      Yes it was and it was a tree that I planned to remove for an upcoming project which you will see very soon. That tree was actually bigger than I thought.

      You got that right! I know that since I built my woodshed, I have a much cleaner chimney as well.

      Any time! I liked doing this comparison. That cherry was gorgeous but needed to go. Stay tuned to know why.

    Nice score on the cherry. Lol. Glad to see the bags are working. They are working well for us. Again like you said the open area and the wind has a lot to do with it. See ya on the next Darren and Lisa

      Thanks 👍. The bags are great for cord wood. That cherry had to go anyway which will be apparent in an upcoming video.

    Nice to see the bags dry as well as the totes, it can save some time Knott stacking! Talk later. Terry

      The other real positive I should have mentioned is that they are cheaper than an IBC tote. No doubt they save time by just tossing the rounds in the bag.

      This was a nice tree and it needed to go for a new project anyway.

      Avoiding stacking is a big advantage of the bags.

    Good work on that tree, Darren. The wood is drying pretty close to each other, not a big difference, it seems, between the two storage options. Bag for the winner. Did I hear you right? Are you picking up a plane?

      @woodruffwoods  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe if you cover a tote you are about the same. An uncovered tote is not drying as fast as the bags. The big saver with bags is that there is no stacking.

      Yeah that was a nice little project to burn off that sausage.

    The moisture difference between the bags and totes was interesting. That looks like some prime cherry.

      That cherry was really nice. That tree was almost exactly a face cord once we split it up.

    Nice score on the wood ! In your opinion what is the max % the wood can be to sell this time of year for camping?

    • @woodruffwoods
      @woodruffwoods  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use 20% as the max. It is only firewood nuts like us that even have a clue what the % is on the wood being sold

      @@fatefarmspa I know Joe's Premium Firewood says 25% is fine. For camp fires he is probably right.

    Good work, how are you liking that 592xp? Is the extra power worth the weight?

    • @woodruffwoods
      @woodruffwoods  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would say it is worth it. If everything I cut was 20 inches or less I am not sure I would feel that way but I handle some big stuff. I also like the extra power in felling or in a situation like this video. Uprooted trees always pose some danger and uncertainty and having a fast cutting saw is an advantage. In one of my upcoming videos I am cutting on a huge maple and the saw doesn't feel heavy when eating its way through the wood.

      Larry, send me your address at oldmountainfirewood@gmail.com and I will mail you a shirt. I really need to get my conveyor going. That is one of the projects I have just neglected.

    How do the bags work? Like a solar powered kiln?

    • @woodruffwoods
      @woodruffwoods  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is the idea of a bag. It allows air to flow on windy days and heats up in the sun. If I were manufacturing bags, I think I would make them all black so they would attract even more heat. I like the bags and they are cheaper than IBC totes. If my mini experiment holds true, seasoning wood in 3 months is a real advantage.
