This time round we took the final steps to make the suspension of the E46 M3 as good as possible. Besides just replacing the suspension, we opted for many solid bushing, spherical bearings and kinematics to correct the roll center of the car.

Love to see someone actually correct roll center when lowering the vehicle :) I’m excited to see how it performs!

This is my favorite build series. Such quality and attention to detail. We have a saying in my country that says "if you're already going for it, go for it". Sounds stupid but it means that if you already decided to do this then do it as it should be done without cutting corners. Best of luck 👍👍👍

Very very cool mate, great to see the build coming along... Can't wait to drive it, does it have extra strong door mirrors? 😜

Thumbs up for this chassis video!
Interesting fact about the upper inner bushing at the rear axle at 2:39!
The roll center correction at 3:15 is also a very important topic due to it's importance while lowering a car in my eyes! Lowering it much without that correction can end up in more roll and driving worse than keeping the height due to the changing distance between the center of gravity and the roll center as far as I know.

Wow, These bushings will be huge will be great to not have to worry about cracking your subframe area maybe a few more vibrations but it is track tool

Great build. I would have changed the subframe to body studs to throughbolts that go through the floor and connect to the rollcage however.
Looking forward to how the car progresses 😎

Have you strengthened the bodywork at the upper rear shock mount? I am asking about an integrated shock absorber with a spring.

cant wait to see you drive it and cant wait to own an m3 like this myself and take it on the nordschleife, currently im 18 cant really afford to do that for now but will get there in the end. ill stick to my 320 m sport for the time being :D

    • @heelandtoe_

Ask Custom Racetec 😂 No, actually - not sure why we didn’t do it. Let’s see, still an easy upgrade to do.

It’s all well and good but as someone who races at amateur level, you really need to be a top driver to get the difference out of something as expensive as ohlins TTX. I think 99% of people would do the same lap with some KW suspension or even some cheap BC coil overs. Unless I’m in the single seater, track cars I think it doesn’t matter that much at all.

roll center and center of gravity are not the same thing
