    In 1991 "Anasthasia" by T99 came out; a massive techno anthem produced by Olivier Abbeloos and Patrick De Meyer. The track became a huge classic and this year it will be re-released on iG Recording, with a whole bunch of brand new remixes.
    I recently sat down with Olivier Abbeloos to talk with him about the story behind "Anasthasia", the production of the track, the release of the new remixes and more!
    Enjoy and thanks for watching!
    Also make sure to check out my interview with Lucien Foort, in which he talks about the Quadrophonia classic "Quadrophonia"; which was another track done by Olivier (together with Lucien) in 1991: • The story behind "Quad...

    I am really enjoying these interviews, but this one is my favourite. What a top man. Wonderful. Personally, New Beat was huge for me, and played that crucial part moving things from, say, the gothic dancefloor electronics of New Order (and Xymox and many others of course), but onto the dancefloor properly, and on into what would become acid house and all the rest. The interplay between BE, NL & UK at that time was so interesting and magical.

    Interesting to hear how this track came into being and how that unforgettable synth sound was actualised. I love a whole load of different styles and genres, sub genres of music, classical to industrial etc. Still haven't forgotten hearing this for the first time in an HMV shop in London and just thinking "what the hell is this?!" I went to the counter, asked for a copy and bought it on the spot. Still a favourite from back then to this day.

    • @arthurbrain3867
      @arthurbrain3867 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was a stand out track for the time, not only for that sublime synth sound but the production values as well. The "out of history mix" is the definitive one as those chord sequences and the bass line just make the track complete. I liked a fair bit of Quadrophonia as well as T99. kinda the early days of boundary pushing rave before it went commercial...
