and remembering many things.
    3. I find that Ancient, medieval arts, culture their work without technology are most interesting than modern history.
    4. I feel that modern history is little difficult to remember as we can see there are so many factual things happened and so many freedom fighters, revolutions happened.
    5. I will read history now as a story based fact, wars, battles, revolution and keep in mind every time from which era we reached till here.

    1. a) It is easier to understand History when we set up a link between the events that had happened. Making a flow chart of the events with relevant information helps to create a better picture.
    b) Co-relating the three parts of History and linking them with our daily lives will make it interesting.
    c) We should learn from our past and not make the same mistakes again.
    2. I am not able to recreate the concepts effectively in different situations. I fail to analyse it in all dimensions or to get a deeper insight. I lack the ability to make connections in the events, simplify the learning process and use real time examples.
    3. I find Medieval History the most fascinating because of the way it had been taught to us earlier in our school days and the way it had been glorified. I feel it is easier to understand because of the familiarity of the names and places.
    4. The Modern History era of Indian history is the weakest for me because of the number of events that had happened in that phase. There's a lot to memorize and there are many dimensions of each event which I fail to analyse and that's why I'm not able to answer the questions.
    5. I'll read/listen to the topics at least twice or thrice in order to get a better understanding of the concept. I'll try to relate the events with our daily lives rather than just mugging up the facts.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS WONDERFUL SESSION MENTORS !!
    3 Takeaway for me ...
    1) Studying historical events in a connecting manner instead of just mugging up the events and dates.
    2) Try to understand as you are experiencing the same things and connect it as it's happening in front of your eyes .
    3) Just develop ENTHUSIASM
I lack conceptual clarity in the ancient history concepts as didn't read it in chronological order.
Medieval history is fascinating for me as there are a lot of empires and each have their own strategy for expansion and consolidation.
I'll not say that I totally find modern history as my weakest point but I need to work upon it more than ancient and medieval history.
I will improve my way of understanding of history of all 3 phases - ancient, medieval and modern and will read all of them in a connected way instead of parting it differently , reading it as a story will be much more convenient with questioning the events as how, when, where and why..

Three main takeaways : 1) timeline revision of history
    2) inter connecting periods of ancient, medieval history
    3) changing perspective on how to study history .
My conceptual clarity is unclear in terms of which era these dynasties belong to and when northern kingdom a certain kind is ruling, corresponding which dynasty rules is the south.
I find the period of Ancient history most interesting as the fewer kingdoms and evolution of heterodox philosophies with the kingdoms can be studies.
My weakest area is Medieval period as the number of kindgoms or dynasties are many and the particular causes and interlinking of period is difficult
I will read more novels and take a deeper understanding of the subject in order to develop a good understanding of this subject.

    A) like this chronological way is the soo helpful to remember the whole history. thankyou sir
    B) lack of conceptual clarity - because maybe lack revision or deep dive and history have more years to remember. lack of analysis
C)modern history is some more fascinating than other
    D) weakest era is medieval - may be because of terminologies
E)understanding the topics well and follow the chronology rather than mugging up and prepare chart for remember chronology main points and MORE Revise, analysis

    1. Connecting the dots become easy if you consider it as a story
. pattern in history is always more or less similar
. focus on the timeline and patterns and the history can be decoded
    2. conceptual clarity is missing on some of the topics and mainly because the data and concept regarding them are not elaborative and easygoing enough to be understood by the students on their own.
    3. Medieval history, because I think lack of data is the most abundant over there, which leaves space of imagination.
    4. medieval as well because of the same above reason
    5. Read it through books which have explained them on the lines of telling a story so that a familiar connect could be made.

    1. Read history in chronology and not as different sections, think of history as a story, learn about cause and effect of everything.
    2. My concepts are not very good, I think reason was I always read history as parts like ancient, medieval and modern and never tried to relate one part to another.
    3. Modern history is most fascinating for me.
    4. Both ancient and medieval are equally weak for me.
    5. Firstly I'll start by connecting things with each other as a story, by watching documentaries related to topics which I can't understand, by reading books light headed and not taking history as pressure.

My three take aways from this session are- 1. Bring conceptual clarity 2. See ancient medieval and modern as an integrated whole. 3. Understand context and trace the background of events. I am a History student, I have studied it for 5 years for now, so my concepts are pretty clear. I find Ancient History fascinating because it covers a large period. Modern is comparatively weaker as many things are going on simultaneously and every event in India is connected to global politics. I will understand the context and try to interlink topics and events instead of mugging up the facts.
