byron flynt Thanks man. We ended up thinking the museum was actually slightly better than the"graveyard," just based on not really being able to get to run around the airplanes. But the bus tour was pretty cool. If you're an airplane nut you'll love it.
Yeah... I see your point, and you're right, we spend a lot of money on stuff with a limited lifespan. While I agree with you, I was surprised at how many of them are actually in a state of disassembly. They strip parts off and ship them to military bases around the world to repair stuff that's still flying.
Airplanes are not like cars, you can't fly them forever. They get to the point it would be cheaper to buy a new one then repair the old one. They develop micro cracks, that turn into huge cracks that can turn into a wing falling off. Some of the planes in the video are pushing close to 65 years old, like the B-52. The early F-16 is pushing nearly 50 years old. Planes are more fuel efficient and faster today then a lot of those old gas guzzlers.
Great video. I would love to go there one day.

@@ParksandRecYT just in case you like mexican food 👍
What an unfathomable waste of fucking money. All of those expensive airplanes just sitting there, in the desert.
